An interesting contrast. A trickling stream to raging torrent. You can see rocks and features that affect the flow, like the shelf at the bottom left of Gorilla that pushes everyone into the wall on the right. It would be cool to pair these clips with race footage. Not asking, just saying.
My pleasure! Be aware that rocks and important logs have shifted since this video was made (I'm thinking specifically of Go Left), and I'm sure more will change in the future.
@@paddlebikediveclimb TY, my cousin Fast Fred lost his home (Cabin) in Green River Cove. Thanks, this let me see the beauty of the river that I have not seen in over 20 years!
That wasn't quite my goal, but you're welcome! Part of the inspiration for filming this was the incident report from Wade where he said he knew there was a rock in Go Left that he could stand on to help. I figure that's the kind of information that comes out of this video.
@@paddlebikediveclimb oh that wasn’t negative I was kidding in a sense but it’s very informative! Thank you ! You can definitely see different places of where to be and not to be .
No worries. Yeah, I wanted to better understand the known hazards. It was also interesting to me to have seen the race last year at 11-12" - Go Left was flushing everyone out, which makes sense as it gets more and more covered.
Nothing of scouting at higher water, but I've got a couple videos of running the river. There are plenty of videos of people with greater skill than I have running everything, though.
Yeah. I updated the description to that effect yesterday. Need to update the title, now, too. Will be interesting to see the changes, but for now I'm just hoping everyone in the area is safe and has strong community to get them through rebuilding.
Great video to have online as a resource! Thanks for shooting so many angles.
My pleasure. It was a fun hike, and hopefully this is useful to folks

I thought about splicing in more of my footage, but I dont think seeing my lines is going to help anyone
Great video. Did something similar a while back to find a lost paddle. Really cool adventure
It's one of those things that can absolutely terrify you and be useful at the same time.
Absolutely brilliant and very much appreciated.

Awesome. Maybe you all could redo after the rebuilding to chronicle the change from the hurricane? All the best and thank you!
I expect that'll be quite some time from now, but I will likely take a hike in to chronicle the new Green once it settles into itself.

He's okay, though?
@@paddlebikediveclimb Yes, he is but he lost everything, FastFredRuddock on YT, thanks.
I'm glad that at least he's okay. Good luck!
This makes me want to never run go left again...Thanks for the time and footage!

Always wanted to see those rapids. Do you have any videos at higher water levels?

And then the whole river gets reset in these floods..
Yeah. I updated the description to that effect yesterday. Need to update the title, now, too.
