I actually have a Browning set up to basically be a American MG42, I got all the rate of fire buffs, and the overheat reduced. It's set up for certain maps, 250 rounds without reloading makes it great at holding tunnels on underground

Seeing the MG42 that low 😲 its good in all situations if you learn the recoil pattern its my favorite gun in the game. You also forgot more bullets means more suppression which if your the machine gunner you spot suppressed enemies
Don't forget the bullet pen! It goes through sandbags!
It’s not possible to perfectly control recoil thats as bad as the mg42 but as long as you don’t use it long range your gonna be fine if you fire bursts at close range

Imo it's way off. For me MG42, 1919, and S2 200 are my best MMGs. They absolutely rock at their jobs. S2 I remember one time in conquest getting 8 kills attacking a point with. It's nice

MMGs would be _much_ more viable in BF5 if bipods weren't the absolute worst in this particular BF.
i can't even begin about how many times i've had a perfect killbox set up for an MMG, only to have it ruined because the bipod kept trying to reset or just outright didn't work.
Still Better than the bf1 bipod, or even the bf4 one
Cue me staring at a sniper for a full minute trying desperately to put down the bipod, before he turns around and kills me

@@danielwordsworth1843 hi, I'm a history nerd don't know everything but I can assure you the MG34 was never considered a bad weapon in fact it's engineering was absolutely brilliant but because it was so well designed they discontinued producing the MG34 because it was more expensive and a more complicated design than the Cheaper MG42.

@@danielwordsworth1843 not only in middle East. Italy still has the MG42/59 as its service machine gun ( in tandem with the M249), and Germany trains with the MG3. Germans almost made an eternal weapon, only after the even more eternal M2 Browning.

as someone who used mmgs as aggressively as possible, the m1919 browning was the best mmg, but before it was added the mg34 was the best, but the browning was just a straight up upgrade in my opinion

@Herr Goober in your opinion, I personally like bf4 better than 5 or 1, the game is just old but still fun and required skill to aim guns, the snipers or really any gun in bf5 or 1 practically had no bullet drop so it was really easy to aim but bf4 you had to take into account bullet drop also because the maps were bigger probably because the vehicles were faster

5:29 The MG42 is my favourite gun in real life and bf5, In real life this thing had a fire rate of 600-1100rpm. The weapon also got the nicknames ‘Hitlers buzzsaw’ and ‘The linoleum ripper’ by allied troops due to the sound it made. This gun also killed the most people in WWII.
(FYI the MG42 is a LMG not a MMG, the ‘light’ ‘medium’ and ‘heavy’ is classed by the caliber, not the size, and the browning is a HMG.)
An mg42 with a 600 rpm?? Most had light bolts that could have it fire up to 1500 rounds per minute (that was the absolute max) The mg42 is NOT a lmg. The Fg42 is a lmg, it has a magazine as do all light machineguns, the Mg42 is belt fed but both use the same caliber. Also what Browning are you talking about? The 1919 is a belt fed .30 mmg but I think the browning you are talking about is the Hmg (m2 browning) 50cal. But Machine guns are classified by WEIGHT. The mg42 is a heavy gun and is normally mounted on bipod and tripods for fixed positions. Last thing the minimum fire rate for a mg42 back in ww2 was a little over 900 since 1200, 1300, and 1500 was too high and amunition was becoming a commodity in Nazi Germany. I'm sorry I had to point it out it just bugged me.
Sure you could classify the mg42 as a lmg but it normally had a crew with spare barrels, ammo and maybe a tripod (idk why a squad would carry a tripod around just to mount anywhere so I'm not really sure on that)

The 1919 is actually the “stinger” LMG of which only six were made by marines using the rear guns from damaged or scrapped carrier based bombers, the stock of a M1 “garand” and the rear sights, carry handle, and bipod of the BAR
the stinger had a fire rate of 1600, the 1919 Browning (which is in the game only as 1919) had a fire rate of 600
But the 1919 never had a hand held variant. The one in the game has the same rear sights, bipod, and carry handle as the stinger none of which were on the actual 1919. Although it does have the same grip and trigger as the 1919. So I guess it’s a combination of the two in the game.

I personally don't have an issue with the MG-42. I use it often, it's very good at holding waves off. In hamada for example I often hold the bridge at D from 10-7 people at once.

The MG42, not sure since launch, but at launch, that bastard was the best MMG in the game without any doubt. Like, it works against aircraft, it was that good. It was so powerful, they needed an animation specifically for it to overheat and not be able to fire forever.
The browning mmg in the game looks like the experimental stinger machine gun. It was basically a BAR, m1919 and a garand. Check out forgotten weapons video on it. Great video!

Sure, you can sit there throughout the entire time but it's best to camp ground for a few kills then move to new location and repeat

@The Ghost Camping is real bad in games like Call of Duty but in Battlefield they are much easier to deal with, and like I posted before mg's are not designed in game for run in gun like assault class, the accuracy is terrible unless proned or placed on walls/sandbags. Now I'm not the kind that sits on 1 spot the whole round, I would get few kills then move to a different spot, or supply ammo to team/squad, repair vehicles and or build defensive structures, so ya I can agree with you about players that do camp the entire time (yes it's annoying sometimes), but playing engineer class right can be very useful. Also the Shitiest way to play is to spawnkill, now that's someone who looks like an idiot and is very annoying. Have a good one Ghost and stay safe out there in the crazy world we live it 👍

Actually if you play with the light bolt on the mg42, your ttk is through the roof, and you don’t overheat. It’s like the type 2a but it’s an mmg. If you learn to control your recoil, and bring your opponents into close range, you can do some work. The 50 round belt shouldn’t be a problem because you can usually top off before the next guy shows up. You can usually get 3 people with your gun, and the best position for an mmg is on the enemy flank. Because if you attack them from the side they’re more vulnerable.
