Gulch combine all of the raddest parts of hardcore together without over-doing a single aspect.
That's the perfect way pf describing them
They definitely add some death metal and black metal in there.
Sorry to tell you hardcore has been around since the 70’s this is any one of the other stupid “sub genre” but it’s not hardcore. Hardcore is black flag, the germs, the exploited, gbh, minor threat. Maybe learn history?
@@Crash.7434Lol op never said it was pure hardcore punk. They basically implied this combined all the best parts of the subgenres of hardcore (including the metal influenced genres such as grindcore, powerviolence, crust punk, crossover, Beatdown, deathcore, metallic hardcore etc) and meshed it well together plus adding elements of black metal, death metal etc pretty much becoming it's own unique sound. Overall the drumming despite the double kick is still quite punky. This is like old Bad Brains but heavier and more metallic.
Subgenres in hardcore aren't stupid they've literally expanded the sound to different levels.

it's amazing how much bands like Gulch, Vein, Knocked Loose, and Jesus Piece (for a few examples) blew up and it's all well deserved. they're all so great.
totally. that new trend of hardcore is like a less knuckle-dragging form of beatdown, just generally speaking cuz gulch is more grindy. but they all bring the riffage which rules.
I wouldn't put them in the same category as bands like vein, knocked loose etc.
Gulch slaughters all those bands mentioned.

A long time ago i was given a stolen Ipod & went to use it that morning only to realize there was only 15 songs. All songs i didn’t know yet. This song was one of them & their cover of “sabotage” & i was immediately hooked! I didn’t know anything can be so heavy!
