You didn't talk about what could actually be my favorite Fire Emblem game, but very easy top 5 at least... Fire Emblem Cipher. No joke, masterpiece tier. Craps on Heroes for sure.
I think Echoes wins in Animations for me, but for some unknown reason they only managed the quality *one* time with 3D fire emblem, and it didn't translate over to three houses AT ALL.
@@mariocruno3772 I'd argue it's just the animations in general, if you look at Alm's combat animations there's some ridiculous amount of personality and style there we don't get very often. And even the villager animations are insanely snappy, response, and don't drag on, especially when it comes to dodging and riposting *that shit is smooth as butter* 👌
The best (most hilarious) part of Conquest is the off hand reveal that Corrin somehow managed to go most of the game, which is an active war mind you, without killing a single person.
Fates is one of the stories of all time. And of all of the characters ever made, Corrin sure is one of them Gameplay legit easily one of the best still

New New Update: I’ve completed Three Houses, Awakening, all of Fates, Echoes, Engage, Genealogy of the Holy War, Mystery of the Emblem, Shadow Dragon, and Thracia 776.
Echoes is absolutely one of the best if not THE best Fire emblem game, and it's my favorite still and I don't think I'll ever feel differently! I hope you have a great time with the game whenever you get around to playing it 🙏
Pros: Beautiful art design, One of the best games story wise in the series, has some fun dungeon exploring, has skill systems that are bound to the equipment you find in the game, lets you play at your own pace. Cons: Map design is awful, enemies love spamming you with the same unit type, Celicas route gives you very limited unit types making it much more tedious than necessary, Dungeons can be a nightmare to navigate, almost all characters have poor res growth so mages will constantly be annoying to everything except Mathilda and Dread fighters, SO MUCH SWAMP, summoners can keep swarming you with enemy units that give little xp, food and fatigue is pointless and tedious, You won't use half of your roster late game and the one enemy you want to kill all game has a weird mechanic making it difficult to do. But thats probably all worth seeing Delthea's snaggle tooth when she crits.
@@smallsoul2374 Its not overblown and its not hate, its genuine criticism, I mean sure the story was amazing but in general I felt sandpaper was more enjoyable in terms of gameplay, the only time I started to enjoy the dungeon crawling aspect was in the post game, and even then being spammed the same units over and over while having cramped maps with limited gameplay options really sucked

I don‘t think, the number of routes in FE16 has anything to do with the low number of maps. My personal guess for the blame goes to the zoom in feature, as because of it every map had to be detailed to an unprecedented degree, making maps much more ressource intensive, for a waste of a feature that no-one uses for longer than a few minutes.
Even though I disagree with a lot of your list, it was so awesome to hear your thoughts on each and every Fire Emblem game! Thanks for taking the time to make it :)
I absolutely love most of the takes in this vid, especially with Three Houses. The church and golden deer routes are dedicated to lore and world-building, whereas black eagles and blue lions are the interesting clash of ideals I love the series for. if I had my way, I'd have there only be two routes (crimson flower and azure moon) and distribute the lore from the other two routes to them

I actually really liked the GBA graphics. And yes…Sacred Stones is my favorite FE game, lol. Lyn’s game was actually the first FE I played and it’ll always have a special place. But I do have to agree. Echoes is probably the best game in the series. Awesome video man.
I really like your arguments for all of these, great job! P.S. Started playing PoR a couple weeks ago, I always wanted to know more about Ike and the Tellius series, and I'm already loving it.
HARD AGREE ON #1 I don’t know how or why but the whole time I played three houses I kept wishing I was playing Path of Radiance (which I’d played right before). Bigger maps aren’t always better and battles just felt more fun for some reason
I'll keep this brief. Your criticisms of the FE7 plot being gated behind limited supports are valid. Better design would have allowed you to read every support, but still limited you to 5 supports for gameplay bonuses. Nergal is also pretty cartoonishly villainous without much depth on the first playthrough. Every game (and story) deserves an interesting villain. Where I draw the line is where you say "I just can't recommend FE7 because of these reasons." Because of the plot being gated and a narratively weak villain. This is pretty baffling to me. Those are gripes. They're not good reasons to not like an otherwise excellent tactical strategy game. It's like saying you can't recommend chess because there's no randomness to keep it interesting, or that you can't recommend a book because the paper of your copy had a weird texture. TL;DR: FE7 is a tactical strategy game. That's its genre. You can knock it for its less than stellar story, and that's a valid criticism (a better story makes a better game), but "can't recommend it" for that alone is ... just a bad take. If a game presents itself for its gameplay, you judge it on its gameplay.
1:04:10 based by putting sea salt and travelers with lyrics, its my fav fe song lol. Also, loved this tier list, as compared to some others I see around, you weren't disrespectful to your least favorite games here.
One Fire Emblem Fates Character I would’ve loved to have seen in Fire Emblem Warriors was Corrin’s Friend Silas. I was bummed he was not on there! He was one of my favorites.
Sacred Stones is unabashedly my favorite. I actually quite like the soundtrack for it, and the story of two twins really engaged me. Eirika was my first Fire Emblem crush, and you can tell that she just wants to go back to the old days with Ephraim and Seth, but the war ripped that away from her. The maps for Sacred Stones, like you said, are *AWESOME*. I love FE8's maps. The atmosphere of the game feels heavy and dark, which perfectly fits the theme of the game. And I love how FE8 goes back to what FE2 tried a bit, with an overworld map, monster encounters, and a place to grind your units. I also love how there are not just your average soldiers, knights, mages, cavaliers and so on, but also stuff like giant spiders, skeleton warriors, flying eyeballs, cyclopses, ZOMBIE DRAGONS?? and even more. It's so refreshing and just adds to FE8's eerie atmosphere. I'd love to see Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Magvel, or even a sequel, but I don't expect one, but I'm also okay with that. I love Sacred Stones.
First time here. Your jokes are so funny, very good timing. Sharena supremacy got a giggle out of me. Edit: loved your list, was a little shocked by some of your choices. Then I realized it’s “your” list, awakening was my first FE game. So it’s definitely higher for me, but I was able to agree with some of your negative points. Great video :)
I think this is the first time I've heard the take about how the GBA supports hinder the story experience and honestly I agree with that 100%. Something always felt off my first time playing through them but I was so distracted by how much I enjoyed the animations and gameplay that I could never figure out what it was and I think you hit the nail on the head. The only take I disagree on is making the Fire Emblem games have less replay value. The developers don't expect you to play through all three houses routes back to back but take some time inbetween them so that when you play through it again its something new.
Agree about Three Houses i definitely had some issues with the game but rather than making you buy three games as was the case in Fates they at least gave all the routes in a single package, this also gave the game a longer life as well.
So about your point about expanding on the exploration mechanic from 3H. I feel like Echoes did the exploration stuff better with the towns and the dungeon crawling. If they do expand on it, I’d hope they take more from that rather than the Persona style that 3H had.
I was watching this video while browsing the PS3 for some doom shopping. I was so close to finishing the video in one sitting, but I had to stop and switch videos when I discovered there are two Geronimo Stilton games on PSP. I will be right back.
Video finished, very well made! I haven’t gotten far enough in TMS Encore to see it shine, but I guess we’ll see how that goes. And yeah, the Geronimo Stilton games are pretty simple, basically interactive books with mini games, but I feel that has a specific charm to it. Honestly, it just makes me miss Living Books.
I'm gonna disagree with the always recommend Golden Deer to anyone, Blue Lions has a much more contained story, and Silver Snow answers all the same questions and more. the only plot point in Golden Deer which isn't answered in the other routes is answered in the DLC. Golden Deer is just Claude doing Silver Snow when Claude has no reason to be doing any of the things they do in Silver Snow. I always recommend people play any other route than Golden Deer.
Azure moon ignores the story and The argathans whixh îs good, but The story îs just bland. It's Dimitri being so cliche and edgy, then he touches the hand of the avatar and he îs fine, time to beat the empire. Golden deer îs în făct better structured. Golden deer îs better to be played before azure moon.
The maps are kinda junk of course I didn’t mind they are supposed to be like random fights in fields so it feels natural mages are a pain but it’s just more to think about. My one major complaint that I don’t have any reason to support them would be their terrible hit rates and wonky crit rates. Those suck.
I love Radiant Dawn for the exact same reasons you love Path of Radiance. I played it randomly in 4th grade, and have loved it ever since. I didn’t play path of radiance until 7-8 years later, so I can’t entirely relate. Great list regardless!
THANK YOU for pointing out the issues with GBA supports. I hate how limiting they were. Especially 5. WHY NOT 6 SO YOU CAN A SUPPORT TWO UNITS. I love the number of supports, it's not overwhelming like modern FEs can be, but the limited access is sooo frustrating. And replayability is not an excuse. I don't replay for supports, I replay for gameplay, using different units etc. If I play once with someone like Lowen, and then replay the game to try using Bartre instead, I'm not getting a chance to look at Lowen's other supports I couldn't access. The GBA soundfont has its charms, but I agree with you on that too. But good lord its support system can die in a hole.
Echoes is my favorite so far and I've played around half of them. Funny you mentioned your dad wanted a spiritual successor to Shining Force. That was what I played as a kid on my Genesis before I knew about fire emblem, such a masterpiece. We think a lot alike, top tier rating.
Hey! I actually got my first Fire Emblem game recently, Fire Emblem for the GBA! After I played TTYD for the first time and loving it, I was really interested to see how their other RPG franchise was! I just got it, but I haven’t made it very far.
I honestly think that Echoed is my own personal favorite. But thats mainly because of what they did by adding in Berkut and Fernand. They were some of the best written characters I’ve seen, and they add so much more to the story. It even gives us a really great lore dump for a certain antagonist in a different game that was much needed, and this really helped out so much.
was kinda surprised you didnt mention the soundtrack in any of the fates paths, i recently went back and ranked all the songs with friends and was kinda shocked how many i really, REALLY liked. those 'evil' themes are crazy good!
I am surprised that Three Houses didn't reach the top 5. I find it amazing and easily one of my top 3 best FE games. It has flaws that hold it back for me, but the good things about the game makes up for it. I do understand why you wouldn't put it as high as I expected, considering what it has done for the franchise. Maybe not as important as FE Awakening, which I think is also really good, but it is important as it did some things other games didn't do, like having battalion, interacting with other characters in the map and full voice acting. Path of Radiance is incredible too and possibly has one of the most badass villains and coolest FE lords in the franchise, that being Ike and the Black Knight. I do respect your opinion, but was just surprised of putting Three Houses at number 6. Not trying to bitch about it, as I do understand your point. Now have a good day.
It should be even lower. Threebhouses îs mediocre, especially The execution of the awful story. Which îs funny becuase azure moon îs The most liked Cuz it ignores the world building and The story.
Echoes is my favorite game of all time. I can’t explain it. I fell in love with it… The art, the music, the characters, story, gameplay… idk to me it’s a master piece.
I love how you said bring out your ancient 3ds, when I just recently got mine out to finally finish sacred stones (ambassador program). I'm hoping to finally finish it as its the only FE game I've played and I haven't played it in over five years. Maybe ill play some of the others after too...

FE2 is a masterpiece and Int Sys decided to make it even better with the remake. Hard agree with #2
Kingly response, love to see Naz
Glad you love Echoes as much as I do!
Great video bestie
1:04:10 based by putting sea salt and travelers with lyrics, its my fav fe song lol. Also, loved this tier list, as compared to some others I see around, you weren't disrespectful to your least favorite games here.
Plays clip of a man begging for mercy from his uncle.
*Two sentences later*
"It's such a feel good story"
My favourite fire emblem game is Pokémon Conquest
Great video bro keep it up
First time here.
Titania smashes everything from the second you get her, until the end of path of radiance. It’s incredible.
Surprising you only have 40k followers! Your voice is so good for this!
So about your point about expanding on the exploration mechanic from 3H. I feel like Echoes did the exploration stuff better with the towns and the dungeon crawling. If they do expand on it, I’d hope they take more from that rather than the Persona style that 3H had.
this was a really agreeable list, i love your placement of TMS
This comment gives me immense pain.
@@raphaelsorel6907 Truth does hurt.
@@Missiletainn Hmmmm….
I haven’t been this exited since Three Houses came out. It was my first Fire Emblem game. I liked the series since.
I really gotta get onto finishing Echoes
The maps are kinda junk of course I didn’t mind they are supposed to be like random fights in fields so it feels natural mages are a pain but it’s just more to think about. My one major complaint that I don’t have any reason to support them would be their terrible hit rates and wonky crit rates. Those suck.
Mamodox: I have played all this crap!
Cameraman: Was it worth it?
Mamodox: HELL NO! *stsrts to cry*
Shadows a Valentia purely because of the voice acting for me 😂
LIES LIES LIES
I love Radiant Dawn for the exact same reasons you love Path of Radiance. I played it randomly in 4th grade, and have loved it ever since. I didn’t play path of radiance until 7-8 years later, so I can’t entirely relate. Great list regardless!
Thanks for making this video, i'm just getting into fire emblem and this video is helping me ut a lot into deciding wich ones i should play now
THANK YOU for pointing out the issues with GBA supports.
It's 5 in Path of Radiance too, so you can get 1 a and 1 b, because some support have like dating in them
Very cool video madmom
Echoes is my favorite so far and I've played around half of them. Funny you mentioned your dad wanted a spiritual successor to Shining Force. That was what I played as a kid on my Genesis before I knew about fire emblem, such a masterpiece. We think a lot alike, top tier rating.
Aaaaand now I wanna play Thracia again. Thanks bro
Finally someone that doesn't absolutely hate warriors, this is rare
Thank you for this 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hey! I actually got my first Fire Emblem game recently, Fire Emblem for the GBA! After I played TTYD for the first time and loving it, I was really interested to see how their other RPG franchise was! I just got it, but I haven’t made it very far.
As a binding blade stan, im not shocked but I am disappointed
I honestly think that Echoed is my own personal favorite. But thats mainly because of what they did by adding in Berkut and Fernand. They were some of the best written characters I’ve seen, and they add so much more to the story. It even gives us a really great lore dump for a certain antagonist in a different game that was much needed, and this really helped out so much.
Fire Emblem will always be my favorite video game franchise by Nintendo. I love it over Mario and Zelda
was kinda surprised you didnt mention the soundtrack in any of the fates paths, i recently went back and ranked all the songs with friends and was kinda shocked how many i really, REALLY liked. those 'evil' themes are crazy good!
I have some slightly different placements but overall it seems we're kindred spirits. W list ❤.
So much respect for #4. I havent played it but there's always soemthing respectable about having niche opinions
I know how good somebody's opinion is according to SoV's placement.
You have exquisite taste.
Echoes is my favorite game of all time. I can’t explain it. I fell in love with it… The art, the music, the characters, story, gameplay… idk to me it’s a master piece.
I got shadows of Valentina yesterday which brought me here
Very good taste
Hooray! Someone with the same great taste in games as me
Where would you put Three Hopes on the list, out of curiosity?
Still unsure. I need some time away from it to really form a final opinion
I'll likely post a pinned comment in a few weeks talking about Three Hopes
I love how you said bring out your ancient 3ds, when I just recently got mine out to finally finish sacred stones (ambassador program). I'm hoping to finally finish it as its the only FE game I've played and I haven't played it in over five years. Maybe ill play some of the others after too...
For me it’s
Path of radiance
Radiant dawn
Genealogy
Awakening
Shadows of Valentina
For too 5
I like most of the list, RD’s soundtrack is amazing though, couldn’t disagree more on that bit
The balls it takes to put Tokyo Mirage Sessions in the top 5🤣🤣
Note: Tho I agree that it’s a lot better than people make it out to be
Here's how I'd rank the games I've played, from worst to best:
20. *Fates: Revelation*
19. *Warriors*
18. *Heroes*
17. *Three Hopes - Golden Wildfire*
16. *Fates: Conquest*
15. *Fates: Birthright*
14. *Three Houses - Silver Snow*
13. *Engage*
12. *Shadow Dragon*
11. *Three Houses - Crimson Flower*
10. *Three Houses - Verdant Wind*
9. *Three Hopes - Scarlet Blaze*
8. *Awakening*
7. *Blazing Sword*
6. *Three Hopes - Azure Gleam*
5. *Echoes: Shadows of Valentia*
4. *The Sacred Stones*
3. *Three Houses - Azure Moon*
2. *Path of Radiance*
1. *Radiant Dawn*
Really holding out hope that we'll get that FE4 remake announced soon.
If you don't replay every game in a JRPG-franchise at least six times, you have not experienced the games as they are intended.
We share top all-time slots of Tellius, FF: CC AND Majora, so I have to love you.
the buzzfeed article part was so fucking funny
I do have to disagree though and say Radiant Dawn has one of the best soundtracks in FE 😭
The reason why 4 people could capture a castle is cause they were all just built different
That #19 fakeout got me, ngl lol. The game is easily my favorite FE in general.
