  • Todd Tuckey shares with you information about the power supply you SHOULD use when reconditioning your machine! This one turned out exceptionally nice too, with red t molding, LEDs lighting up start buttons, new paint, rebuilt bottom cabinet, and rebuilt monitor, and of course, the proper height joysticks! This overhaul cost our customer $800.

    My high back in the day was around
    4.5M! I have the multi game model in my garage. It's short and still need to make a base. Anyway, I hit 1M once. Mostly averaging around 350k so far. Greatest game ever invented!!!

    As always, great job to the Nth degree.
    This is one game that has earned a right to live on as not all games deserve that honor. Truely a classic in every way possible.
    This is one of my favorite games, hard to believe it is 31 years old because the game play is as good as it was back then.

    Cool..I didn't think anyone was making them..I needed 1 for my machine and was going through a box of old joysticks that I was given and BAM! I found one in the box!!!

    I have a neo geo/no name jamma cabinet which I also added the emulator option connecting a pc. The reason why I added the PC to my cabinet is classics like robotron never made it to my country. I mapped p1 joystick for the left joystick and p2 joystick for the right one. And I absolutely agree nothing plays and feels like robot ron. I love it although I am bad at it.

    I've always thought about what the humanoid hero would look like in a mural. Was I ever wrong? I was thinking that he would look like the Cobra Snake armor. I remember 2 years ago when he was first brought to 3d/CGI life. 🐍

    I just played Robotron for the first time yesterday. Quite an interesting game, I ended up playing for quite a while, after I figured out how to play. I think I got to wave #4 lol.

      Its a fascinating game...think of what people thought of it in 1981!!

      Yeah kinda hard to imagine...Also impressive how they made it look so colourful on just a regular CRT...like when you put colour changing LEDs in the buttons lol.

      Try Smash TV. It's similar in that it uses 2 joy sticks. It's been ported to many systems like arcade, NES, SNES, Genesis and so on.
      I also recommend iRobot on arcade.

    yeah all these years later and Robotron 2084 is the only game that hits that spot. It's like you have to divide your brain in half and dedicate both to separate thought processes

    Fantastic game! very true about the 1amp fuse for the coin/start lights. Williams was smart and included that on the original linear power supply. Did you do the ram upgrade as well?

    • @tntamusements
      @tntamusements  10 років тому

      Remember---that once the new power connector is replaced, and the new power supply is installed, ram failure is pretty much eliminated! We do send extra rams with the machine though, plus the chart to install them.

    Hey man, just have have question if u got a chance. I have a Robotron machine with over 10 games on it but me and my dad were wondering if we can change the mother board to get the original game experience, because or Robotron seems slower/ harder than it should be. Thank u for ur time

    Robotron & Pacman..My 2 fav videos of all time...Where did you find the 4" Wico sticks??! Who has them??!

    • @tntamusements
      @tntamusements  10 років тому

      I bought two sets from a collector who reproed them...perhaps 8 months ago...do not remember who, but do a search on klov (killer list of videos) newsgroup to find him! I think each set was $40....(JUST the joystick and shaft, NOT the lower part! But they fit into most bases just fine...they are an inch taller.)

      You may able to have new rods made in a lathe machine for your standart sticks. (it is just a guess.)

    Do you have a part number for that replacement mainboard connector? I have been wanting to change that connector on my cabinet for years but was never 100% sure of the exact part.

    good info here,i did not know if the lights or coin inserts must be hooked up also when testing.I had a space dungeon repaired and he put in a computer power supply,on it and the sound did work for a bit but slowly disappeared.And probably because i just sent him the pcb boards and not the coin door or lights,and he used a small speaker to test,so when i put back into machine and hooked up the original speakers the sound slowly vanished.and the coin door was never hooked up.He said it could be roms or rams.just wondering if there was a tester for the rams? instead of replacing all of them?
