    In 2019 I used McKee’s ceramic coating because it was the cheapest coating I could find. It was for my parents’ 16 year old car. I did a full correction and coating. The car was parked outside for 2 years and the coating still hadn’t failed. They eventually donated the car…coating was still good. I think I paid like $40-50 for it on amazon back then. I was truly shocked at how good a value it was.

      I put their SiO2 Ceramic Coating on my stepdad’s 2017 Honda Ridgeline in mid May of last year, and it still beads water 14 and 1/2 months later like it was just applied. Granted his truck is garaged, but still a very impressive product. If the graphene coating had been available at that time I probably would have used it instead (just because), but I have no complaints about their ceramic coating.

    So glad you're finally checking out McKee's stuff. I use their Hydro Blue Pro as a topper to my ceramic and it lasts easily 2-3 months for 5 minutes of work, it's really crazy how good it is. I absolutely won't even consider a topper if I have to apply it and buff it off. Why would I? It takes the same amount of time to 'properly' apply Gtechniq C2V3 as it takes to put on an actual ceramic coating, and you get what like 3 months protection? Waste of time. Spray on Hydro Blue Pro, spray it off, walk away. 5 minutes of work tops and you're good. I put it on my brother in law's Audi that had no protection before he sold it, after 3 months when he went to sell the car the coating was still working on it.
    There's a reason why every company is coming out with spray on/spray off coatings, because why would you waste your time otherwise at this point?
    Side bonus, it's the easiest window protection/water repellent you can use.
    I also use the rubber mat cleaner/rejuvenater. Stupidly easy to apply and the mats look brand new.

    Great video, Jason, Nick, & Chelsea! McKees 37 overall is one of my favorite brands (thanks to Chelsea for the recommendation on her channel), and it's good to see them get some further exposure. And I agree - the Hydro Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating is truly amazing! That, along with the Graphene Ceramic Detail Spray and the Fast Interior Detailer, are probably my favorite products in the line. Yeah, their stuff is honestly a bit pricey, and it always gives me pause when I get ready to order more for that reason. But I can't argue with the quality! 👍

    When you sprayed the graphene on the car and said why would I need anything else? I've been debating this for a while now. The next car I get I'm seriously asking myself is it even worth doing all the work to ceramic coat the car when I could just use McKee's spray on protection once a month, 5 minutes of work, and know that I have layers of protection on the car. To be honest I don't really have an answer yet, but it seems to me why even do a ceramic coating at this point?
    Maybe you can do some tests and answer that question for me.

    • @afonsofreitas3595

      From my point of view i think of it this way, i hope i can explain it: A small umbrella will protect you agains the rain and be a lot quicker to dry but a larger umbrella will protect you better agains the rain with the withdrawal of being slower to dry
      A full ceramic coating, with all the curing times etc will provide better protection, better properties in terms of protection agains the environment with the withdrawal of being "harder" to apply.
      A spray coating will be a lot quicker to apply, a lot simpler, but will never offer the same amount of protection, the same properties as a proper, full ceramic coating will, with the advantage that it is a lot simpler and quicker to apply.
      It's up to each person to decide which one the want if not both 😄

    • @Hardcaslte
      @Hardcaslte 2 роки тому

      @@afonsofreitas3595 From what I can tell the main difference is the 9H hardness of the full ceramic, but how important is that really? If I stack 3 layers of graphene spray coating over a couple of months, how much of a disadvantage will I really be at?
      I really think the lines are getting more and more blurred. I mean it took me a while to admit to myself that using a coating that you can just spray on and then spray off with water is actually better than a sealant that you have to wipe on and buff off the paint. It's almost illogical when you think about it, but it's the truth. Technology is moving us to a point where one day we'll probably just add some ceramic to our wash water and it'll protect the car for 8 months and it won't even seem like it makes sense but it'll somehow work.

    • @Hardcaslte
      @Hardcaslte 2 роки тому +1

      @@McKees37 I've been using Hydro Blue as a topper to my ceramic for quite a while now and want to say THANK YOU! Man, it's the easiest way to keep your ceramic protected (ironically protecting the protection on your car) and keep it lasting as long as possible.
      For the graphene version, can I put it on top of the Hydro Blue Pro? Or should I wait for the Hydro Blue to wear out first?

      @Hardcaslte 2 роки тому

      @@thinkforyourself5672 I did a ceramic coating on my car when i bought it, I've used Hydro Blue Pro on my windows and wheels. I actually bought ceramic for my wheels and never used it, I really don't see a reason for it. And same for the windows, doing long term coatings on the windshield is a serious PITA, I can spray some McKee's on it in 30 seconds and be good to go. I also use the windows and wheels as a measure of how strong the coating still is, since I can't really tell on the ceramic since it's also water proof. So when the windshield starts to get weak I know to respray the whole car.

      I haven't tried it, but I've been a user of their Hydro Blue Pro ceramic spray and it works at least 3 months in full sun with no garage. Even if the Graphene somehow only lasted 3 months, believe me it's the easiest way to protect your car for 3 months. You just can't get something quicker than 5 minutes of spray on/spray off, car is protected.
      That being said, I'd love to see some real world tests anyway lol.
