Also at 19:14 the bridge on the far right is the newest known as the Queensferry Crossing and it's the bridge used by cars & lorries whereas the old Forth Road Bridge is now only used by buses, cyclists and pedestrians. Queensferry Crossing has been open since 2017
There used to be tolls on some road/bridges in Scotland, but we abolished them all in 2008. They're now funded through our general taxation so you can drive freely across the Queensferry Crossing.
Hi Stuart, next time you're around pop over to Duxford and we can go up in my PA28, have a beer at a very nice local pub and generally geek out about running a youtube channel and flying!
3:35 As someone that lives relatively close to dunsfold, here's some fun facts: 1) That 747 was apparently used in a bond film (I don't remember which) where the 747 crashes into a terminal 2) Local Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officers (and maybe other armed police units) use that 747 for hostage situation training. I know, because my college class was supposed to go and play civilians on it because of my tutor's connections due to him being an ex-police officer 3) Dunsfold is, in fact, the aerodrome used in Top Gear, and it served as the 'test track' 4) The Hawker association (or Hawker Hunter Association) is based at Dunsfold, and they're in the process of restoring Hunter T7 XL623 at Brooklands museum 5) This one I'm not 100% certain on, but I'm pretty sure Dunsfold has also been used in it's fair share of films (and maybe TV shows) 6) There are (or at least were) driving experiences you can (or could) do there I'll edit this and add more as I think of/remember them
This video randomly popped up in my feed and I'm so glad it did! Really well made, very likeable duo with a great dynamic, cool concept.. instantly subbed and looking forward to part 2!
So happy to see you at the controls of an aircraft again Stef. Hope all is going well with your recovery and you continue to bring us these great videos. Thanks again.
Fabulous Stefan - so great to see you back in the air and all the better that you're here in Blighty flying around some of my home territory (in fact I woke up in Brighton this morning!).....
Newcastle and Teesside ATC are great - never have a problem getting a transit with them, and it's a great route from the bridges via the overhead, with the big jets passing underneath.
Thanks Stef for this awesome new series. This is particularly close to me as I too have had quite a few flight adventures with Philippe around the UK, having done my IR with the amazing Echelon Air. Looking very much forward to the episode releases coming up.
That was fantastic, really loved watching all of it. I haven't had the greatest of years and this reminded me why I love flying. I need to pull finger and get back up again. Thank you so much. Now on to watching day two.
I love this idea; seeing how joyous and healthy you are is so great. The orbits over Newcastle and the first second and third forth bridges was fun and brought back happy memories for me too.
Great video Stef! Nice to see you back at the stick! Hope you had a lot of fun making this, and enjoying flying again! Can't wait for your next ep to come out and see the rest of your trip around the British coast line! -Tim
Hey Stephan! Just read about you in the Australian FLYING Magazine! So cool that one of my favourite UA-camrs was found in one of my favourite magazines!
So so good to see you back in the left-hand seat Stefan. What a great first episode this has been, brilliant to watch and I loved the look on Phillipes face when he got to fly over Gosforth. Really looking forward to the next episode. :)
Brilliant Stef, have done most of the UK coast now but not in one go! Looking forward to the next episodes! BTW Teeside, Newcastle and Edinburgh ATC are awesome, friendly and accomodating big shout out to them! I've also been to Newhall Mains, was the first Gyroplane to land there! Awesome place!
Great idea for a mini series Stef. You actually caught on camera the area where I live (7.55) The creek is just over the road from where I live. Beccles was my first land away of 2024 Looking forward to part 2 😎
Really enjoyed this longer form video of your adventures, personally I wish it was even longer! Great works as always and nice to see my island from up high.
Love the name of the plane. It's like if you were to ask the plane, "Would you like to fly around the coast of Britain?" And it's response, "G(ee)!! (wh)Y YES!!!" 😀
So good to see you flying again after your surgery 🎉🎉 an inspiration. I got to 21 hours as a teen but never finished my PPL as I ran out of ££. Now I'm in my late 30s I'm hoping in the next couple of years to get back in the air & get my license finally
It feels like one of those ideas you would start in the flightsimulator, but to do it in real life looks even more fun! Looking forward for the next episodes.
Awesome video. Philippe is such a good dude. Got to fly that exact plane up to Scotland with them back in May this year. Great facility and great people.
Great to see you back in the pilots seat!
Thanks Joe, nice to be back there
@@StefanDrury congrats )
Yep, it surely is.

Grass strips and telegraph poles! Fun!
My dad was from South Queensferry and yes that is a new bridge. In my family the rail bridge is known as Grandads bridge. Thanks for showing.
Grandads bridge, I love that. I always loved those bridges as a kid as well.
Delighted to see you back in the air. ❤️
I had a good chat with Philippe at AeroExpo last year.
