All I can say is "WOW." DAMN unbelievable talent on the pitch and seeing she is matriculating at Stanford shows how intelligent she is in the classroom as well. God bless and good luck in the future.
Stanford turns out awesome players, the first overall pick in 2019 when the Chicago Red Stars picked Tierna Davidson was from Stanford. They've produced greats of the game like Christen Press and Kelly O'Hara. Catarina Macario will be the number one pick overall for sure. Awesome skills.
She plays a simple games..makes scoring goals look so easy...her favourite placing for shots is the keepers right side...dont forget that right winger with the pin-point crosses/passes... These both should be drafted into the usa women squad...
Yeah she has a real chance to become the best player in the world, the talent is there undoubtedly, although transitioning to European pro soccer is going to be like hitting a wall, it's much tougher, but ultimately, with a lot of work, she can do great things at the highest level.
Catarina is born in Brazil but plays for USA. She shows a lot of promise, hope she plays tomorrow against Australia at the Olympics and help advance our USWNT to the second round, and maybe even win us a gold medal.
I am wondering why people want to rush her into the USWNT especially for the Tokyo Olympics? She looks good against players in college but, to rush her into the international level without proper time to make the adjustments to playing at a higher and faster level of play, I think is a mistake. If they do that and her level of play is not up to speed then it affects the whole team as well. Speed of play will definitely be something to watch to see if she can play at a level she has not experienced yet. Add the physical play as well hard slide tackling something not seen in any of the videos of her will definitely be something to watch how she handles these things. She better be prepared for defenses that are ten times better than what is seen in the college games
I'm guessing professional defenders will give her less space and may actually be able to tackle. She spends a lot of time on the ball in many of those highlights, which is not necessarily a good thing. Her finishing is undeniably great.
Against teams like France, England etc.? She is not going to be able just run up the middle of the field she will have deal heavy slide tackling and defense far more organized than what is seen in the above video
This woman looks like a very strong, technical, instinctive striker. Impressive. That said, goal keeping at all levels of the women's game is rubbish so...
She is a big talent, but please never ever compare college football to european high class football. She can make it, but it's a completely different level in the Champions-league than in college football.
she is legit though and should be in the conversation even now. shes that good. probably already better then Marta at this point in her career and gaining on Sam and folks like Martens and Henry and Marozsan.
I. Rex not questioning her skills i think shes great. But the title of the video is GREATEST player. Let her grow into the title before heaping her praise, is what Im saying. College after all is not at the level of a professional league.
@@sjonmac6012 Oh definitely. fair enough. Lets see what she can do at the next level for sure. I am looking forward to it though knowing her potential.
How can anyone say she is the best woman's soccer player. Based on her body of work, playing soccer in college, she is probably the best female soccer talent coming out of college. However, to flat out say she is the best women's soccer player is a big overstatement. She has yet to play professionally or even with the international teams. We all know from watching college soccer games that there is a really big difference in talent level when you compare college to the pro or international levels. Can she be a top player professionally or at the international level who the heck knows until we actually see her go up against players at the pro and international levels. One of the biggest questions for all college athletes going pro is this, can they take their game to the next level and be successful. I am reminded of another player Mallory Pugh, where many put her on this very high pedestal of being the future of the USWNT, now many are trying to figure out what has happened with Pugh will she regain her old form, and what's going to become of her future with the USWNT given the upcoming new talent coming out of college.
Because they couldn't...you see her footwork and speed? I haven't seen a college player alive that can actually mark her. Maycee Bell from North Carolina did the best job and she wasn't really a designated defender but as the CB she blocked like 90% of her shots in the NC game. The girl has the strength, speed, and skill to dominate on the ball. She's also a really great passer when double and triple-teamed.
@@thomaskunde1317 They really do need her but she idolized Mia and not Marta, go figure. She also has a better shot at winning a World Cup and Olympic Gold with the U.S. Tough to pass up.
@@justtester_9962 I think most female soccer players did. She was the first mainstream female soccer star in the world and the first U.S. Soccer star male or female.

You probably have seen 12 year old boys who can easily do this on PS4 FIFA. But stop saying sexist stuff on UA-cam and embarrass yourself. This is real world soccer, not one that you play with two fingers and a tv screen.
Also on your other point about scoring only tap ins...which she doesn’t...but since you brought it up. If you knew the work it takes, understanding of timing that it requires, and skills you need to have to score tap ins, you would have said “it is incredible how many goals she scores on tap ins.” The fact that she scores on tap ins consistently should have been a compliment, not a flippant insult. Again, good luck with your thriving PS4 FIFA career.
Oh, please. After all, when it comes to *’The Beautiful Game’* doesn’t the uploader of this video realize that unless a female player is both born & raised in the good ol’ U.S. of A, that she could not possibly be the *’best’* player on the planet? 🙄

I gotta say the camera angles and highlight selections don't really do Macario justice. She has MUCH better highlights than these.
Reminds me so much of Marta.
Some one showing out .... Looking good Macario..👍👍

she's brazilian, everything is explained! 🇧🇷✌️🤣
If you can’t beat em join em she’s America now 😂😂
muito boa
Great footwork!
Personally i think she has much crazier highlights you could have used BUT yes she is the best I’ve seen so far
Me as a goalie against her: AHHH RUN

The answer to both questions is yes.
QDLB siempre. ...go girl
Well, she is playing for USA. She must be amazing.
She can be number 10 on my team
Talented but I wouldn’t say the best lol. Remember we said the same about Pugh. Just saying. She’s be a great edition to the US squad.
Yes
The New Marta! She'll be the best in the world .
Wow, the new Martha!
De por si nadie derrota al Team USA, ahora imagínense con esta niña :(

She is young and talented. Moldable. The sky is the limit for her.
Lol and I think she’s currently the third top goal scorer (or something like that) in the UCL this season. Cat is the real deal
Hey, Marta is still around, plus Kerr and a bunch of players in Europe and the USWNT. Best college player, sure. Def not best women's soccer player.

Best Brazilian soccer player
One of them, I'd say there's a lot more than that though :)
Great video, awful music selection. On behalf of all musicians out there please be choosier on the next one! Excellent skilz...

When did she have her transition surgery?
Bingo
Probably the same day as your mom.
she isn't

Show me a 12 year old boy who can do this.
