If they were honest, they'd have something vaguely Floydian (Grantchester Eclipse off the top of my head - and to keep it 'dark') as I hear as much of that band as I do post-rock. I see 12 studio albums listed so I've got a lot of listening to do!
Hi Jim, Only know two albums by them so far. I love Great escape. Immediately bought it after hearing it on this channel. I didn’t like Banefyre that much. So I’m curious what this album will bring. The start is very familiar. Slow music with talking. I hear Pink Floyd guitar sounds. And the singing is a bit Floydy as well at the start. But I’m not impressed yet. It’s a bit dreary and muddy but things improve a lot when the tempo goes up. I still don’t consider this to be a very good song; maybe a good song at max. Second song: the start reminds me of Great Escape album. And further up the song sounds like a copy…or is it the other way around? Which album came first? Good song; the last part is very good 😊. Third song: don’t like the singing at all. That usually means I won’t like the song whatever the quality of the music.

They sound like AIC a little.
My vinyl version of this came with a notch cut-out of the in-groove section, seems like a few pressing plant issues. Nevertheless, a very good album 🙂
