Please don't. The lock that keeps the pliers open have a tendency to break. This type of lock is flawed. I have had several very nice multi tools that employ this type of plier lock. They all broke within a year after purchase.

Having enjoyed another silent but excellent review (thank you for that!), I am wondering why are there cheap (read: bad) tools on the market. They should not exist, as they are just a waste of materials. It just does not matter that it is cheap as long as its implements don't perform well their primary function.
This multi-tool is not that bad since I've admitted it to my collection; I explained the reasons. Which means that there are many low quality multi-tools. So why are people buying these? For different reasons: the price, the lack of knowledge of the defects they will be aware of the use, an occasional use, the idea that in case of breakage they will be able to buy one for cheap, the little interest for the technology, etc. You know, it's the same for tools, some will want to buy high-end tools for robustness, longevity and warranty, others will not need that since it means an increase price.

It provides that snap when you pull the two handles down too expose the pliers and provides resistance that prevents the handles from closing back over the pliers or flopping around when the plier is in use. It's that tiny metal plate that you see on the inside of the handles right behind the plier head when the tool is open. If you provide me with a means to contact you, I will send you a picture of the thing I am talking about.

This spring has a travel of about 0.5 mm at its end. You tell me that this device ends up breaking, by fatigue, after one year of use ... I can only believe you even if it depends on the frequency of use of the multi-tool. On the other hand, this multi-tool is not guaranteed 25 years and its purchase price is low enough so that in case of breakage it is not a drama :)
