If, earlier this evening, you'd told me I'd be sat here thoroughly enjoying a slab of D-beat crust-punk from Indonesia...well, I'd have thtought the 'shrooms were really kicking in. This is great!
I'm really starting to like a bunch of Indonesia punk bands, these guys are actually really good, it's not just total noise, the tunes have a sense of controlled chaos!
Imagine calling yourself "Hardcore Dad" and being someone who is crushed when he can not consume even though he can hear the music FOR FREE. I will never understand the mindset of people like you. Back in the days when i was a kid i never could afford all the good music i wanted and now i can hear it all for free. Why would anyone is his right mind pay for something if he could have it for free? And isn't it a contradiction to listen to hardcore punk who criticises capitalism and consumerism and at the same time being "crushed" because you were not able to consume something that you could have for free? Free music has a LOT of advantages: 1. No waste of ressources. You don't have to waste energy and materials to make physical records and distribute them all over the world when you can share the music much cleaner and efficient via FLAC, WAV or MP3. If you want to support a band you can still send them a check or buy their bandcamp stuff or merchandise, visit their concerts... you name it. 2. No record labels who deicide what is markatable. 3. People who make music make it for the MUSIC or the message they want to get out, not for fame and money wich results in better and more authentic bands and scenes. But here you are totally crushed because you can't live your consumerism to the fullest. It is because of such nonsense that i am totally desillusioned with the left. At the end of the day you become everything you criticise.
I usually don't respond to ignorant comments but however 1) I think you took what I said WAY to serious. 2) it's a waste of energy arguing with someone in their safety net 3) I personally don't sit around criticizing people, I think for myself. Imagine walking in a room and the punk police with their noses in the air, judging you and doubting your sincerity? A lot of those folks who passed judgement on me when I was a 14 year old kid going to shows have zero to do with punk these days. I'll be 47 this year and I still give a shit and still love finding new bands ALL across the globe and yes I like free music but I also like to support d.i.y. bands and labels. There is nothing wrong with thinking the Domesticrust is worthy of a vinyl release but I am just as happy having the digital release from bandcamp. Other people could agree. Seriously find something better to do with your time like pointing the finger at yourself cos I'm sure you are guilty of a lot of shit whether you admit it or not. Lastly nothing is gonna matter when the Sun consumes the Earth. Quit being a miserable bastard and try to enjoy life while you can. My kids saved my life and hey they want to consume all kinds of shit especially every time we go to a store and I'm not gonna let anyone make me feel guilty about doing stuff for my kids. If I'm going to a show, it better be ALL ages cos I'm bringing my kids!!!
