Seriously this doesn't look like it was filmed on a smartphone at all. The quality of the footage and a shaky cam usually gives it away but this has none of it. I'm amazed.

The dynamic range is pretty impressive, but hardware stabilization is noticeably better, at least from what I’m seeing.

MrJewripper totally serious. it wss just announced a few hours ago. You can listen to the audio that the model3ownersclub posted from the call with Elon Musk. He said the autopilot will work with nvidia, amd and Intel, there was some debate between amd and nvideo and they decided to go with nvidia titan because it was more powerful. I assume it's probably the autonomous chips nvidia just announced.
It's no surprise, the current cars have 2 nvidia chips in them. one for the display the other for interpreting the cameras.

Well quite honestly I think he is surprised at the quality. The pixel is pretty impressive with its all software image stabilization. A lot of the times he looks like users are using a stabilizer hooked up to a phone. The results can look very pro-sumer.

Look, I was one of those people who at first thought that the Pixel was extremely overpriced and that every other Android phone was a better option. Now I have done more research and my opinion has changed. Yes the Pixel is lacking in some things that it should have in 2016 which makes it a bit overpriced, but in my opinion I think that the Pixel is one of the best phones you can buy and one that I wouldn't mind buying. And that's coming from someone who only bought and still currently uses Samsung Galaxy flagship phones. Is the S7 better? Well that's subjective to the user.

Why? Its overpriced, and there are a whole lot of cars at the price that are much better looking, or are more luxurious and offer more to the buyer.
If you're buying for the electric - buy a Chevrolet Bolt/Opel Ampera (unless you live in a place where the steering wheel is on the right). Cheaper, and available starting in a couple months.
If you're buying for luxury - the S Class is your objectively best choice.
Ace, for the same price you can have a lot more. But its a trade off, for this price you can have an E63, S class, panamera, but theyre not in the same category. They for one, use gas, dont have a lot of these tech features, and are slower. Look at it like this, you pay the 70 - 110 grand, you either have a gas car with normal modern features or an electric car with less luxury but more tech.
Tameem Z People buying at that price want the best in luxury. Massaging seats, leather and wood trimmings, etc. Tesla has a spartan feature list.
Tesla's cars aren't appealing to luxury buyers who want those features. They appeal to tech nerds who really don't give a crap about cars and bother dealership with questions about the infotainment system, and ask about Apple Carplay. They'll be happy to see autopilot eliminating their need to drive so they can use their damned smartphones instead of focusing on the road and enjoying the drive.

Jay, Not quite there. If I recall correctly, it's designed for really tight parking spaces. So you can line up the Tesla to a tight parking space, get out, and then it'll pull itself in. And of course you can reverse the process so that you can call the car back out of the tight space and get back in. Helps a lot if you have a tight garage.

For me it's OIS > no stabilization > digital stabilization
promaty Check the OIS on LG G4, the phone I currently have, it looks glitchy as fuck. This is so much smoother, also Samsung with it's OIS is more twitchy than this.

Woah, putting his hand up to show the laser autofocus speed really hit home for me. Refocusing on anything on my 6S and is visually slow, and the 7 doesn't seem too much faster there without laser autofocus still. Though I think OIS slightly outdoes Googles gyro bound stabilization, but it comes pretty close.

The video stabilization does have pretty a obvious jump when it gets to the edge of the stabilization area, but considering how smooth and amazingly stable the footage is I'd say that's a very worthwhile trade-off.

Miguel Yanez not gonna change for 1080p. It's a stabilization issue. Make the video too stable and it will have these kinds of jumps when the stabilization resets the positioning.

The kind of people that spend this kind of money care, a lot. Its competitors are the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes S Class, to name a few. Look at the S Class, then look at the Tesla. If you're like the buyers of this segment of cars, the Tesla is spare and Spartan. The S Class is posh and elegant.
I beg to differ, in 2015 it was the best selling full size luxury sedan. It sold more than the next 3 cars combined. (Audi A6; A8 and BMW 6 Series). It was also the best selling in it's class in 2014 too.

Could you do a focus on how you recharge that when you are on a week end ? Like where to find recharge points. I love the concept but the usability, this is what would stop me from getting one.
GFmanaic I believe the nav system in the car shows all the supercharger locations, and you can plan roadtrips and it'll recommend where to charge and everything
I was in a test driving with this car and the seller stayed it automatically calculates the route to the next charging station, all you need to do is put in the location you want to go to.
i must say, video quality is great, but that EIS sure is doing something weird, when you where moving around the car the video kept doing some sharp moves to the right, as if it was lagging behind while keeping the image smooth, same happened when you moved down on your knees to get a better view of the front of the car, and the camera did this sharp upward movement to the right to correct the image.

5:21 You are confusing what a spoiler does with what an Air Foil (or wing) does. Yes, both can keep the rear of a car from rising up but they do it in completely different ways. A wing creates the downforce I think you are talking about when you say "pressing air down" whereas a spoiler changes the aerodynamic profile of the rear end of the vehicle to prevent lift. Most spoilers on modern cars are cosmetic but since this is Tesla, they probably did some wind tunnel testing with that one and at the very least it improves flow a little bit at high speeds.

MKBHD, I absolutely adore your tech reviews and think you are the best in the business. However, some observations from a car enthusiast:
A. A car is a physical, visceral, experience. Calling it a tech product (which it is) is a disservice. Cars are about how you experience the world while inside. They are not about experiencing thoughts and ideas like you would on a smartphone
B. It is beautiful but looks nothing like any jag, aston, or maserati
C. If I am correct, with current battery tech 100kwh is the theoretical max energy density for a car like this. You will not see a 120D anytime soon - unless they start stacking two rows of cells or fill up the trunk.
D. Aerodynamic touches like that trunk spoiler do absolutely nothing for a car that weighs this much.

I’m not bagging on this youtube tech reviewer but im generally on youtube to look up car news, old cars, imports, etc. And when i seen this in my recommended i was like i know this is gonna be a watered down version of a car review without any of the juicy info for us car enthusiasts. But i didnt get angry i was simply disappointed because my initial thoughts were right. But if videos like these inspire random people for some odd reason to like cars and get into them the more the merrier. Just wish he could have gotten a legit car review to help him out with this video at least lol.

Electricity is free if you charge at a Tesla Supercharger. I live within 20 minutes of one, so every weekend I just drive there and have a cup of coffee or lunch while it's charging. It gets to around 80% in an hour, so it's super fast.
That's more than decent,id say that's exceptional,and he say'd 360$ a month for gas not 3600$, typo ?

what about charging time and battery life?
There is companies that use Tesla's in their rideshare fleet and have already 200k miles on a 2015 model. Over the duration, it had a 6 percent battery loss and didn't have to replace the brakes either due to the regenerative system; think of it like a super sporty golf cart but I wouldn't recommend driving on the golf course if you want to be allowed to visit there again.
Charge time, on the supercharger network, from 10 percent to 80 percent is about 30 mins dependent on your battery size. For my 90D, having timed it once, it took 28 mins and 13 seconds from 9 percent to 80. It does slow some afterwards for the last 20 percent.
I'd encourage you to visit their website for their interactive charge and distance calculators as you'll have plenty of questions if you are the curious type.

Both are impressive tech! The Pixel is just a fractionally inferior to bigger cameras. Only weakness in this case is the noticeable jolt while walking.
