Once I better understood puppy bites. When giving treats, I immediately would gentley scratch under chin. Then scratching under chin randomly and often. The dog is starting to learn, my hand near his mouth has treats or he is getting a gentle scratch. He now enjoys the attention. Both dogs like 'Boss Bones'.
I'm very confused why there are puppies in this video. We were strictly told by our dog trainer and vet that under no circumstances should you ever do agility with puppies because it can do lasting damage to their growth plates and to wait until they are at least 1 year old..
If you made a video on how to teach your dog to shake my hand can you please add a link? If you didn't make one can you please make a video on how to teach a dog to shake?
I've always been told not to make the puppies jump before 18 months old, if you want to avoid back problems later. I am surprised you make those puppies jump so young.
@@NateSchoemer Well the vet told me the same thing. To avoid jumping before 18 month if possible. But there's plenty of other things to do in agility without having necessarily to jump. 👍😉Although I understand about the puppy necessity to learn and discover as much as possible in the first 4 or 5 months.
Nate, great video! I'm definitely going to teach my pup to do this. You gave me advice on walking my pup while walking with my bf and his dog and using the snap leash method to keep my pup from disrupting the walk. Great advice! It's worked and it's a night and day difference. Thanks a lot!
I have a brilliant idea: put a real strong flexi-thingy on that ball and retrieve it a little bit faster than you bring the dog through the tire and then the dog will come to you right where you want it to be. By the way, that woman needs to get the lead out of the 'junk in her trunk'

People often say things without any proper research.

Use a ball on a rope. Keeps dog engaged with handler. Timing for that throw is hard!
Thanks for the comment. :)
