  • Dr. Steven Gundry, M.D., is a world-renowned cardiologist, heart surgeon, medical researcher, and author. After working in medicine for over 40 years, Gundry shifted his focus to teaching people how to avoid surgery in the first place through simple diet changes. According to Gundry, what we eat is behind everything from chronic diseases like obesity and cardiovascular disease to unexplained ailments like autoimmune disorders and migraines. Gundry’s holistic, food forward approach has helped his clients lose weight, reduce chronic disease risk, and live longer, healthier lives.
In this episode of Hone In, podcast host and Hone Health CEO Saad Alam sat down with Gundry for the inside scoop on his new book Gut Check. They talk about the link between your gut microbiome and inflammation, how to heal leaky gut, and what to eat to improve microbiome diversity. Plus, the foods you think are healthy (looking at you, oatmeal) that might be wreaking havoc on your gut.
Gundry also gets real about why the keto diet works, but isn’t the best option for overall health. He outlines exactly how to tap into the benefits of a keto diet, and improve your metabolism, without actually going keto.
Listen to the full episode for a glimpse into how to tweak your diet for a healthier gut, metabolism, and ultimately, a longer life.
    We Discuss:
-How your gut microbiome is linked to chronic disease
-The “healthy” foods that might be causing gut dysbiosis
-How endocrine disruptors wreak havoc on your gut
-Why you’re probably doing the keto diet wrong
-Why time-restricted eating might be the secret to metabolic flexibility
    In This Episode You’ll Learn:
-Exactly what to eat (and what not to eat) for a healthy gut
-Biomarkers that may indicate leaky gut and how to improve them
-How and when to eat to tap into the benefits of the keto diet
-Vitamins you’re probably deficient in that deserve a spot in your supplement stack
-Gundry’s five non-negotiables for more energy

I spend thousands of dollars in supplements trying to find out what was missing in my body and why it reacted to all the food I ate until I found Dr. Gundry and started to understand what the problem was, changed my diet to the lectin free one, I enjoy it very much, plus I have seen a big difference.

Dr Dean Ornish in USA did clinical study in 1990 about healthy lifestyle for patients with inoperable cardiovascular diseases and the arteries opened after one year. He wrote a book how to reverse heart disease and how to prevent heart disease. Now he did research and clinical studies on males with prostatic hypertrophy and prostatic cancer stage zero and also healthy lifestyle cure cancer and hypertrophy proved by genetic examinations. Functional medicine now look for root causes of diseases . Western medicine teaches us managing the symptoms. We medical doctors have to self educate our selves about health and disease prevention but not much money can be made to live because patients want quick fixes and to continue in their unhealthy lifestyle bec they live in comfort zone.😊

In my opinion, it's malpractice not to educate your patients about a healthy gut if you are aware of its importance & how it can prevent or reverse disease. Also, just because you did not learn something in school does not excuse you from not knowing. No one can learn everything in medical school. I felt that I learned virtually nothing in my nurse practitioner program. If a person is not interested in learning massive amounts of information on his own, then he should not be in the medical profession. I've know a few physicians who read & studied just enough to get through medical school. After graduation they did not even read their medical journals. I'm sure you keep up with medical information on your own. I've been audited twice for CEUs or CMUs. Both times I had 8 times the required units for relicensure.

    Peace be upon you.
I had been suffering from loose motion for four years. I got many tests done, but there came a time when even the medicine stopped working.
I had an autoimmune disorder. A doctor friend of America mine told me that there is a treatment for this disease.
However, I was not hopeless. Then I came across your video on UA-cam. I focused on it, understood the logic over a week, Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr. Jason Fung, and especially you❤️👈🏻.
I switched to the carnivore diet. On the very first day, I stopped all medicines.
Now I am in my fifth month, feeling very good, and taking supplements as well: magnesium citrate, D3, K2, and potassium citrate.
I am much better because of your efforts. Age has also reversed; I feel like a young man. I have stopped all anxiety and depression medicines except for one, Lexotonal, which might also gradually be stopped.
I just used chia seeds the day before yesterday, but my condition deteriorated today. I listened to your lecture today. I was really confused about what caused it.
I am very grateful to you.
May Allah, the Lord of all worlds, grant you happiness in both worlds.

    Greetings to you,
    Doctor,
I have an autoimmune disorder. Because of this, I had severe loose motions for three years. At one point, even the medicine stopped working.
Then I found your video on UA-cam because there is no doctor in Pakistan who deals with keto and carnivore diets.
It was a big problem for me.
It's been four months now that I am on a keto diet, and the loose motions have stopped. I have also stopped all the medicines.
Now, the issue I am facing is that for the past month, I have been experiencing a lack of water in my body, which causes irritation in the stomach, irritable bowel syndrome, stress, and unnecessary tension.
I feel the need to go to the toilet, but when I sit, nothing happens. For this, I have to take a water drip and loose motion medicine.
Sir, I don't understand where the problem is.
    My diet:
    - Daily, two times, red meat, almost totaling half a kilogram.
    - Lemon water and ginger water daily.
    - Four eggs daily.
    - Use of butter, etc.
I have been on this diet for four months.
    In supplements:
    - Vitamin D3
    - Vitamin K2
    - Potassium citrate
    - Magnesium citrate
Sir, please help me. I am from Pakistan, and there is no doctor here.
There is only one person who promotes or represents your channel on UA-cam.
I will be waiting for your response. I hope you will reply.
    JazakAllah

J…. How can it be? Dr. Grundy is so infatuated with only himself? Most drs aren’t preventing diseases. They hand out drugs. He has been transparent about his own issues
on many podcasts. Check out TMHS, changing the landscape of America. . . Many breakthrough doctors have been awakened. He’s busy working hard in his senior yrs. Let him relax and enjoy himself a little. Wish we had break through doctors in CA. Think of yourself as very fortunate. Perhaps you are confusing infatuation with the right to speak with Authority , which he has earned!
