I have given Army Painter a second chance. They are one of the cheapest paint brand in my country, and their more recent products have been great. I'm also excited for the John Blanche paint sets that they have on pre order right now. You did a great job on this review. Thanks for sharing!
Great review, I haven't tried these paints myself but I'm considering picking some up. By the way, for the naysayers, Vince Venturella himself has incorporated a number of the Warpaints Fanatic range into his regular paint rotation. He is incredibly picky about what paints he uses (only the best is good enough) so I think it's safe to assume these are a good product.
So the reason it is still called flexible triads is because you are just supposed to choose 3 paints out of the flexible triads. They said that they would be adding more to the flexible triads over time.
I love you for calling the flexible triad system "hexads", because I've called them that since the start and it bothered me that no one else would, haha!
I still use the original Army Painter paints a ton...you know, the ones you can't shake up, and have minimal opacity. I prefer the colors found in the original paint line. You nailed it when you pointed out the lower saturation of the Fanatic line. Very cool video!
I'll have a look for the hexads, especially for some color schemes I'm not familiar with! I tried making purple fabric last weekend, the results were... difficult to obtain! And are only passable by my standards in the end.
i was one of the few that liked the old warpaints, they were great for glazing. i was hyped for the new fanatic paints, but was very disappointed after i tested them, the self lvling is not that good how they promist. also these paints contains highly toxic chemicals and for some reason the bottles are missing warning signs, so dont lick your brush and dont let the paint touch your skin
@@AlexMinis the chemicals (5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one and 2-methyl-2h-isothiazol-3-one) are written on the bottle, if you then look it up what it is, then you see that they are highly toxic. i checked on ECHA CHEM database and asked a friend, that works in a lab, about that. what me baffles that the warning signs are missing on the bottles.
You're right, they're definitely less saturated. That's the trade off for their great coverage, which is why I have given Army Painter Fanatic a pass, unfortunately.
Personally I have never had an issue with any of their paints and I love em. In my long history of painting miniatures these were a breath of fresh air. Having used Citidel colours for decades, I made the switch slowly and now I use Army Painter ranges almost exclusively in my projects. However, in my experience, along the years I've discovered that paints are not the entire problem. Peoples expectations and painting styles are a big factor in how paints are going to work for you. Which is why I think Army Painter for me has matched my painting methods perfectly. same can be said for someones methods using Citidel or other brands etc. But for me.. Army Painter are amazing.

Thank you :D
Yes the John Blanche kit seem's really cool (Based on the Ninjon and Trovarion videos ^^)

Yes I get it haha But it's also made to be used as an hexad like they show on their channel

Oh I didn't know for the toxicity ! Where did you get the info ? That's really bad

Yes that's also why I still prefer the TTC range and the Vallejo, they are my best two brand in my opinion :)
Difficult to get in Singapore😂
Haha yes I guess ^^
