Been a solo traveler for the last 20 plus years, same reason, Cruising is the best way, I plan at least 2 per year. Glad to see others are getting out here and not waiting on friends and family, tried that didn't work out, I work to Travel.
@lindajackson9247 Yes ma'am, I say "I work to Travel" all the time!!! ❤As soon as I get back from vacation, I start planning my next vacation. It gives you something to look forward to.
I'm planning a solo cruise for the first time as well. I have been on several cruises with other people and I have never been on a cruise where I got to do everything I wanted to do because I like to be mindful of other people's finances. This solo cruise will allow me to indulge.
Love this! I absolutely agree with you! Especially as solo female travelers, we always need to watch our backs and not get too lit. With basic precautions, I am more comfortable and relaxed on a cruise as compared land trips. My first solo cruise was a group cruise, and that is also a great way for someone nervous about solo traveling to get started.
Took my first solo trip in 1994 to Las Vegas. It can be daunting at first but I highly recommend giving it a try. Cruising is a great way to start. Love your content ❤
I THINK I need this. I am going to be a first time solo traveler and honestly, I'm so nervous. Wish me luck folks. I'm so ready and nervous, but I'm doing it❤❤❤
I recommend Virgin for relaxing and lots of partying with no kids onboard and great food; Royal, NCL and MSC if you want to combine relaxation and partying (there will be families but I find fewer children in the suites areas and those that are there are usually well behaved). Also, I enjoy MSC because the passengers are usually European and you are in the small minority of Americans onboard which is fun in itself; Seaborne and Celebrity for R&R, great evening music venues, 5-star food, unique excursions, and elevated experiences with the likelihood of a little older crowd (50’s-70’s) except for Celebrity’s Caribbean itineraries (40’s-70’s). Also, Alaska draws an older crowd no matter what cruise line it is, so book being prepared for that. Wishing you fun planning and a great time on your trip!
Awww!! It’s fine once your feet step on the cruise ship it’s a great feeling to exhale and be excited. The sail away party you wouldn’t even think about the ship moving cause you are having a blast since it’s the kick off. You’ll be fine trust me and will love it!
I met my husband while I was solo cruising 25 years ago. It was the best cruise of my life. I am also a very independent person and would solo again in a heartbeat. I enjoy doing things on my own and always have my Kindle with me to keep me company.
I've been on about dozen cruises and love...not none solo. I booked my first solo cruise for May. Will be going to Alaska...I am so excited. I'm an introvert and love taking pictures...I got a balcony cabin..So I can spend at much time as i like on my balcony taking pictures. Also going Whale watching, a train ride, a few other tours. I had issues on my last few trips. So I decided to go solo for all of the reasons you suggested.
Now the only thing left for you to do is upgrade to a suite with full access to the spa on the ship! There’s nothing like fully pampering yourself while vacationing!
I tried it 3 weeks ago at 40 I love and recommended it. You’ll get the idea, safety and fun knowing you are not alone you’ll meet other solo travelers which I liked about it.
My wife and I took 2 or 3 cruises a year for the last 8 or 10 years and we loved it. The main reason was that we only had to unpack once! And then we got to experience all these cool places, and never had to make the bed or clean up after ourselves (not that we were messy!). Now that my wife has passed away (3 months ago), I will likely be cruising solo for the first time -- when I'm mentally and emotionally ready to cruise again. Virgin Voyages looks like a good possibility when that time comes: my wife and I never got to go on Virgin, so it'll be a new experience.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Virgin would be an amazing way to celebrate her life and memory and reconnect with yourself when you’re ready. Reach out if you’d like help planning. Sending you love ❤️
I was anti cruise for a long while. But i was a solo traveler long before lol. I did my first cruise in oct 2022 for my bday on carnival. It wasnt as bad as i thought. My 2nd was this last New Year on Virgin! Wasn't solo but baby that was an experience. I booked Irresistible med for this summer. Solo travel isn't for everyone, but that freeing spirit warms my heart. If course your vlogs have helped with trying virgin. If i would have tried virgin first.. I'd be hella mad on carnival 😂😂😂
@@TheJennDanielle it's the all inclusive for me. And no kids. Girl my bday is Halloween weekend. I was hyped like oh this will be great no kids, they will be in school. Lol gurl who lied to me? They were trick or treating... in costumes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I'm crying reading this because I was the same way. I'm guessing there's a lot being home schooled because they're outside all year! Whew, I know they were having a time in those costumes.@@1charmaineb
LOL 😂 This is why I’ve started pricing myself away from children. Suites or more expensive lines (aside from Virgin) does it every time b/c Virgin doesn’t always offer the itinerary & dates I want. There aren’t very many children in the suites only areas on lots of ships and there are none to just a handful on more expensive ones (Celebrity, Seaborne, etc).
I took my first solo cruise last month and even though I can count the number of interactions I had with other passengers on one hand. It was very relaxing. I plan on doing a solo transatlantic cruise in January of 25. A Caribbean cruise with fam in August of 25 then Alaska cruise in Nov of 25. I’m hooked.
I have cruised several times with my partner, I finally went on a solo cruise and LOVED it!! It was only a five day cruise which was perfect for my first time solo. I did two ship excursions, both snorkeling which were wonderful, went to every show, relaxed, had delicious food, etc. I only purchase a couple alcoholic drinks, enough for me since I am no longer a very big drinker, plus I did receive a couple of coupons for 50% off wine/beer glass. I am familiar with cruising so felt very comfortable on the ship. Give it a try! 😊
Great vlog! Don’t know how you ended up on my feed, but all of those reasons are why I enjoy solo travel. I actually started doing fly & stays long before I did cruises so navigating different countries & cities is 2nd nature to me. I do enjoy cruising too and recently started booking myself suites for the upgraded experience. I’ve tried travel with friends and family but when they have different outlooks, senses of adventure, tastes in entertainment, and different finances it can be challenging. So, you go girl … see the world on your own terms, enjoying your own company, all while making new acquaintances along the way!!
@@TheJennDanielle I am happy to share info b/c I worked in the industry for 15 years. If you would like to share your business email address, I am happy to send you my contact info.
I will be subscribing to your channel. I take my first cruise on Carnival in November with 15 family and friends but going solo in January on NCL. Never heard of Virgin cruises. Will have to check them out when I return. Thanks for the insights.
A couple firsts for me: I take my first solo cruise in a couple months in Europe which will also make it my first solo trip abroad for my birthday. I'm crazy excited! Like the reasons you listed in the video, my friends agreed to to trip and then bailed close to final payment due date. The cruise price couldn't be beat, my flight and day before cruise hotel had been booked. Why cancel? It's my birthday so I'm going! I'm looking forward to exploring, having new experiences, and meeting new people.
I’m so glad you’ll be able to celebrate your birthday despite being solo. I just celebrated my birthday solo on a cruise it was the best birthday I’ve ever had.
I appreciate this video so much!! I took my very first solo trip to Disney World in 2019 and it’s sparked my love for solo traveling. I’d love to go on a solo cruise someday🥹
@@TheJennDanielle I booked one for Haiti this December!!! I’m so excited, I’ve been binge watching all of your videos to prepare for it lol IM SO EXCITED!!!!😭😭😭
Love the vlog! I’ve done some solo traveling but on a small scale. Going on a family cruise soon but thinking about solo cruising. What is dining like solo on a cruise? Do you sit at a table by yourself? Is it awkward?
My best friend and I are thinking about going on the same cruise but have solo cabins. She loves to snorkel and I am legally blind and physically restricted on some things to do. She can snorkel and I can sit on the beach. I snore and she doesn’t. She takes a very long time to get ready and I don’t. She can’t go to sleep without tv on. I need silence.
I've never been on a cruise but I'm thinking about it. I'd be going solo. However, here's my problem. I'm not much of people person. I don't like big crowds. Social anxiety. I have no idea why I think being stuck on a ship with thousands of strangers is a good idea lol but I'm tempted to try it.
Virgin Voyages would be great for you. If you get a balcony, you’d be able to see outside without having to be around others. Let me know when you’re ready and I can help you with all the hiding spots 😂
Great video! i'm looking to go on my first cruise and solo cruise this November 2024. As a single professional hoping to experience culture, adventure & nightlife, Is there any cruises you or anyone would highly recommend?
Hey, so sorry for the delay in seeing this. I’d recommend Virgin Voyages. It’s a good mix of nightlife and upscale vibes and best of all, it’s adults only.
