I had a buddy get a random vin number for an old 2000s cargo van. He put commercial insurance on it to get his authority active and he was paying 500-700 a month. He paid 6 months upfront and once he aged his authority he added a semi truck and dropped the cargo van from his insurance that’s how he aged his authority and saved thousands a month
Its been a week since i finished orientation and im still without a trailer. Not a good look on Landstar.. hiring new bcos without even the proper allotment of equipment
I just finished orientation today. Waiting for a trailer out of fort worth. They gave the option to pay for our fuel to bobtail home, but really dont to want to do that
@@TC2020-w8u this is bullshit.. I sat in fw till yesterday, no trailer.. now I'm back home, no trailer, and they don't work on weekends. Just racking up expenses with no income. Kinda pissed
I heard you say in a previous video that youre thinking of going carrier. Lemme know because im thinking the same thing. Shippers would probably rather work with a 2-truck carrier, than a one truck carrier. If so, how can i contact you?
1.50 a mile to L.A. isnt worth your time to get a good load. But earlier you got all excited to drive from Chicago to Louisville for 1.71$ ??????? So then you deadhead back and forth frim PHX to L.A. and go to Las Vegas????? What are you doing ? Doesnt make sense to me at all.
It's not just the trailer and insurance, it's your back office stuff too, tax preparation, ifta, truck warranties, and discounts for tires, fuel, pm's and loads for days, I been working for them for couple of years make about 3000 a week and don't have to spend anytime doing paperwork it's all about what you want, landstar is a great company, they only make money if you succeed
@@josephlolley7390 you’re right but your comment is exactly how an employee thinks, less responsibility good money, and let me say there is nothing wrong with that everyone has their priorities, but in the entrepreneur mindset we want the whole responsibility but also the whole bag and to work and grow your own name but I’m not sure what the goal is for him
@@alejandrosotelo5176 it's just personal preference, I like working for them, they help me out alot, I do 6000 to 7000 in revenue a week bring home about 3000 to 3500, with not a whole lot of worries, I'm also at home couple days a week
Just bought my first truck today. starting the on boarding process with Landstar tomorrow. I run flatbed, so im hoping to make a little more.
I make more running dry van.
I wat h this guy sometimes and I feel like he is really bad at picking his loads.
Awesome videos as usual..... 🤜🏿🤛🏼
Nice seeing you man be safe

Great move...definitely will use that technique
What is the name of truck map you using that shows the miles in red. That’s nice. You’re doing great.

If you can run 3-4 loads per week in good weather, save on truck wear too with the DH. Interesting.
Seems like it should work ok. Next week Ill know for sure
Fellas this guy has did everything right still not making money I mean. 28 days off no truck payment. This is not it

I ended up deadheading to Salt Lake from Phoenix for a trailer
@@truckingthesevenseas holy crap. Now I'm maybe thinking I should take the bobtail money home 😂
I had to drive all the way to Colorado to get a trailer out of them!
And then it was broken!
Good luck😂

If you where brokering your own loads, the back hauls could pay something that it may be worth it to do 😊
Why are you raking loads that pay 1.71$ a mile?
28 days off
Do you need hazmat endorsement before applying?
@@The253911 yes
Yes
No you do not. You just need to pass the background check and then get your hazmat within 90 days of starting.

Leaving a lot of money in the table and then using fuel out of pocket and wear and tear idk but I’d be jigjoggin a back haul somewhere fuck that
Why are you running these cheap ass loads?
You realize giving landstar 30% is way more than a trailer and insurance on your own
It's not just the trailer and insurance, it's your back office stuff too, tax preparation, ifta, truck warranties, and discounts for tires, fuel, pm's and loads for days, I been working for them for couple of years make about 3000 a week and don't have to spend anytime doing paperwork it's all about what you want, landstar is a great company, they only make money if you succeed
You aren’t giving Landstar 30% tho you are making 70% of the line haul. What’s 100% of nothing?
It's actually 65% of linehaul for van. 100% of accessorials

Bro why would you willingly dead head that much ? So much wasted drive time jig jog a back haul at least
