It's a shame that we Filipino don't sing and play these Rondalia. While they are preserving our traditional song and instruments we are promoting their hip hop songs.
you sure bout that? there are rondalla contest going on. Dont blabber somethin about the younger generations if you dont know thoae things. And do you know how to play these instruments ? Cause i have so many peers younger than me that can play this.
This piece of music seems to be a Spanish "jota". The "jota" is a folk dance from the old Crown of Aragon, i.e. Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic islands and Aragon. Rondalla is a Catalan word meaning either a tale, or a group of musicians playing together in a circular disposition. (The word is also found in Spanish but not Spanish in origin.)
We sang this when we were grade six. Experimental section choir in Bajacbajac Elem School in Olongapo City. Brings back the joy of our childhood and genious teacher Mrs. Cordova. 😂
Proud to be a Filipino!!! hoo..!!!
Oh dear, this is a wonder! Smiled through the whole performance: you guys are simply amazing! Thanks very much for the beautiful singing of one of our folk songs! I was drawn to this video bcoz of the Rondalla. I used to play the banduria from Grade 3 till I grade 6. Miss those wonder years, filled with wonderful moments: thanks for the happy stroll down memory lane!
Very Beautiful ! it's like in it's natural setting, during the olden days. Nothing compared to professional singers. The Rondalla is Cornell University's treasure, keep up the good work everybody.
Excited at first but while listening i notice a smile on my face. Realizing how great this feeling our Kundiman song is sung by you people. KUDOS........
Oh my God, my heart is leaping with joy just hearing you guys play. Hopefully you guys can go to California so we can watch you perform. SO SO AWESOME.
Great performance. I wish lot of the young filipinos in this generation could browse across this video and watch the old traditional songs.. Thanks for sharing...
@LOLA MADAM . Hello wow Mrs MADAM I'm fall in love with you I like that because the song is very romantic so how are you doing you looking good where are you from?
Why don't they teach our very own in our grade/high school anymore? It takes other countries to appreciate our own folk songs and rondalias. Shame on Philippine education department.
Reminiscing the yesterday's..what a beautiful song from the Philippines 🇵🇭🇭🇰

It's a shame that we Filipino don't sing and play these Rondalia. While they are preserving our traditional song and instruments we are promoting their hip hop songs.

I'm a six-string player. But seeing these kind of performance makes me want to learn how to play bandurria. 🇵🇭❤
Feel nostalgic. We used to sing this song when we were in elementary. The rendition is superb and i like the sounds of Bandurrias.
Nakakatuwa...
Proud to be a Filipino!!! hoo..!!!
