One of the top 10 live recordings ever.... it is incomparable.
Zoom Club or Napoleon Bonaparte parts 1 & 2 are great tracks , but they have many, one of the most underrated bands of rock.... many bands cite them as a major inspiration.
I'm 59 years old , I just found out about Budgie when their singer & bassist Burke Shelley passed away , I haven't been this excited about a band in a very long time , their studio albums are filled with heavy riffs , I can't believe I just found out about this groundbreaking band !
Saw them a few times in the 70's. Total kickass rock songs and sublime ballads. They deserved much more recognition than they ever got.
What a killer song by a killer band! RIP Burke Shelley and thanks for the music!
Check out the song “Parents” of the same album.
Welcome to Budgie hombre!!!!!! This is one of the greatest songs ever produced that nobody outside of San Antonio Tx had ever heard of!!!!! Thank you Joe Anthony of 99.5 KISS FM pirate radio back in the 70’s for turning on a generation of rock and rollers to some European fringe styles!!!!!!!! I saw them live with Legs Diamond (you should definitely definitely check them out) in 1976 at the old municipal auditorium in SA as a 16 year old and it was too perfect!!!! Granted a lot of weed smoking was going on between 3500 ppl but it has always been one of my favorite concerts ever!!!!!! Go down to rabbit hole 🕳 hombre you won’t be sorry with either band!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!!!!😍😎🍸
Awesome post! Thanks!
San Antonio live récord is the best budgie live ever sound
Again one vastly underrated band who issued several top notch albums... Classic drums, bass, guitar combo on a par with many incarations! They could rock out with the best but for a really beautiful quiet ballad try "Slipaway."
This was cooler than an Inuit's underpants. Heard a lot of Led Zep influence, especially with the acoustic break, but definitely their own sound. Great stuff.
Interesting what one can find on the internet: "Traditionally known as a 'naatsit', the underwear is adorned with beads and would have been sewn together by a woman using strips of seal pelt. ... The naatsit was the only undergarment the Inuit would have worn next to their bare skin and it was often decorated with beads of glass, with the seal fur turned outside."
They are from 68 by consecuence they influence Led Zeppelin music 🎵 budgie is the beginning ❤
I love Budgie always have ,I like how you spent time trying to understand the lyrics at the end .love from Wales 🏴
legends of hard drivin rockin riffs, 3 man welsh icons of metal.😎👍
“Hearty laff! oooh oh wow killer fire”
Subbed!
I shall now go thru yer archives and enjoy u and SFA AND all the rest
Budgie though. So much to enjoy !
Diolch!
Napolean is the way to go, awesome band see them many times live always brilliant
Parents like Child in Time, and Crash Course in Brain Surgery like Fireball and Paranoid. Very underrated in USA, But Van Halen played In for the Kill in their club days. ( ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)✌
My mum taught most of Budgie in Tredegar South Wales!
GREAT band with so many killer songs and albums but for me, growing up, If I Were Britannia I'd Waive The Rules was always my go to.
Impeckable - Full album
Power Supply - Full album
I'm still discovering their music , and I'm amazed by Budgie !
Me, too!
These guys never got the attention they deserved. They have many good songs and on this song as it kicks ass its the slow part that just groves me. His voice just puts you so relaxed then bam!
Go find Black Velvet Stallion and you get to be blown away again!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 So says Austin Tx!!!!!😎🍸
Parents is also another maga track by them
Hello! As a old timer metalhead i Love this song. Hope you have great and safe holidays
Happy Holidays to you, too, friend!
Saw Budgie a couple of times in the 1970s - great live band! To all the guys and girls who were regulars at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester back in the day, can I just say "Wally!" (If you were there, you'll know what that means!) =)
Sadly Burke shelley past away yesterday and will be missed by all
Oh wow . . . That I only recently discovered this band existed and absolutely loved this song . . . again, wow.
Burke Shelley has died r I p. Great band budgie
Love for the sentiment about the band. The news about Burke, terrible and sad.
Love this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You would love napoleon bonaparte
The only reason budgie didn’t transcend as zeppelin or purple did was that they where from Cardiff Wales 🏴 and not England 🏴 otherwise is impossible to explain according to they’re master class music they produce influence so many heavy metal 🎸 bands from 80 and 90, even Rush ❤
To get a whole chicken you would need a flock of seagulls let alone a Budgie.
The budgerigar also known as the common parakeet or shell parakeet, is a small, long-tailed, seed-eating parrot usually nicknamed the budgie or in American English, the parakeet.
That's what keeps me doing this channel. Input and engagement like this. Seriously, well done!
Wow! Heard the name, never gave 'em the time of day. Maybe because Budgie is another name for your junk in Britain. So geeky, I love it. So much better than Greta Von Fleet, imo. Loved it. I do wonder if Rush was aware them. In any case, it was all good. I hope they have other killer tunes!
lol regarding junk reference
@@intothemusic908 Budgie smugglers = tight swimming pants
"Breadfan" was later covered by Metallica.
Yes, I did mention this toward the end.
@@intothemusic908 Budgie wrote it metallica wrecked it I remember Tony Bourge doing a interview with the welsh press "I appreciated the cheque". When Tony left the guitar player they replaced him with was no slouch Huw lloyd langton fresh out of hawkwind at the time.
Thank you@@lewisb85!
