Great to watch this video. Learnt my craft in Barrow back in the early 90’s . Thanks Matt.
We've all grown old together but what great memories. A lot of us are still playing and having fun !!

Absolutely brilliant display of Barrow musical talent from the 60's Love it.
Absolutely loved this...fantastic look back into the musical history of Barrow...
Thanks to all for putting this together and of course all those in the bands and groups of the time who made Barrow such a great place for entertainment...
Thank you for the acknowledgement credit at the end Matt, I was pleasantly surprised and proud to be involved with it as a silent 3rd party. I actually witnessed the latter part of the 60's as a 14 year old kid and learned my bass playing from most of these bands in the vid, as they all mostly rehearsed in the Sun Hotel on Ramsden St and me and my pal Tony used to help in and out with their gear just so that we could get playing tips and have a go on some proper name guitars at the end of the night for a few minutes. I also converted (and digitally cleaned up the crackly sound) for the closing track here from an old 60's 45 rpm disc, which was a total pleasure and an honour to do, 'Yesterdays Sunshine' (a fitting tribute to this video too). 60's star Dave Berry also did a (one off) acetate version of it which I was also trusted to digitally convert for him. It should have been released as a hit single, or at least made it to an album but Decca in their wisdom decided against it.. Who would have thought that all those years ago that I would get the job to do that and also perform backing vocals live on stage with him when he sang it in Barrow a few years back......very surreal. Well done in making this vid, it perfectly captured and preserved the memories of bygone years of Barrow music scene. Dave Berry...Yesterdays Sunshine (with composer Dave McGerty on keys and myself on backing vocals). ua-cam.com/video/1rllCTBUGLo/v-deo.html

❤
Absolutely Brilliant it was a very vibrant scene in those days (Hereward)
Fantastic film, that was a great watch. Barrow had super talented musicians in them days which has helped produce the quality right now.
Really enjoyed this great piece of Barrows history !!!
Top job Matt, really enjoyed watching this. If only we could go back and spend a few nights out in the mid sixties to see it for ourselves.
Excellent Matt. This makes me wish I was 10 years older! I always say the best thing about being 6* is growing up in the seventies with all the great music but being there pretty much from the start must be awesome!
Enjoyed this from start to finish, had to watch every second to see if The Midnights got a mention and right at the end at 26.47 there is a picture my dad is first left. Thank you.
Excellent Stuff Matt
Wonderful
Mention is made of gigs at the YMCA. Where was this?
Spike Pix Thanks I remember now. Think it became Bill Hemsworth’s health studio/gym.
24.27 is that the open air baths on Walney Island?
