    Caitlin Clark will put butts in seats and eyeballs on TV for WNBA games this season. An estimated 2.4 million watched the 2024 WNBA Draft, never having a million people watch prior.

    Ppl may not like Taursi, but she is the truth...or at least was the truth compared to the kind of player she is today! She been talking trash to and about her competition for over 20 years! Its not going to stop now, and i would agree that the new fans are too sensitive! The way you shut a talker up is to...smoke them out...on the court of course! 🤣

    Very good presser. The great the about the Fever vs Mercury game is that it is not until June 30. Both teams will be very well set by then and close to top form. Caitlin will be fully established for the "showdown". It's going to be a lot of fun to watch.

    Exactly. Despite the sarcasm, your point is correct. Like it or not, the W is a business and if you cant expand the demegrafic you'll fail. Hold on to the old way of business usually out of jealousy( which ran a deficit every year with Dianna at the forefront) lost money hand over fist. The new exciting players resonate. Hate it, like it or indifferent. You as a business only look for return on investment.

    Maybe, because these older players made the game all about trash talk and physically decking opponents knocking players to floor, fighting, intentional fouls, technicals, etc like Diana Taurasi are the reason the WNBA could not get fans to follow the WNBA. Maybe, if all these new players are allowed to show their true skill and talents the seats in the arenas will be full. Watching these college players has been fascinating and they have worked hard to develop amazing shots, passes, rebounds, steals... that is where you get the people to buy tickets. The bullying that Diana Taurasi is known for is the old version of basketball. Encouraged in NBA and WNBA by promoters... they need to catch up on what the fans are excited about...

    So, let me guess. The “learning curve” the new rookies should expect change. You would be right talking about Caitlin Clark. Dianna has five reporters who care, and Caitlin has hundreds (thousands if they had room). Haters are going to hate, but hate doesn't pay the rent except the rent she paysceith Caitlin being in her head.

      The "new fans are really sensitive these days". 🤭🤣 Well the same such fans in droves are going to bring in $$$ to the league so you better not cross them. At least she's acknowledging the thousands of people who'll watch the games bec of the rookies, mainly CC. She does have a point. Some of the bran-nu fans are overly sensitive because they aren't aware that Di is a trash talker and opinionated. She's been this way her entire career. Its never been a problem until the recent fandom came aboard. Hopefully, she uses sawft words in the future.

    She sounds really old by having to reminisce back to good old days. Even LeBron doesn't talk that way. I would have thought she would retire before Parker.
    Blaming the "new fans" for her lack of understanding is not a good sign. Yes, there is a level of adjustment to any level and new environment but her stance doesn't bode well considering she never had any drop off (which she will probably claim to be her greatness).
    I just don't see her greatness when we frequently laugh at how boring the WNBA is due to lack of scoring and her many misses from her layups. Not to mention the many airballs her teammate Grimes puts up.
    CC has already achieved more greatness for the WNBA due to the attendance and ticket sales rise. Something that none of the current "great" have never even close to getting. Not to mention CC's sponsorship and shoe deals.
    Tbh, I don't see any of current greats or even new crop of players come close to creating stardom and scoring that CC will attain. The scoring title will be decided before the halfway mark. I do see the Phoenix Mercury missing the playoffs since they have too many old players.

    • @Blacklist324
      @Blacklist324 Місяць тому +1

      Well, she's sort of right. Caitlin Clark fans does at times seem to show a lack of understanding. Like you're talking about scoring titles when pro sports is about WINNING GAMES and eventually champions.

    • @jihyotwice3159
      @jihyotwice3159 Місяць тому

      @@Blacklist324 Talk about calling the kettle black when CC hasn't even played one game. I predicted the scoring title because that is what she can control and yet you expect CC to lead the team to winning? When she is just a rookie unlike these greats that downplay her.
      Ok, let me make a prediction about winning. The Fever will win more games that her Phoenix Mercury and CC will lead them to the playoffs. I don't know how the Mercury made the playoffs with a losing record and how the playoffs are done so I don't know if Mercury will miss it or not this year.
      Compare them both as players and how many games each team wins.

      @@BDE360 Exactly. Keep on blaming these new fans that don't understand.
      Why is she in San Diego and not in your own stadium in front of your own fans? No excuse for conflicting venues cause the Suns got swept and the Pacers leading with Caitlin rallying up support. Does the Suns even know who Taurasi is? Cause they surely know who Caitlin is.
      Have you seen the Fever daily press conference after every training camp practices? Damm. Every teammate of Caitlin can benefit from the attention she is getting.
