Taikyoku Sandan Shotokan Kata

Taikyoku Sandan - This is the third of six Taikyoku kata called Taikyoku Sandan. Back Stance is introduced in this kata. Taikyoku translates to First Cause in English.
In Master Gichin Funakoshi’s book, ‘Karate-Do Kyohan’, he writes; “In karate, there is no advantage in the first attack. It is for these reasons that I have given them the name Taikyoku.”
