I just want to say, I gain so much value from your content. I'm not a saw builder but I do like to tinker with them and watching you work and hearing you talk about them with such clarity makes me understand saws so easily. Please keep up the good work! And I think I'm sold on my next 50cc saw.

Awesome vid! Echo saws seriously underrated because they don't have the same name or scream like the other two majors......but last for ever and responsive to mods...u bet! Great work!

I was cutting down a 30 inch diameter tree down
I was disappointed at the CS4910 bogging down .
    It is brand new.
After some change with chain tension and use a flat screwdriver to enlarge the deflector
Hole by flattening the exhaust tab
    The saw run better .
I’ll try again by removing the restrictive tube
    Thanks for the video .
So far 1 gal of mixed gas thru the saw.
It is good saw for $350
Hopefully the exhaust mod will add power

They sure haven't dropped in price that's for sure. I paid 379 at Home Depot for one today, $400 out the door. Seems like 3 yrs after your video you could get them cheaper. Oh yeah price inflation. Lol Cool video, subscribed, I'll definitely have to do a muffler mod on this thing.

On the Echo cs-4910, if you remove the inner guide plate is there any small part that’s behind it? I took mine apart to clean it and now the oil runs out like crazy. I’m wondering if there was a part behind that guide plate in the area where the oil comes out that I lost so never got put back.

And, I know you probably don't get paid enough from youtube, and this is only a little 50 cc saw, but you should do (please) a porting video, and carb mods too - for the regular guy, like you did on the big echo with the epoxy in the transfers. You don't epoxy these non-cap transfers do you? These little 50cc saws, though a little slow, will definitely put wood on your truck, and don't break your back (though you might need to lean due to the short bar). But, go for the smaller wood aye?

how are the transfers are they the same as 501p? or do they do the husq trick of detuning with smaller transfers? looks like it would be harder, as there are no caps and they would need a completely different cyl. I love how light they are, even with the plastic bars. And, longer break in is true. 10 tanks maybe? I know you can just look and tell, because you have done a million of them, but if you are just moding the muf, open up the hole just a little more, and a lot more on the deflector, and they run great.

You seem to have a lot of experience with these saws. I have a 501p that I've run for the past year. Its filter seems to get excessively dirty. Usually by the 3rd tank I'm loosing power and have to swap filters. I cut a lot of dead dry and dusty oak which i know contributes to the issue. I also run an old cs400 a lot as well through the same wood but I've never have an issue with the filtration system clean it once every week or so and its good to go. Is this a problem you've encountered by any chance? If you have any suggestions on how possible fixes I'd be very grateful. Love my 501p but getting a bit tired of having to clean out a caked filter every time i use it.

Ditto. I wish they would have kept the old round pleated filter like on the 400 and 370. If you look at a Shindy 488 it’s the same kind of filter. Basically after the merger with Shindy these style of filter came on the 500,490 and the 590 saws. They have reverted back on the 7310 to the pleated filter. I’m hoping for a new version of 50 and 60cc saws based on the 7310. I use a foam pre filter from the chainsaw guy on mine. It saves my filter from almost all of the dirt.
