You must add support to underneath the rack. Use short screw on front. If you put support the rack mount will crack. Im also used the same rack but i make custom support to the rack.
Hi, i bought a cf moto mt 650 in November 2022. I ordered included a shad topcase and the dealer mounted a topcase luggage rack on the bike, one with 4 screws like i see you have, after 1 week the bolts who where welded on the frame where broken, i went to the dealer and asked him why he welded this bolts. No answer. He mounted for free a givi rack wich is much more heavy and stronger and mounted in a different way. However with this rack it's impossible to use the sidecases who where included by the bike for a small price. It would be great if you showed us how you mounted the rack , so than i would consider to buy the same one. Greetings from Jan from Belgium
Hi Jan, thanks for watching and your comment. It was an unplanned video so I kept it short but I had trouble getting the bolts of the original grab rail because they were so tight. They had some type of thread lock on them so I used what we call a breaker bar which is a longer version of a wratchet to loosen them. Your dealer may have damaged your bike during the process so the reason for welding the bolts. Did the dealer weld the bolts on the frame of your bike because that is a no no. I have a previous video where I installed my top box on another rack which shows the mounting process in more detail but if you need more info I can get some photos for you, have a look and get back to me.
