This project is currently in the preliminary design phase and is not currently funded. However, the northern portion, from I-10 to Riggs Road, is included in the project list of the recently-approved half cent sales tax extension in Maricopa County. So... your guess is as good as mine. You can get more specific info on this website: azdot.gov/projects/central-district-projects/sr-347-corridor-widening-i-10-city-maricopa
Maricopa is nice. Hwy 347 isn’t. If this wasn’t the main way to get in and out of Maricopa the town would be much better. Traffic is awful without an accident but when there is an accident be prepared to sit. Another thing to consider is which little community you live in to get you in and out of town. I lived in Tortosa and it was a drive just to get out to 347 to get any where. When we was out there it was super cheap to live out there.
You are spot on! The reason why homes are so much more affordable in Maricopa is the 347 being the one way in and out. Nevertheless, for someone who works remote or doesn't need to drive into Phoenix 5 days a week or at least doesn't need to drive during rush hour, it can be a good option. I've had clients who've loved it there. When I've gone in and out of Maricopa, I have had about a 25-30 minute drive (non rush hour). And yes, I'd prefer the communities with better access to the 347 IF I needed to use it regularly. If not, some of the communities further away are really nice.
25-30 mins depending on driving your to Chandler lol. We lived here 7 years now yes love it except when there's accidents well yes you're STUCK for awhile and dust storms. I don't have to worry about anymore i work from home. More and more business is growing as well. Home Depot will be complete by Oct or end of this years finally! We shop at Home Depot frequently. We live in El Dorado community quite and peaceful We're not going anywhere.
Definitely not for everyone, but hands down they have the most affordable options for new construction and I have clients who love living there. Where did you end up afer moving out of Maricopa?
