The first deadlock guide that seems to be written by someone who actually play deadlock and sentinels.
I might add Deadlock are extremely good for deep trap play. Just make sure to tell your smoker to delay their smoke or smoke slightly forward.
What I meant by deep trap is that you can actually put a trap right on the chokepoint most of the time like A or B main in ascent. The problem is your smoker often smoke off that place so you won't get the kill which is why it's necessary for them to delay smoke or, even better, smoke a bit deeper for ez pick.
I tried to run this with pocket smoker duo and it basically win me 1-2 free round every match. My friend play brim and even get an ace with his ult once using this strat.

Recently played using Deadlock on Haven. She was so good at mixing up and making people second guess where the stun is going to be.
Valorant players always say new agents are bad when they just lack the creativity to work with them.
I still think she needs a buff. Raze, Jett, Omen, Sage and any other character are able to get around the wall without it alerting on defense. A chamber trip, KJ sentry, or well placed cypher trip will always give me info about enemies trying to flank. Many enemies are still able to dash out of sonic sensors. Sage gets access to two slow orbs which is way better than deadlock's gravnet as she only gets 1 and the enemies can pull it off easily. Deadlock does get her wall for free but a sage wall is better because it does the same thing while allowing her to keep a recharging signature ability. The wall also allows her to gain height advantage or completely deny enemies from pushing a place if it is placed in a tunnel.
I think deadlock's problem still remains that she has a ton of agent's that counter her ability. The video shows great tips but most of these tips get stomped on due to a ton of agents countering her. She really still needs a buff and provide some sort of unique value that other agents can't bring to the table.
Key is to catch them off guard, or in placing where they have to make noise. I still agree with the buff but ive had good success in placing my sensors in a flank position where they would be shooting, common spike planting site

What i think is also quite useful is sound sensor opposite of spike because it triggers on defuse noise.

On attack I like using her wall on the spike to stall a defuse. It depends on where it’s planted tho, because some spots can be left open but if you ha a good corner like dice on bind you can get full coverage. Gravnet is stronger paired with her wall. Sometimes I use the sound sensor like a tripwire.
She’s a great agent, but doesn’t fit everyone’s play style and that’s why people complain.

i mained deadlock for a bit durinng her release. i never thought she was weak and im glad someone else thinks so
I recently unlocked deadlock and played a game with her on lotus, in my opinion I honestly think her sonic sensors are much better used to counter flanks on attack over the barrier mesh simply the fact after some time the barrier mesh gets taken down even if the enemy doesn’t destroy it, what I learned with deadlock’s sonic sensors is place the sensors where the enemies least likely expect them an example on lotus there are two spots flankers can come from and I use her sound sensors on walls where the enemies can’t see them or else they’ll destroy it and it proven to work against flankers, that’s with me at least, I hope you can maybe give her sound sensors another shot against flankers on attack by simply placing them where enemies will least likely to see them

@@BoniValo here’s how I like to keep things simple, deadlock’s sound sensors are best when on attack while here barrier is best on defence, I’m a chamber main and that’s sorta how I see both his tp and trap, his tp more as an attacker and his trip as a defender

I like her wall and Ult, but her Grenade and Sound barriers feeling rly bad on more opened maps for me.
A litte Buff or Change on her ability's could make her feel more usable for everyone.
Would be nice if you could use her Sound barrier on every wall(Ground & ceiling) and her Grenade could get an option like Sovas darts, to bounce of walls or explode by collision maybe.

The net is essentially a sound sensor that is slightly more effective
Deadlock is perfect for punishing enemy to entering to site. Nobody shiftwalks when if they shoot the wall or enter to the site while two defender try to kill you.

this is what im saying. all of my friends say shes bad because her trips are bad at watching flank but even though shes a sentinel thats not really what her kit is good for. her trips are more for punishing the enemies for pushing onto site instead of watching flank

Some people forget that all roles have hybrid role too.
Like, controller for example.
Astra is more like controller-initiator (have concuss + vulnerable).
While Viper is more like controller-sentinel (have setup on wall/orb).
Omen is controller -duelist (could entry) or initiator if the flash counted for someone.
Brim is like controller + crowd control.
While harbor is max controller while all util is smokes xD
Same as all roles, I think. Chamber could entry or safe peeking some angles.
KJ/cypher is like total sentinel imo.
While deadlock, probs hybrid initiator sentinel.
I might be wrong it's just my random opinion.

Ive been maining her since she came out. At first i thought she was weak. Now i fucking love her
On defence: I can stop the team from pushing down a main corridor and pick them off up to 3 at a time because they all are distracted by shooting the barrier down instead of rotating sites. The sensors i either place on site where bomb would be places (noise) or at the end of flank where they would shoot, so gives me an idea of where they are going. I always place them in a position where the enemies are most likely to make noise (common spike plant spot, end of flank where they shoot, etc)
On offence: ive blocked off a certain side of site so i can either pick them off when they try to shoot the barrier down, or make them push a different way giving me an easy kill
And her ultimate?? Pshhhh. Its insane. Its fairly easy to dodge but i think most people panic. I ended a 1v4 very easily with her: trapped someone in bath with my barrier, then caught someone in my net and killed them, then got my ult and reeled someone in. Then killed the guy trapped and the last guy trying to free the person in my ult
Its VERY easy to distract the enemies with her abilities. I rely less on her abilities actually forcing a rotate or trapping them but more on the enemy team being more focused my abilities when they come out. Shes great

I love playing deadlock she is like everything chamber is not, since my frd is a chamber main since chamber was released due to his awp skills I was looking for a character to fit my play style it's not like deadlock is the agent for me I am not sure of it but since me and my frd queue together is a lot easier to play deadlock and chamber together and since I used to play sage a lot deadlock has just given me more option to play

Deadlock is simple to use at first, but as you play further you find more creative ways to play her

She is still a jack of all trades, master of none. (I know that's not the full quote, but unfortunately the last part does not apply). She has a 0% pick rate in pro play and a negative win rate (which sentinels should not have statistically because anytime they go up against comps without them there win rate should go up to above 50% even if slightly). She unfortunately does not gather enough information like other sentinels do and her wall is less effective than sage wall on maps where Sage is good. On other maps information is key. I think she is ok in no comm low Elo simply because she slows fast pushes really well, but thats it. If they don't fast push your sight, she gains the least info and puts in little to no effective work that the other sentinels can do well.
What I think they need to fix her:
1. Change her grenade to either be a bigger radius or travel quicker. It is very easy to dodge and does not provide enough of an advantage if enemies get hit when compared to all other similar throwables. Weaker throwable = easier to hit imo.
2. Upgrade her wall to connect to surfaces better or give an outline when placing it (If throwing on screen). It is surprisingly easy to not cover a full surface making it inconsistent compared to sage. (ESPECIALLY FOR LOWER ELO PLAYERS)
3. Her sound trips do not give any information. If someone is slow walking past it, you should get a notification when someone completes a crossing. A voice line would suffice. (Someone's being sneaky) or something like this.
Pro play isnt ranked. We should NEVER compare ranked to pro scene bc those are two different games imo

The people saying deadlock are weak are the same people that said Harbor was weak. They’re not weak, you just haven’t figured out that Deadlock != KJ, just like Harbor != Viper

the tip of placing your wall to hold flank isn't that good, because it force you to commit to the hit and you cant rotate, and deadlock is like half initiator half sentinel

I will have to agree that with right condition, she’s very good. Still, she’s a bad agent overall for me in design and gameplay perspective.
Her kits is a mixture of weakened abilities of other agents. She have high skill floor. Her coordination is limited. And she get less reward from high risk compared to other Sentinel.
Actually, I only care that her character design is very linear. I learn a little character design and you won’t make her like Soldier 76. It’s the most painful part for me, when they could iterate her ability around her ult, making her more unique unlike what she had been.

I was convinced Deadlock is utter trash. After watching the vid, maybe she isn't that bad, but I would still very much love to see her getting one more slow nade, her sound traps being recallable mid round and both utilities not affecting allies with the slow/stun. What do you think?
Love seeing people who have the same thoughts about Deadlock, In my opinion she is very strong and unique, sadly almost nobody knows these facts, I think they should play against a player who exactly knows how to play her to just slap them the truth in the face, I would trap them in a cocoon since it's so fun

I played Deadlock on ranked for the first time and She's the best agent to play.
She has to have the best utility
I think she still needs a buff on attack side man, she doesn't have any real power to push and take space. And for the rank that I am in, it's completely impossible if your initiators and duelists are pussies who refuse to use their util such as a flash to make the defenders go away and disrupt their formation. And as some people already said, Dead's kit is a redudnt but 1 step downward of the whole Sent's crew. There's not much incentive if the sensors need an extra step to make them work. If they can't make the sensors trigger off of sight, then at least make them stun people instantaneously cause any player with half-decent reaction (like one of my friends) can just pop a bullet to avoid concussion. the gravnet is kinda ok except that it really varies on the skill of the player you trapped. The wall needs to have it's 4 other weak points removed and lessen the HP of the main core.
Deadlock isnt used at pro play, but ranked isn't pro play so every agent is viable there.
She is good, there just isn’t really a reason to pick her over other characters. Why would up you want a character that is half iniator half sentinal when you could have an anitiator and a sentinal that can mix up the set ups and lineups just as much as deadlock can? She doesn’t stand out from the cast.

Using wall as a flank watch is like putting up a sage wall behind you. It’s terrible use of util + if you need to leave asap or do a quick rotate, you just screwed your team over. Please don’t ever do this. The wall is 10x better to slow enemy retake

Deadlock is strong in all the wrong ways, it’s like when you go to fight a boss, would you rather have him have cool lore, unique attack patterns and maybe even some secret weaknesses to exploit or just have a normal mob but with 10,000 hp. Deadlock is that bloated mob, why does it need to take nearly 2 people spraying their entire vandal clip to break a wall that costs ZERO CREDITS AND IS RECHARGEABLE. Her ultimate also isn’t fun, while I do think the wall bounce is cool, it is not fun being stuck unable to see or do anything while stuck in the cocoon and needing to have two guys with rifles hyper focused on you in order to be saved. Her gameplay sucks, playing against her sucks, her lore sucks, her personality sucks, her character design is kind of ok but it’s riot they can do much better. She is a really big step down from other fun agents in the game and I hope newer agents don’t continue on this downward trend.

She is the worst agent right now. She is the new yoru: her wall is worse than sage because it doesnt block bullets or sight so you still need a smoke, her sensors dont hold flanks and can get some kills maybe but a cypher trip or alarmbot is way more consistent, the net is just bad it does nothing it gives a literal accuracy boost to the person hit and the can remove it when they want to. It doesnt have the kill potential of a faide seize or the combo plays because of its removeability. And the ultimate gets 0.5 kills on average on an agent that isnt even preffered to funnel ult orbs into. I dont mind you maining her, hell i even enjoy most of your videos but saying that deadlock is better than yoru is just spreading misinformation.
On defend is ok but stop being overrated and said she is good on attack. this agent is absolute trash on attack. one of the main priority for sentinel is to stop flank which deadlock cant. even in the video said that used her wall to care flank which make no absolute sense and might be one of the most stupid thing to defend deadlock that I ever heard. If you use that logic then it mean sage wall can also watch flank? wtf? So for example from the video you cant hold flank if they walk from cave and ez flank.
