- Today were looking at an all original Olympic White Fender Telecaster from 1968, paired with a 1959 Fender Deluxe! The guitar is in great condition, with some checking and small bits of expected wear from a guitar of this age. Pickups are snappy, twangy, and really let the resonance of the instrument shine through. The original saddles are in the case with brass replacements currently on the guitar. The amp of the day is a beautiful 5e3 circuit narrow-panel 1959 Deluxe, a true classic and one of the best in the eyes of many. This amp is totally original short of the replaced handle and new capacitors. The tone from this little beast is very warm with outstanding natural overdrive!

Excellent excellent demo! It shows Fender very well, guitar and amp.
What an amazing combo. Those Tweeds sound so, so good. They got it right a long time ago.
Thankyou for some of the coolest jamming to showcase a beaut ! Just the different guitar licks and strumming, can't say enough thanks
Beautiful demo, man. Really, really great. One of the best ever on this channel. Especially the beginning.
Thanks for sharing guys.
Cheers
In 68 they still knew how to make a guitar at CBS. It took them about 10 years to forget how to make guitars.
Thanks for a nice straightforward demo of these two.
Great video you can really here this guitar sing. Glad to see the sub numbers going up!!
Ok, all i need is 17 grand and some talent. Sounds simple enough......
i wonder if its light weight
Wonderful!
Good stuff. You can get great clean tones out of a Deluxe, as in this video, just not at higher volumes. Plug into the Inst channel & set its volume just below 3. Use the #2 input for higher output guitars. Set the Mic volume to 10 or maybe a little higher. (The vols are interactive.) Set the Tone around halfway up & then tweak to taste. This will give you as mid-scooped a sound as a tweed Deluxe can do. Sounds killer in a 10x15’ or so room.
Great Video!
That is a nice sounding room! Really stalking the 5e3 circuit. Great sounding combo. Had a great ‘66 Tele ($750 in the 1980’s)...lasik operation. Had an amazing ‘61 Tremolux ($600 in the late 1990’s) Stingray Bass + Eden amp. Probably will have to go the clone route?
Idk whats better, the tweed Tremolux or deluxe. Both incredible amps.
a blues breaker trem
Agreed
Wow
Were maple fingerboards a custom option for 60s Fenders?
Yes, I believe all maple pre CBS fenders after 1959 were custom order only. I’m assuming this carried over into CBS until the 1970s.
@@wilson4180 Maple caps were rare starting right after 59 but in the late 1960's Maple caps were pretty common. From 67-70 , a rosewood lam cap is the more rare. Mine is Maple Cap Nov/67B #207100. Search 67-70 Telecaster - pretty much 50/50 rosewood/maple by search results
Are they stringed with flatwounds or pure nickel?
Are these the only options available? :D
Is it Ash or Alder?
