To be fair, throwaway lines can say so much, like how one of the oldest episodes reveal that Timmy is 40 but looks ten, and later we get The Secret Wish episode that reveals that Timmy made a wish to stop time so he never loses his godparents, and he made that wish 50 years ago. Soooo yeeeeah....
Nice
Would Timmy having a crush on a minor be illegal then? He's not a minor and lived long enough for his brain to mature, or well, himself to mature
@@mariotheundying probably that time is stopped for everyone, not just him
Oh, the "I'm actually 40" line. Lying is a foreign concept to you, isn't it?
*_FAIRYGODPARENTS!_* -Denzel Crocker
Hi cousin
I never knew his first name until now
Naw we got the cousin's up in here bro
@@OscarCipher694 Salutations.
FAIRIES!
Timmy also had kinda terrible parents that left him with an abusive babysitter, he was bullied at school and mr crooger Is maniacle mad man
It's Denzel crocker
Fairies can do various jobs - being a god parent is one of them. Godparents can quit at any time, though there are repercussions. If a godparent quits mid-assignment, as seen in the Fairy God Parents Fairy Idol episode, the godparents can lose their right to be a godparent. They can take a break/refuse assignment between kids without issue, though. Godparents are also allowed days off, but they usually find ways to generate coverage - in one episode, Timmy was given a temporary wand with ten wishes for “emergencies” when Wanda and Cosmo were busy.
As far as good magic systems: The Owl House was really good about outlining how magic works for witches and non-witches. There are some gaps in magical knowledge, but that was because the crew was cut short in the final season.
Average Matpat video.
“Rules are overrated anyways.”
One of the best magic systems is the magic system in Avatar The Last Airbender and a run of Doctor Strange comics by Jason Aaron where Doctor Strange had used so much magic that it had completely warped his body so much that he could no longer do some things like eat human food. There is a really great video by the channel Hello Future Me where he goes through the differences between a hard magic system and a soft magic system and it goes through the best ones
By the way, Timmy gets Fairy Godparents because his life is made miserable by his evil babysitter Vicky, not just because he doesn’t want to do chores.
Yea that's literally the main conflict of the series
Further point to Cosmo’s age. He was a fully-fledged Fairy Godparent when he and Wanda were assigned to the inventor of the wheel, meaning that he must be much older than 40,000 year, and matured before that point.
Loved that episode! Thanks For this!
25:56 I think the goal with putting all of the Fairies in the Gumball machine was to hide them from the Darkness, as Jorgen would have guessed that Fairy World would be one of its first targets.
the reason for the fairy shortage is due to cosmo. cosmo was such a menace as a baby that fairy world decided to not allow fairy's to have children anymore so that another cosmo would not be born. the loop hole for why cosmo could have a baby is due to Timmy wishing for it. i think it takes about the same time as a human birth for a fairy to be born it might be less but its been a long time. so if jorgen von strangle really wanted the army he would not allow this to happen.
To be fair there are probably some rules beyond even him
We see that he can be replaced
I thought it was implied that the Hall of Infamy godkids were implied to have been the reasons why the rules against emotional influence (French-American racism), direct harm (tornadoes in trailer parks) and murder (killing Ferdinand) were there in the first place?
So you're saying it took until the 1920s for there to be a rule against literally killing people lol
Pat, read the Night Angel series. The magic system and consequences is insane! Also the series goes through some very dark topics but very well done.
My favorite magic system is the one in Kamen Rider Zi-O. The ability to suck people’s powers into a watch and then use them for yourself, time manipulation and policing against it, and resetting the god damn universe are just awesome to me. Time manipulation has always been one of my favorite superpowers.
A fellow men of culture
Fellow KR fans!!! Who'd've thought I'd run into my peeps in a Fairly Odd Parents video?
@@SpringStarFangirl Quite literally, *magic*
@@deadheat1635 THAT'S RIGHT.
Fellow rider fan, glad to see more of these
I heard that even the show creator wasn't fond of the "no breakfast wishes after ten" rule.
😆
I have breakfast at ten
My favorite magic system? The abilities of the Blood from the Black Jewels book series by Anne Bishop. It's my favorite series too, as it takes a bunch of stereotypes and flips them on their head, such as "Darkness = Evil"
23:30 remember not only was Cosmo the last fairy born before Poof, when Cosmo was born he caused so much trouble fairies were banned from having babies
Until Poof came along that is
Brandon Sanderson's magic systems are incredible. I love them. I also love the magic system from Brent Weeks' Lightbringer Series. It's a similar idea to the magic system from Warbreaker, actually.
One of my favorite magic systems is in the show charmed essentially you can do whatever you want but if you use your magic for evil it either gets taken away or it comes back to bite you in the ass in a horrendous way
Yeah but your wrong on a few account if your a good witch then you can't use your powers for personal gain or it would backfire or in the case of you would lose what you try to get
@@godofwind200 my bad man I just remember personal game being a big No-No in The charmed world
@@Mr.wednesdayallfather oh its cool and I was only trying to help you out
"Da Rules" are less of an iron clad set of rules and more of guidelines. When someone finds a loophole in a rule, "Da rules" can and often do get changed to avoid such events happening in the future. Some of them may even be there to keep other wish granting groups like genies or the pixies at bay or pacified
I love your commentary on this! 🤣🤣👍
3:36 you’d probably want discord’s chaos magic from mlp, animus magic from wings of fire or just anything that lets you warp reality without many or any limitations. Also Brandon sanderson sounds like he’s gonna sell me bootleg chicken.
Timmy is neglected by his parents and abused by his babysitter. He didn't get Cosmo and Wanda because he didn't want to do chores. (just clarifying, love your videos dude)
"How are they gonna have s*x when they're gumballs??" might be my fave Pat quote so far
What a great day. Free tacos at work and a new Patterz video
The magic sistem from the manga "Atelier of Witch hat" is amazing. In my opinion it's one of the more interesting ones I've ever encountered
I approve of this comment.
My favorite magic system is the one from the kingkiller chronicles, sympathy, it follows symple laws
The Doctrine of Correspondance: Similarity enhances sympathy.
The Principle of Consanguinuity: A piece of a thing can represent the whole of a thing.
The Law of Conservation: Energy cannot be destroyed nor created.
It also has a limited amount of bindings
Kinetic: Used to transfer energy of motion
Sympathetic Binding of Parallel Motion [1]
First Parallel Kinetic Binding (This may be the same as the Sympathetic Binding of Parallel Motion)
Chemical: Used to transfer chemical energy
Chemical, Second Catalytic
Galvanic: Used to transfer electromagnetic energy
Binding for Linear Galvanic Attraction
Mixed: Used to transfer one kind of energy into another.
Capacatorial Kinetic Luminosity: "Motion to Light;" One can use the kinetic motion of an object, such as their hands, to generate light.
Maxim of Variable Heat Transferred to Constant Motion
And depends on the strength of the users allar, (a mix of imagination and strength of will) but you can easily mess up and do major physical harm or even end yourself if you are not careful, for example when using your own body heat as an energy source and dropping it two much or cooking yourself if you use too much energy from another source
Than there is also naming, if you fully understand something you can find it's name and with that name you can command it. But fully understanding a thing is difficult and the university even has its own asylum for students who "crack" (get major psychological damage)
Well and sycaldry which is like a written form of sympathy, it uses runes, but it follows a complex Grammer and when one wants to use it they need an allar strong enough and understand the materials they use or it goes very wrong.
Da Rules, more like Da Checklist
I've been listening to the stormlight archive...by far my favourite book series...Brandon Sanderson is so talented.
FACTS
I like it that one kid that Cosmo and Wanda had started world war, one and two! and there’s just a French kid that makes French people mean to Americans
Easy way to break the breakfast rule: Destroy time, move time zones, speed or slow down rotation of the earth and where it is in the cycle, travel somewhere else 😂
8:33 Fairy Godparents ARE free to quit. There was an episode where Timmy was such a little monster, Cosmo and Wanda just quit.
3:30
Sympathy from the Name of the Wind is awesome
"Are there any amendments?" Uhm, have you watched schools out the musical?
Pixies: "in section F, subection O, AMENDMENT I"
since christmas is also my birthday I wonder how the everyday christmas thing would work for me,like holy shit O_O
So you're telling me that fae creatures with impossible magical capabilities cannot make breakfast after 10:30, but Tim Horton's can?
Well no, fairies are just normal magical creatures, but by going to fairy academy they can be assigned to a child, meaning they chose to do this on their own accord, no one forced them, they could of just lived their lives in fairy world but chose not to. And at any point, if the god parent is disrespected or treated like crap they can choose to leave, same with the child, if they dont like the parent they can give them up.
5:43 Pretty good Crocker impression **claps**
I got a Super OP Blastoise that is over level 40 in FireRed. His name is MASTER OOG (After master oogway) and he has 4 OP moves; Bite (For water and other type trainers), One shot Water Gun, and much more.
in all honesty, the best magic system in my opinion is the one of the Fate Series / Nazuverse
My favourite magic system is from "Die Einherjer" by the German author Pascal Wokan, where a rune's power is tied to both your weapon and you showing the characteristic traits this particular rune represents. For example: A man like Asgrim Krummfinger, the protag of the 1st and the 3rd Season, who fights for honour but also as a beacon of hope can master the rune Sowilo and from this point onwards tap into its power (mainly power-, speed- and durability-anhancement). It also connects him to his weapon, allowing him to (de-)summon it at will as well as using it more or less like Thor uses Mjölnir in the Marvel films and series.
When he then ascends to become the Allfather in Season 3, he is able to use the full potential of all runes, granting him a massive powerspike and potentially reality-altering magic, though he only uses the latter to break the 9 Worlds free from a time loop, just to lay back and relax for the rest of his immortal life afterwards.
Edit: Well, I forgot about Nimmerherz, and now I can't decide which one I prefer, because in Nimmerherz, every spell causes an opposite reaction - so if you e. g. turn water into ice to cool someone's sprained ankle, someone else might suddenly break into a frozen lake because the ice below him suddenly melted.....
19:28 why’s he called Sanderson like the author you mentioned
One of my favorite magic systems is the magic in the Wings of Fire book series, where certain characters can do basically anything but every time they do a spell, they lose a piece of their soul, meaning the characters who use their magic to much go insane, and sometimes become evil.
It seems to gave been implied that the thing corrupting their soul was how evil and selfish the spells are but idk exactly
Pat, fairies can quit, pretty sure cosmo and Wanda have been quit or fired multiple times
That was literally the premise of one of the specials. Where Norm tries to ruin Timmy's life after he finds godparents can quit and it effects the kid. And after he attempted that with use of a fake Timmy in a deal, he tried to get rid of his genie restriction. At the end of the special, Chester used his last genie wish to undo what Norm did and make everything go back to the status quo.
Make it a brunch related wish 😏
i had to comment this to mat though:
Timmy got fairies cause his parents basically neglect him and Vicky is evil not cause he didn't want to do chores lol
because that's the only thing i feel mat got wrong
I think the best Magic System is the one you control on your own XD
You cant even use magic to change something in a different universe.
Thank you nicktoons unite
I am a snail
Cool. 😐👍
Prove it
I am salt🧂
I am god
I am alien
9:43 I can actually explain this, it's less that they didn't account for someone doing that, and more they didn't account for the most impulsive human child to ever be given fairy godparents was assigned the simultaneously canonically strongest and dumbest fairy in all of existence, so a combination of Timmy's pure willpower and selfishness combined with Cosmo literally actually being the strongest fairy ever in Canon, and also being a dumbass means that the episode is about literally the only scenario that could occur to where anything could actually happen to Da rules
I thought he would have said because my childhood didn't suck enough
My favorite magic system is probably the incubator contracts in Madoka Magica.
Rule number 3-15-4-5? More like rule number C-O-D-E! COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!
Fairly odd parents u cant eat breakfast after 10:30.
Aka McDonald's rules
The writers always ate McDonald's before a session due to it being up the street
0:59 that would be using a wish to cheat in a competition
3:27 the Jin/Gin/however is called of ninjago
Your a good youtuber
Allomancy is 100% one of the best magic systems in all of fiction
Journey before destination, Radiant!
Replace Blaziken with a Mew and replace the elite four with a self-imposed Mew-only nuzlocke and then yes. I can relate lol
Not gonna lie that was a pretty good Wanda impression
2:22 You're right a room full of supermodels is a 13 year old's dream or maybe a little older than that and I'm 14 and I'm not going to lie I really want supermodels in my room.
my favorite magic system is the oculators from Alcatraz vs the evil librarians
If dey don't make a wish in a sirten amount of time dey will build up magic and explode
I loved Fairly Odd Parents
NICE SMOOTH MUST CHOP WWWOOODDD!!!!
when you said "as a child" i looked up how young you are. i found that we are born on the same day, 7 years apart! (if the internet is not lying to me)
I liked the theory till he said that he thinks van strangle wants more baby fairies. Fairy are not allowed to have children because of cosmo
4:05 Fairy CIA? You mean the CIFae?
Isn't the reason the fairies don't have kids anymore due to Jorgen making it a rule forbidding it?
I'll be back with weapons
5:59 make a wish foundation
they don’t fix anything
@@TheGamer707. nobody’s wished for their cancer to disappear
1:22 "I wish for Kamen Rider to get more recognition in the west" ayyy
Me too!
Timmy found a loophole though
Hm, i feel like the ending of that Theory were a little abrupt.
When you wish for a cure to cancer and Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram start fading from existence.

EDIT: All I think of whenever someone mention Mary Ann from FoP starting world war 1 I think of this line from Hellsing Abridged:
Alucard: Unknowingly shot Archduke Ferdinand and blamed it on some other guy? MY FAULT!
Rules are overrated
It’s always so funny how literally NO ONE who complains about capitalism has ever moved from somewhere with capitalism to somewhere without it 😂
But ya, it’s definitely the worst system huh?
At 15:56 what is the music played called?
3:30 Nen from Hunter X Hunter.
At this point I thought that they would be fighting off would of been Austria-Hungary not the darkness
in fairly odd parents the fairies are immortal they can't die so they can't get cancer
ahhh intresting
The Inuit people in Alaska actually have the same problem in where they don't want to have sex with but if you've ever seen them they're not the most attractive people ever their character is strong but their attractiveness is a zero
15:38 how did it take so long for you to notice that?
do more of matpat
what about time travel
I think that the fairy's only like to bring joy so they like the job.
7:38 I would be dead, I love breakfast food and I wake up around 2 pm, I’m trying to fix it shut up..
Isaac Einstein says gravity exists let me just remove the page on the physics book
*makes a black hole* 🕳
And patterrz only fairy's have to follow those rules each magic species and races has their own rules and limits
