  • Today I show how to make some bean bags that can be used for the bean bag toss game called Cornhole. All you need is 2 different colored pieces of duck cloth and 8 pounds of cracked corn. You should be able to make a set of 8 for less then a dollar a bean bag. I hope you enjoy the video.

    a little trick I have learned sewing cornhole bags is to cut your cloth 7"x14" fold in half and sew. You are using one piece of material and the bags are a lot stronger and it saves a lot of time. Also, I start about a third of the way at the top of the bag and finish a third of the way on the top, leaving a third of a gap on the top for filling corn. once you fill the bags with corn if you will pack the bag down and hold the seems really tight placing it under the presser foot, you do not need any pins to hold the bags together when sealing them shut.

      Doesn't this affect the "play" of the bag with one side being seamless?

      @@williamszymanski987 You can still seam it. I think he is saying it helps when cutting.

    Terrific video! Thank you. I'm glad you're a man who sews. Now my 15-year old son will be willing and able to help me sew the bean bags for the corn hole game he just built with his dad.

    Oh wow, these are great. I would love to see the tapestry stuff that was done to the patio...I think anything with any kind of textile is sewing, or sewing related. I just found your channel and subscribed. Glad I found you!! Thanks so much.

    Awesome. My cousin wants me to make her some for Christmas present. She got cotton, so I think I will just fuse 2 pieces together for the strength

    • @ruthfreeman864
      @ruthfreeman864 Рік тому

      use fuseable interfacing on the wrong side of the fabric instead of 2 pieces of fabric...

    I wonder if using a zipper foot would help on the top stitching.

    • @artofbrandont

      Poly, it has a lot more tinsel strength.

    hi, i am french guy and i can't obtain good informations about this bags on french web site. What kind of fabric is it ? and the thread ? "Poly" what is it ? thank you very much and great video :)

      I don't know if you will see this since you wrote 2 years ago, but if you do, I hope this helps. Duck Cloth is a heavy, tightly woven fabric. I think you could use a tightly woven canvas as a substitute. "Poly" thread is synthetic, a plastic product instead of cotton or silk. Good luck.

      I’m a cotton fiber sewing. Polyester eventually rots and breaks. Cotton not so much. Stitch length matters.

    Would using a serger on the inside and outside stitching be ok?
