Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2012
- The initial excitement of being selected for Officer Cadet School (OCS) - the only pathway to becoming an officer in the Singapore Armed Forces - soon gives way to feelings of uncertainty and nervousness. Am I good enough? What am I doing this for? Cadets Shawn Chng and Sean Lai discover that the answer to those questions is the first step in their 9-month journey.

''now it will be 265 days, then it will be 265 hours, then it will be 265 minutes, and then 265 seconds.'' this is the single best motivation line ever.
Wow, every series by One Dash 22 just gets better and better!
memories..
OCS has been the best time of my army life
Feels great to look back~
just here to remind you to look back again
General H. Norman Schwarzkopf once said : “Leadership is a potent combination of strategy and character. But if you must be without one, be without the strategy.”
To Lead, To Excel, To Overcome.
Don't forget those in mono intake as well. 2 years of hardship + 10 years of NSmen... I m proud of u guys !
Great! Waited for this!
I came from here, learn it and till nw i live by it. i guess what i gain most is character development, and you have to go through hardship...there's no easy way to molding someone. The best way is still going through shit, learning, reflecting and realizing it yourself. such is the training outcome in OCS.
The military skills may not stay relevant, but the character development and 'soft skills' learnt in OCS and as an officer stays with you for the rest of your life.
Somewhat true brother, it's also due to the fact that since the training tempo is very fast paced in a training institute, long term service bearers in the instructorship role may suddenly leave a huge void when they suddenly leave after say ie. 3 years. The NSF instructor can serve his time with one batch, pass his knowledge down and still leave without impacting much of the tempo. The newer instructors coming in have time to ramp up their knowledge before their batch boys come in.
Thank you for the video, bring memories of when I had my posting... immediately boarding the tonner from Tekong to Pasir Lebar. The camp was intimidating, culture was shocking. OCS, instills the honor, pride and professionalism. Be it 20 years ago or now, climbing the tower now, the peng kang hill of yester years. OCS make soldiers into commanders. LEAD, EXCEL and OVERCOME to all past, present and future commanders!
Thanks for it
Yes I am. It will get better!
1:34 😂 miss those 9 months so badly!
I read some cyberpioneer story about the series and there are quite a lot of cadets featured. More than 2 chinese boys definitely. You will see the others coming up in next few episodes.
OMG PLEASE DO ONE FOR THE MAKING OF THE COMMANDOS!!!
Before SISPEC. Its was know as SAFINCOS in SAFTI. That was 1989 when I was there doing my 3 months of NCOs' course.
The long ride from PIE back to camp is always painful. :)
yay. wait... did you guys answered my request the other time when I ask about making a documentary about life in OCS?
singapore... somedays i miss it. if i had to do NS all over again, I'd definitely want to go to OCS
yup it is, as you have said.
To lead, to excel, to overcome. With pride i lead.
Step
Being an officer isn't just about the brawns, looks or height, it is about the heart and attitude. Never judge a book by it's cover @kelveto.
yup, his serious looks told me too, and he has the 'aura' of garang military leader. Remind me of Patton!
You sir, win the internet
YAR! We had a turn out, changing parade and defaulters' parade before doubling from Alpha wing to the pool. Quite excited when we knew we were going to jump though!
You have just described the typical YSL. I will agree with you, having been guilty of the same offence when I commissioned (rank up in my head). However, with time in a unit, that changes. Moreover, I've had the privilege of meeting laojiao Officers in advanced courses who have attitudes opposite to what you've said. Hence I would ask that you give NS Officers the benefit of the doubt, especially NS Key Appointment Holders. Those guys definitely have their heads in the right places.
Hey cyberpioneertv!
Is this the year following their BMT training? Nabil and all of them?
If I'm Malay or Muslim, what are the chances of me getting into OCS?? What about SISPEC??
So do we have a choice of going to the MIDS or the Air Wing?
Is there any other special qualities they look for?
First day today. Cool school.
Looking at an experience that I long to have but so near yet so far
Learn to fall. Tough times don’t last, tough men do.
Remember to forget by whiteflowers? cant seem to find it online! Sigh.
boy, it's not something that was told to me, it was something that we learnt and believed in
hi, may i know how long is this series going to be? thanks!
Saving the best for the last.
tough times don't last but tough man do
Will Mindef do a gathering of EVery Singaporean son 1 & 2?
Hey anyone knows the song from 1:18 onwards? It's so nice
how do you make the effect during 1:29-1:45?? What is the technique?
When will the other episodes be uploaded?
Hi, is there anyway to obtain or purchase those songs? Thanks!
Ok thanks! somehow cant to find this band on google.. Is it typed wrongly or?
i tried putting on and taking off my cap, doing everything i could possibly do with it, but i couldnt get anywhere. what am i doing wrong.
If I go to PTP, will it negatively affect my chances of going to OCS? Would I be assessed fairly during BMT or will they not choose me because I had to go to PTP? Thanks!!
thanks very much! :)
hey @cyberpioneertv what's the song at 1:18 onwards would really appreciate to know it thanks!!!(:
Haha there is, even in the first two weeks of training. I'm saying this as a capacity of the batch of their senior cadets who were involved in one part of their training that sadly wasn't showcased here. Probably we don't think it is sensitive, but I am sure MSD side has their reasons so we should respect that :)
im frm malaysia.love this show..jst wanna know,is this compulsary to all singaporean boys?how old are these guys?
How come no videos on SCS? I'm sorry but I can't find any videos on SCS on cyberpioneertv
Hello can people with diploma in any discipline apply for scholarship or study award to become naval officers? Must the diploma be related to Navy?
@cyberpionnertv what are the requirements for getting in OCS
does anyone know what the upper age limit is to join OCS in Singapore? (not Singaporean).
what about those who want to serve in the navy or air force when do they transfer there? after BMT?
Just curious. To be an officer... Does one have to sign on? Or is he selected right out of BMT or something?
hooyah, awesome, keep it coming
Its called leadership in any form.Looking at this and still wandering whether or not to go for NCC Cadet Officer Course.LoL!
interesting documentary! but the sound quality is slightly lacking. Can't hear some of the dialogues.
If only OCS was as fun as they made it seem
What is the song at 1:24? Thanks in advance :)
Cool
every thursday for the next 19 to 24 weeks, 4pm, so yeap
waaaah.... Ltc ramezan damn garang man
EXACTLY!! And if you think about it, those people over there are saying the same thing "We will defend Malaysia"... "We will defend Indonesia"... there's something wrong with the picture because no matter how many nations profess "defending" their country WARS still get started. But if everyone is defending how can wars start?? There's something psychotic here.
What is the song at the start?
agreed!
depends how long the cadet takes to drop out of the course
Tdy my whole sch went to OCS!!!Very nice n fun
Nice on the outside... Hell inside. 78/09!
do a video on specs!
LT Utama is my Current 2IC and future OC of 1 SIR. impressive
You mean CO?
@@tangik432 OC. If he is a LTA, his next rank is a Captain. CO you have to at least be a major.
seriuously pes E and C???..excused PT.RMJ,Heavy load,Outfield,Firearms,Sunlight,Sweat, this and tat...recognition definitely has been given..
Situational test for bmt. If i only become 2ic what does this mean? Can still go ocs?
Should be able to
Hmm I will only go so far as to agree that the video was too brief, at times even choppy, like a dream, where the scenes don't flow from one to another. But CLM is just a relatively short phase, I would expect both Service and Pro Terms to be more in depth and complete.
SCDF and our army are different task, both have their important role to play, and it should work together for the people of Singapore.
I am also Singaporean
LTC Ramezan! my school IC for BMTC4 rn
Cpt utama from mandai hill camp is here Woots
Do you know where he is now?
@1.49 (WEBISODE 1) whats tht mean?
it used to be full lieutenants, guess there arent enough people signing on/extending ns o.O
YSL, i think it is quite clear that army cadets are hardly exposed to much sensitive content during their training phase. Considering that the video is based on the first 2 weeks of training, i highly doubt there was anything sensitive at all. Think about it.
YSL says he is a senior and was involved in classified activities during CLM. OCS sure has changed much since we left. haha
eh? The Wing Commander was a malay LTC. The platoon commander was a malay LTA and the section commander was an indian 2LT. I doubt our neighbouring countries can attest to anything similar
Thumbs up for LTC Ramezan & LTA Utama!
Where do we come from?
cant find the song... =(
I think the 3rd season of ESS will be for SCS, haha
That was 8 years ago :)
OCS's instructor's favourite question; Understand or Not?
me too
many places.
Because sometimes people have to defend principles, or other ideals that a country is opposing.
are you 3sg liang from the ESS 1, haha, i kinda disagree so far, but i am neutral, i think the first season is better (for now), also i think the epilogue of 6 episodes is too short, 10 episodes is more feasible
The best is yet to be! ACS!!!!!
hmmm they didnt show what happens BEFORE the jump at the swimming pool =3
realized one thing in common in the first episode, both stars of the show this week shares the same name (but different spelling), shawn and sean, lol
im not sure if this is an ippt video
bro a trainer and a PC are quite different, while a LTA can bring a separate perspective from bn life in for the cadets, 2LTs are closer to life as a cadet and can help the OCTs more especially when they need it. Bn life isn't the be all and end all of being an officer.
He doesn't have to sign on to be one. Suitable candidates will be selected during BMT.
ocs 15mins away from my place only =P. ord lo!
