Gwyneth Paltrow broke the glass ceiling on grifting
your guess is as good as mine about those comment bots
How did you Families do during the freeze?
Video suggestion: *Ping Pong Ball Smoke Bomb*
*Worrying thoughts about this video:*
Like some one out there isn't gonna know how to replace paint with explosives...
Now you guys just taught people somewhere where they were using *metal mines* now made into PVC which is *UNDETECTABLE.*
the amount of times you can see in his eyes Corey's thinking "You just said something very dumb, but you're also my bosses, and I'm gonna play along so we can put out a good video" is admirable.
Lol 1000%
Its a little painful sometimes, watching an engineer with a group of "faclitators" lol. A dynamic masterfully satirized in The Expert by Lauris Beinerts
Corey watching Jason hand tighten the chuck to put the drill bit, in was somehow; hilarious, devious, and egregiously frustrating at the same time.
Man has an iron will.
It’s like working for 2 children
"What is the most non-warcrime way to describe what we're doing today?" That's when you know it's gonna be one of THOSE episodes. Those legendary ones. Those injury counter resetting ones.
I'm surprised the answer wasn't "making a gender reveal aircannon". Because this is safer than all the bombs and shit that have killed people and started large wilderness fires.
The best ones
Scratches don't count apparently.
Today: paintballs
Tomorrow: ball bearings >:)
Prussic acid would be appropriate as well, in minecraft of course.
Add some black powder and a primer and you've got something, in minecraft
@@that_guy_3714 Glad someone else is on the ATF watch list for the comment I came here to make, lol.
The day after tomorrow: War crimes in a third world country.
Next week: Glass and ceramic shards
No gloves when using a drill. It's too easy to get the glove caught in the drill and then your hand gets "twisted". Less important with hand drills but very important with larger tools like a drill press or a table saw.
But how else would you get noodle fingers though?
Some of the massive corded drills I've had to handle in my life (like for drilling holes through floor plates for conduit) with MASSIVE drill bits. These drills will literally break your wrists if they get hung up.
Great rule: if it spins, don’t wear gloves
Tried xplaing that to my teacher he didn't understand i worked in a fabrication shop for 4 years had and saw a lot of accents coz of that even knew a guy that lost his hole arm in a lathe coz of gloves
"What's the most non-warcrime way to describe what we're doing today?"
Constructing ground based, gas operated paint sprayers?
Pressurized propellant powered paint party poppers?
Pedestrian activated surprise system?
This comment is gold
That last one totally doesn't sound like an Aperture Science! product. No, siree. :)
Paintball trap
Personally prefer the last one
all landmines should be called pedestrian activated surprise systems from now on.
I just wanna mention that Jason is one of the VERY few people that can pull off that hat.
Dude, flatcaps are awesome!
so much so, i didnt even notice the hat lol
That silent stare from Cory after Brian's "I believe it's PSI." was so similar to the response from a child after hearing a dad joke that it hurt.
True srory
@@cranfilloh my god you're the guy
The Gwyneth Paltrow jab was one of my favorite parts of this episode.
Day three of me asking them to bring back "Cause I'm a Modern Rooooogguuuee" in the intro
Just do it! I will sign a petition.
Modern rooooooooggguuee
Heads up on a minor editing mistake: At 2:57 Jason says $45, but the price conversions show up for $35! No big deal, just thought I'd point it out. Great video as always :)
I was just coming to say the same thing. Knowing these guys it's some kind of secret code
Bargain!
@@kutr412 a 35 in police code is simple battery, maybe they're sating it doesn't require a battery to function..
Pipefitters everywhere cried a little bit during this episode
Love it when Cory is on the show building stuff, he is so good at just simplify stuff when he explains! What a great guy.
Ya. He is the best! Love that guy and you.
my number one reason for watching the modern rogue (other than it’s divine badass-ery and wonderful exploration of backyard science) is the coolness of jason and brian. they just seem like the coolest dudes, like they’re children but with the advantages of being an adult. doing stupid stuff that actually teaches you a thing or two even though it seems like it doesn’t is the most entertaining thing ever. they bring out the inner kid which brings out that inner curiosity we all have for the world around us. they really just show you that the world is a sandbox and we can play with everything in it but also learn from it.
This episode Jason learns how to use a jigsaw..
Oh no
Sawzall?
Oh boy, that won't go well
I clicked on the video on mobile, and saw this comment before the add even started. I'm terrified in the best way.
Reciprocating saw. Jig saw is diff and Sawzall is a brand
Without sound I would swear this was modern rogue builds a pipe bomb
“Cause I’m a MODERN ROGUE!!! 🎸
I just realized: the modern rogue is just two grown children playing with various toys.
Turning toys into war crimes since the very beginning
"Who is the world's greatest con-man?"
Gwyneth Paltrow
Thank you Modern Rogue, someone needs to keep reminding everyone. Down with Goop!
Edit: timestamp is 2:29

IFD - Improvised Fun Device
@@schloany4479 this is terrifying lmaooo
You guys should do a video on becoming proficient with basic tools like the drill and Sawzall. Those are skills that all men should know, and too many don't.
"Lawn Party! YAAAAY"
Next shot: PVC LANDMINE
I love all your episodes, the stories, the diy stuff, everything! Just noticed this premiered less than an hour ago so I commented on this one in hopes that you guys will read yet another comment of praise from one of your fans :)
Y’all spinning the vice was driving me crazy.... mount it to the edge
100%
It's better than when it wasn't mounted at all... But I agree. Some days I wish I lived in Texas so I could go be their handy man
Either somebody doesn't like them or they don't have a clue... Okay, we know which it is ;-)
I came to the comments just to see if anyone else was going to mention it
This needs to be the top comment. I cringed pretty hard at that.
Oh goodness. Corry really is a babysitter.
I've been looking for diy airsoft/paintball landmines for a while now. Cool to see you guys doing one
Any video which starts with "What's the most non-warcrimy way of phrasing what where about to do" is going to be a good one!
Cory is the real star here, working with two mechanically inept aliens posing as human. Jason is an alien for sure.
I love how Cory is always the adult in the room.
I love how real this channel feels. I never feel like I'm just learning. It's like I'm learning things as they learn things.
that's so cool. A decade ago, my friends and I played a lot with air-soft-guns. That's the thing we needed there. Wow
Corey is like the world's most patient high school shop teacher.
It's cool seeing this stuff made because it's like the stuff my buddies I did in our teens. Almost same ideas just constrained little different
Seeing you guys work with tools i literally use every day makes me giggle
The look from Cory at 13:50 when he's trying to explain to them the next step and they go on a rant about John Lithgow.
"wonder twins Activate Form of..." "wonder twins Activate SHAPE of..." the form was always mobile/living, the shape was always nonliving/elemental
Glitter... you need to fill it with glitter
I swear, I saw one of them turn a bucket of water like five different times, but I could also be misremembering this cartoon I haven't seen in 20-odd years
Recently bought a copy of Killer Candy and HOLY SHIT I'm obsessed
As soon as Corey started explaining how it works I thought "Oh, so it's like a stovetop espresso maker."
Not sure if it has been mentioned but I really enjoyed the music this episode. Also fun episode as always!
Regardless of the rest of the content, this was amazing just to hear you guys reference the Buckaroo Banzai movie. I just realized how to describe the Modern Rogue to people who haven't seen it. It's about becoming the next Buckaroo Banzai.
Good observation
Tonight. Jason wears a hat. Cory wears his backwards. And Brian scratches his hand. *starts playing “Jessica” 😂😂
Top Rogue!
There is just something sinister when a guy with Corey's accent says "he's dry enough for what we're gonna do." getting into Buffalo Bill Silence of the Lambs territory there.
Feel like these episodes are father and sons shed bonding exercises. And I am ok with this.
Shout out to your editors, their fact checking is always on point. I bet they would dominate trivia games now :D
Good times, always great when you find an adult to help.
This is essentially just a video lesson on how to construct a gas mine. The good thing about plastic mines is that they are a lot harder to detect using conventional means, such as metal detectors and similar devices. Though, when making a gas mine, you are gonna have to use some metal to store the gas canister in. But when using plastique explosives you can make a decent landmine using little to no metal parts.
The more I watch these videos where you build something the more I think you need an episode where you learn how to use hand and power tools
Corey has the the utmost patience.
Great DIY bong build!
"im gonna say words and theyre gonna be wrong and im okay with that" a nice outlook on life
"This is like the modern rogue Manhattan project"
Brian: "now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds"
From my experience helping my plumber relatives pvc cleaner is usually paired with the pvc glue to fuse pipes but the primer works as well.
The Diablo reference made my day.
It feels weird seeing the modern Rogue with a semi responsible adult
I hope Cory has business cards that say "Professional Adult"
Ya, I started here back when it was "SCAM SCHOOL!" with a random 20 year old hanging out in bars with a ridiculous hair cut
@@AlphaNerd132 so did I back when the show was sponsored by go Daddy
Corey being a depressed monotone dad for 18 mins
Loved Jason wanting to play fruit ninja with a sawzall and some pvc pipe
I like how Brian pretends like he actually knows how to use powertools
This dude Cory has bob ross levels of chill but instead of paint its bombs, instead teaching of bored housewives its a chaotic tornado that is the Brian murfy combo
Lol true
Good Job now we are all on a watch list
This was so cool!
Making these and adding some of those "Ninja Rocks" you guys developed. ;)
Desperate Times, yadda yadda~
Lol when corys like it took me 20 minutes to build this myself how've we been here for 2 hours
the eighth dimension is my home!
love buckaroo bonzai!
Best movie ever!!
Might wanna move the vise a little closer to the edge. It'll spin a bit easier
Decent Harmontown reference, I do that mouth-circle thing every time I see Lithgow now haha
:o this is my basic design that I made 15yrs ago back in high school even had cad drawings for it from tech class
"Gwyneth Paltrow" 😂 Not wrong, sirs, not wrong at all! Maybe a Goop mine is on the horizon? 😂
This reminds me of every group woodshop project I worked on in highschool.
Hahahaha. Funny video. I love it, but I always feel like these videos end before the final part of the testing.
FILL IT WITH GAS AND ADD A GRILL SPARKER IN THE MIX!!!
Love these dudes!
This is nearly a sentry alarm system... that would be a good episode. Ive built a few.
You want the vent spouts to be as close to the bottom of the "mine" as possible, the pressure goes above forcing that water down and then up the tubes since the water is in the way of that pressure being able to escape
Or flush to the bottom with holes in the pick up tube
thats so cool i made it and it works i youse it in airsoft with baby powder its awesome
little hint i youse nos capsules for these whipped cream dispencers because it is way way cheaper and works the same
This looks like something straight off of the Anarchists Cook Book haha!
It's probably more effective than a lot of the recipes in that book. Despite its reputation, a good chunk of The Anarchist's Cookbook is actually pretty underwhelming. (Or at least the original is. I haven’t read the later editions.)
@@B_Skizzle very true for the newer ones as well. Actually I wouldn't describe them as underwhelming so much as stupid. The anarchist cookbook V had actually good info in it on hacking, at least for the 90s, but most of the other stuff is ridiculous. One of their recipies calls for carbon tet, which has been banned for a long time and is practically impossible to get.
I'm so glad the lads have enablers now.
I love your videos!
In Irish accent* It’s so beautiful it brings a tear to me eye
That's super cool!
Hello from England where I am slightly concerned that I might be visited by her majesty's constabulary for watching this video.
IF.....that's the case, it would tell me its time to think about emmigrating to the US. Where they just keep track of what videos you watch.
🙈🙉🙊
I am very anxious about that pepper spray in the title
Probably the most John Lithgow references in anything. Even when Brian referenced Interstellar, which I don't think he realised haha
Love that music in the background
This was a confusingly competent build!
I'm catching you up in the uncut hair department Mr Brushwood! Game on!
papa cory and the kids with a diy weekend project
Maybe move the vice so the handle dangles off of the edge of the table? Makes it easier to use...
8:59 Brian: "I'm gonna be over here huffing this glu- I mean-"
in the thumbnail brian having a different background and being behind a foreground makes him seem like a magic genie in the center that cory and jason are both surprised at lol
Bet a return spring under the cartridge would allow more co2 to flow out faster
Great video
Its funny that there are guy's out there that don't know how to use simple tools
You know when Deluga Fire starts up legends are about to get tested.
Man when Brian and Jason jokingly called Corey the Q to their 007 they weren't fucking around
Good to see Kevin Smith is still working.
Just remembered this channel I have a lot to watch
Watching you guys drill reminds me of the time i shatterd a 1/4 inch drill bit in a wireless hand drill :/
I will definitely use this for paint or water...
Brian looks like he's been getting in shape
As much as yall work with PVC you al need a ratcheting PVC cutter or even a battery powered one, so much quicker and less to no sanding after cut.
Next episode Cory teaches us how to make a real landmine.
Well, I mean that pretty much involves the same materials... You just substitute the bottled water and CO2 canisters for two other things you could buy from your local Cabelas... The ATF really doesn't like that though and will take it out on the family pet. Just sayin'.
