NOTE: this conversation was recorded on February 11, 2020, weeks prior to social distancing and the alternate reality we find ourselves in today. Therefore, there is no talk about the pandemic. Nonetheless, his wisdom and experience is both timeless and timely. I suspect you will find this exchange instructive and helpful in navigating the perils of our current situation. Rich Roll i’ve lost count to how many times i have listened to this conversation..
I’ve been listening to your podcast for quite a while..and i must say this is probably one of the top 3 episodes, in my perspective. Truly meaningful discussion. Meaningful work, from both of you, and your teams.
So thank you! truly thank you .
PS: i have messaged you/Rich over Tweeter about having Bill McDonough on the show. I really believe you would find him to being of very similar degree of significance .
      thanks again,
      cheers from Portugal

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this. Keen to look into more of his work. Thanks for shining the spotlight on his work and bringing our attention to it. I didn’t know anything about him prior to listening to this.

Rich, I totally got it when you asked about how, when he quit his secure job and life to venture into the unknown world and new career would fit into the models he describes. It's kinda like the exception that proves the rule in this case. I haven't read the books yet, but i can't imagine how something that just felt right in the heart but didn't make sense on paper could be modeled. Or...how about this...What if one of the models would be based on intuition and manifesting? The heart understands more than the brain knows, as we have come to gather over the last few years. Shane, if you happen to be reading this, this NEEDS to be a part of your later research and a book...an attempt at answering the unanswerable. Bring metaphysics to Munger, out to McNabb Island, up to Cape Breton and home again. lol.
In all honesty tho guys, I watch pretty much every podcast you do Rich, and this one is up there with Zach Bush and Goggins. Thanks a million !

“You tell a computer to do something and it does it.” Yes it does. Define who is doing the the telling, why, and what is it they are telling it. These are the ultimate questions I ask myself every day I read or hear something. Computer programs are defining freedom of speech and dialogue?

The only thing separating then and now is fear. Serological studies in Italy have found that a large percentage of the population has already suffered the virus asymptomatically and that it was circulating since October. Media hysteria led to the collapse of some hospitals and care home in *northern* Italy only, creating the *Italian* crisis used to deliberately terrorise the world. Until today only a few hospitals have suffered collapse: Madrid, NYC, etc.

Has this guy ran a company larger than 3-4 people? This all just sounds like more "servant-leader" fad stuff from the past decade. This concept of, "don't tell your workers what to do. Let them find their own dharma-chi-path at work" doesn't work when you need to orchestrate large amounts of people. The train needs to run on time because everyone else is coordinating their schedules to that train.
