Yes, it’s called beach tour but not available in the UK at the moment. You can find it from VW Germany website. For people don’t need cooking equipment, six seats make more sense for a weekend beach trip. Unfortunately VW UK has not made it available here
Extra door is a bonus, the. Beach with a cool box may be the better option with a wider bed, thanks for the review. Does the phev have a diesel heater😂
I can’t justify this new incarnation of the new California in comparison to my T6 getting rid of the rock&roll bed with large storage underneath those plastic buckets on new model hold little mistake no1 ,no 2 smaller width bed ,no3 you can’t cook pasta and sauce same time only one burner ,no4 all Californias should be 4motion ,no5 the new VWtransporter would have been a better choice for new Cali bags more room i can only imagine that the converter will do a fabulous job on them ,I could go on imho, having said that the T7 is a good looker
Hi @Enyaq_gorm - The T7 California is a full VW build in Hanover, then into the very same conversion factory as your T6 Cali. The Multivan platform is in fact a premium level platform with high quality parts & interior furnishings with no link to any other manufacturer. I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised if & when you get to experience one 👍🏼
@ Believe it or not, it’s actually longer, wider & higher than the T6.1 California ✅ ✅ ✅ With new features such as two sliding doors & the kitchen area relocated further back it actually allows for extended use of space around the vehicle with almost identical dimensions from behind the front seat to the rear of the vehicle. ✅ The bed is narrower by a few millimetres but nothing that is noticeable. That of course would be an serious issue if you don’t like the wife / GF 😝 I’ve plenty of experience with both vehicles. I’d try one before you make up your mind 👍🏼 Full disclosure: I’m certainly biased 😃
Right..72k to 92k for a van with a folding bed in the back and a push up fabric roof. No wonder VW are in trouble
My thoughts exactly. VW is finished.
I'm afraid it's the German government that's making all the blunders - not VW
Thanks for the overview. Looking forward to your real life camping video in the new California… it’s going to be an eye opener!
California model but not available in California... 😭
I enjoyed watching the video, a great looking Campervan 😊
Thanks for checking it out!
Bit on the cheap side re internal materials?
Doesn’t really feel that way, just some less bits to make room for that extra sliding door
@ I still don’t get why there’s wood effect floor?
Wondering if there will be a 'Pacific Palisades' version...given that VW are adept at making good decisions.
Pity vw didn’t use this as a base for the new transporter rather than a ford transit
It’s very comprehensive, though you’d need to make regular use of it to justify the investment.
totally - you could drive them as daily vehicles too though, this one when it comes in PHEV even more so.
Should be more car like to drive now that it’s based on the Multivan. Can one of the non kitchen versions be got with 6 seats ?
I don't believe so

Extra door very handy!

@@NobbyOnCars watche that - and that is why i am asking - new phev power to compare, if this one is proper
This model is roughly around 112.000 euro in Europe, The Netherlands. A real bargain.
🤣
I'll take two Nobby not sure how the family will take to living permanently in one car & motorhome prices are a bit nuts.

I'll stick with my T6 thanks, this is purely because they've stopped making the transporter and now it's a rebadged transit.

@@warrenreidy7925 it's smaller than the transporter. Too small. The new transporter is a ford

@@warrenreidy7925The sheer volume of uninformed drivel spouted by so many people still astonishes me - even after all these years
@warrenreidy7925 I've got a third party approved conversion my my T6 is a long wheel base
I suppose if you consider a new decent spec golf is about 45k and theres two golfs worth of material in it then the price makes sense!
Vw are finished the electric buzz rubbish over priced now these i would rather spend 20 to 30 grand on a classic.
