God I remember being there. From what I remember it was new asphalt that was laid down and it was actually fairly soft and slow on the wheel. The launch box was also too far from the down ramp/rail. This was still the infancy of contests with inline and even skate. The evolution of parks and contest spots is unreal. Either way inline and skateboard never mixed well obstacles wise.
yeah exactly at least it has some similarity to a street unlike today's courses that are shared with BMX and are all about big air and big wipe outs :\
Wow they couldn’t even get commentators that knew the names of the tricks. “there he goes with a one footed grind with a grab” Lmao you mean a Backslide?
Was just about to say what you said lol. And hand plants are monkey plants haha. Seems like they had to interest commentating. Be sick if it was ppl like Julio and petty commentating! Peace
Of course when I was 13 I fucking hated all this Xgames shit, but now I wonder if I really would have hated if rollerblading blew up like everything else...

Pretty incredible they were able to get any sort of speed/amplitude at all with such a spaced out, flat course

I just came to see the baggy jeans
Finally in 8:49 says backslide lol. Thank you. And one elevation to another meaning he cleared it haha. This is funny to watch.
Beside the spins, everything was hella sloppy. But this is what made us who we are today as skaters.
This is great history! Do you happen to have a copy of other segments too?
Who knew piles of laundry could skate so well
Weird hearing Jack Edward's call inline
Arlo bossing it right here. Texas style.
❤❤
Why was things so colorful in the 90s?😂
Arlo was pissed off about something you could hear him after his run... probly the course it wasn't great

The main announcer is a famous bruins announcer. I guess because hockey is similar?

Dion Anthony best run
These where my days skating. I'm old now but I still skate
Skate? Lame. Your mom can rollerblade.
what a shitty park, they were fighting so hard for speed
Maybe gaining some speed wouldn´t be so hard if they just didn´t wear their own bodyweight worth of clothes
The skates were actually the problem.
Park said bmx all over it , and the ramps was steep
Wow Jacklone with like the worst run I've ever seen!!!
yeah that was disappointing.. he seemed off and sketchy
modern ancient cultuRE
I’m not sure Arlo was taking it seriously enough
WTF 360 soul on 1996
