The weird looking people on stage aren't technically there. They are in a way, projected onto the stage. Everyone in the crowd was given this app that could let them be seen through their phone's cameras. It's called AR technology. (That, and the characters are also on giants screens behind the stage so...) The person with the raps you always like are called Soyeon, they were the one on stage with the purple jacket. They were also the rapper with the white hair in the 2019 opening ceremoney for Giants. Soyeon always portrays the in-game character Akali, they are the blacklight rapper in Pop Stars, White haired Spray Painter rapper in Giants, rapper in The Baddest and the Motorcylce riding rapper in More. They are even the green character you saw on the countdown at the start, they are just in their base skin in that instance. If you didn't know, every time Riot makes a song the characters showed in the songs are given skins of outfits they had in that video, the characters on the countdown were the normal looks of all the KDA members with and without their skins.
Also just in case you don't know this already, when they say "skins", it's basically costumes for playable characters in the game. Kind of like in CS:GO where your guns can look different! Just wanted to put that out there, because just reading and hearing about "skins" if you're not a gamer, might sound very nasty!!
@Hezekiah Austin Why are so many of these bots floating around the League community tho? I've seen the same thing on my other League comments where like, one guy advertises their prn site and there's a bot that gives a response to it.
Girl in purple jacket was Soyeon, the voice of Akali (ninja). She'd done the motion capture, knew the choreo _cold,_ and thus knew the timing and position of the (invisible to her!) Akali projection to seemingly interact with it at 5:14.
The girl rapping is Soyeon, she is the voice of the Ninja character named Akali. The characters were made with AR (augmented reality),so you could see them through cameras streaming. And yes, that was Madison beer
They have ways to do this without the camera's adding them onto the big screen and without the use of glasses. Some stages actually project them onto the stage. Not this one though this one actually did used AR.
The rapper Is Soyeon from (G)I-DLE & She is Akali from K/DA(With Miyeon"Main Vocalist" Also from G idle or pronounced Idle in Korea Both with G and without is right way to spell it) in league world. Soyeon (vocals for Akali) has done a behind the scenes video to the live League of Legends performances. For this particular one, she and Miyeon did motion capture for the characters they represent. The Legends characters are there via augmented reality. I believe the audience could see either on the screens or through an app on their phones
Welcome to Augmented Reality. If you were there in the audience, you had to wear special glasses to see the characters on stage. Me seeing Madison on here: Jaw drops... The one with the colored hair is Jaira Burns. When this song first dropped, youtubers and a lot of other people bought this song on Spotify.
It was augmented reality. You could only see the characters on screens. Not on the actual stage. They do these performances to set off the world championships for League of Legends.
@@CapsuleGraph11 Not _just_ the big screens, there was some individual viewer connection as well. Wasn't there, don't know what exactly. It would make technical sense to me that the AR footage on the big screens was also streamed wirelessly, so it could be _watched_ on cell phones. Maybe in conjunction with gps to position the view to more or less match the viewer's seating position?
If you are crazy about that 3d modeling, look I think 2015 world Championship opening ceremony, the one with the Legends Never Die song on It, that was the first time they made this 3d thing and it was lit, I tell you
So Soyeon isnt very comfortable with her english, as said when they released OH MY GOD in english for (G)-IDLE. So they had the animation for Akali say her english verses for the live performance.
Also honestly should try the full 2019 worlds opening ceremony. It was pretty dope. Its the one that had True Damage in it that you saw. There were several other songs performed too.
Its all computer graphics. Kda is a virtual girl group. The 4 girls are alternate versions of characters from the game. They're not actually on stage. They show up on the big monitors.
So the characters on stage are not technically there for 2018. The stage was AR where if you had an app you could view it from your phone. But in 2020 the characters were actually there. But 2020 isn’t really a live performance besides Lexie who is seraphine the new KDA member since she is from China. 2020 opening was weird but a good time for new technology.
You should look into LEC's music videos. They are the caster for the professional league of legends in Europe. They do it for fun, but it looks and sounds great!
So i remember you said you watched sword art online. Do you remember Ordinal Scale and how they had augmentation reality (AR) monsters and YUI showing up in real life that you could only see through the eye lens? Same thing here but the audience was using their phones to see those.
Ok, so a few explaining for you: Countdown 8 to 1: avatar original apparence (skin) -> avatar K/DA apparence (skin). Technology: True Damage used holonet, net all over the scene to get hologram projected on. Advantage people at the show can see it live, problem: it's clearly a projection and cannot be "crisp/clear". K/DA use augmented reality: people cannot see them irl but, thru an app they got for free, spectator in the arena could use they phone camera to watch the scene live and the virtual character were there, in real time, interacting with the singers and the dancers. Btw K/DA mean Kill Death Assist which are the stat given to you at the end of a League of Legend match: Number of time you KILL another player, Number of time you were DEATH and number of time you ASSIST another player to kill and enemy.
React to 'BabyMetal - Road of Resistance' and 'BabyMetal - Rondo of Nightmare' Edit1: On the G-Idle's channel and Thutmose's youtube channel, there's a video about preparing the whole ceremony of 2019. You should also take a look at it!
Bro They were an AR animation, people who were in the crowd didn't see them on the stage, but I supose they could watch them on the screens...I don't know, I wasn't there anyway
