Just for the record, on base ng, @ 15 scadu level, 50 vigor (on a stat hungry build), with both fire negation talismans (decicated and, "everything but physical, both @ the new +3 variant), with nearly a full set of lionel armor for the fire resist, mesmers ducky dance with hit you for 75%+ of your hp if you eat all of it, and that's before getting hit during a dodge. It's not nearly as undodgeable as melania's ducky dance, but if you take any hit from it, it typically locks you into the rest of the combo. Took me a while to gain the knowlege and muscle memory to figure out how to dodge behind it.
in case you havent found out yet, the diary page is to tell you that you can parry the winter lanterns to kill them. not really lore just an explanation on how to fight them. you probably know it by now though since the dlc has been out a while
The fact that I had to read a comment that unironically says: "Buffs are not viable in actual gameplay." really made me realize why so many people are struggling with the DLC as much as they are. Golden Vow and those 60% Damage Negation spell buffs are no joke. Like, they also give you an Item version of Golden Vow and those improved Damage Negation Livers for a reason lol.
I think that buffs are being perceived as worse than ever before, because they are basically useless if you don't have enough scadutree blessings, and no amount of buffs are gonna save you from some of the dlc bosses big attacks. Also, I like helping people with Rellana and Messemer, which I think are two of the harder bosses I think, but it's comical when the host spends 10+ seconds buffing and walks in to get 2 shot 15 seconds into the fight.
No but you don't understand, I'd rather spend 8 hours on a boss fighting him raw than spend 15 seconds buffing up before the boss room and get him in 5 tries. It gives me a pure, hardcore elden ring experience
For real, like I would have struggled so much more on the final boss without having used lords divine fortification, makes the second phase so much more manageable. Granted, once it wears off, it’s time to lock back in.
Bayle needs to count as a Remembrance Boss not just because he's cool, not just because Igon exists, but because his heart is literally just a flavored remembrance that can't be duped. Like it gives you two options when communed with, it's just a remembrance

You kinda need to have a different mind set for Dragon Communion in my opinion. The style of play is a bit different to normal spell casting. You need to play like how Igon's voice actor does his job 😅. Also, you need to accept that you'll have to chug FP flasks after each cast because efficiency is not a word in the Communion dictionary 😅. Accept all those downsides and you get an incredibly powerful and versatile set of spells with insane range. My first ever run was a faith and Dragon Communion build and it was great.
c@@krishnansubramoni7801 I'm currently running through the DLC with a dragon communion build, I've had an okay time with some bosses that have locked people for hours (Agheel's Flame took care of the sunflowers pretty quick once I got the rhythm down). Plus, there's nothing better than being able to bleeeeeah and just destroy a bunch of guys. Dragonmaw is legitimately the best spell in the game too. Huge hyper armor and there are plenty of mini bosses that you can just poise break chain to death too. The Blackgaol Knight took me like 15 minutes. 😁
if you're in light load you can dodge mesmer's signature move no problem, not like the ducky dance where you need to be certain distance away and have PhD in to triangulate the right angle to roll correctly
I had a shield fighting Mesmer. I had no challenge fighting Mesmer. Shields are a symbol of the capital. Mesmer fled the Capital due to lore reasons. Lore accurate weakness: Shields.

Some people may have said this already but for future challage runs you can parry the winter lartens easily because they have one attack which will open them to up to damage. I love your content your the best elden ring content creator on youtube.
btw phil tulok, when you took extra damage from gaius after rolling, it was probably not headshot damage, but counter damage. idk how counter damage works in elden ring exactly, but in dark souls, when youre in the middle of an attack animation (i assume rolls count too), you take extra piercing/thrusting damage. its different from bloodborne in that i think in bloodborne counter affects all physical types. as far as i know, no enemies outside of bow users can headshot you in er. it might sound like a pedantic difference (i know you hate pedantry in your comment sections), but if youre fighting a boss that uses thrust attacks, being countered will matter more than against bosses that use other damage types. also you dont need to be worried about low profiling your head into a boar tusk

About the Messmer spinny thrusty attack being the new ducky dance, I called it that at first but then I realized it was really easy to dodge. You can dodge either into or away from the original spin, dodge into the thrusts, and then dodge past the dive and follow-up explosion

Having seen you play through NG+7 vs my fresh character play through, it is terrifying to see how hard it is to proc any status effect or stance break especially against Radahn

I know that you won’t learn on the past, but for future runs, try pest threads on the furnace golems, it breaks them so fast. Much more enjoyable fight.
I unironically loved the Scautree Avatar. Maybe I'm weird, but I loved learning and dodging his patterns, might actually be my favorite in the DLC. Also, I liked the boar boss way more than I thought at first, maybe it was realizing that I could perfect block the charge with the giant's crusher and that one crystal tear, but idk.
The wicker men with the nearby spirit springs are actually pretty quick to kill relative to the others if you're not restricting your equip options. While your restrictions don't allow for it, Flame, Protect Me, fire shield talisman +3, and fire resistant armor make it possible to tank the fire attack and spam pots. It'd have to be furnace pots on NG+7 though.

hi so just as a quick tip for final boss that could help when he throws the meteors run to the left or right and jump before they hit the ground it should make them easier to dodge. love your videos and good luck beating the dlc.

I know that you won’t learn on the past, but for future runs, try pest threads on the furnace golems, it breaks them so fast. Much more enjoyable fight.

I unironically loved the Scautree Avatar. Maybe I'm weird, but I loved learning and dodging his patterns, might actually be my favorite in the DLC. Also, I liked the boar boss way more than I thought at first, maybe it was realizing that I could perfect block the charge with the giant's crusher and that one crystal tear, but idk.

The wicker men with the nearby spirit springs are actually pretty quick to kill relative to the others if you're not restricting your equip options.
While your restrictions don't allow for it, Flame, Protect Me, fire shield talisman +3, and fire resistant armor make it possible to tank the fire attack and spam pots. It'd have to be furnace pots on NG+7 though.
