It's crazy how your brain doesn't hear something for 20 years, but you still remember it like you were 7 years old. Crazy man
This is a gift man, many people don't have this ability, so enjoy :)
So true
Absolutely! Same happened to me and I was amazed, some of these melodies are wonderful, just perfect.
Probably means you don't smoke any of that stuff and your brain is healthy haha
I can explain that because I'm a hypnotherapist. Your mind only exists in the here and now, it doesn't understand the concept of time and future/past so if you first heard this when you were 7 then every time you hear it your mind still thinks you are 7. That's how we use memories in hypnosis to help people work through problems. I played this game in 2021 for the first time since I played it as a kid and I can still remember all the stages for the same reason.
Absolutely underrated sound track. On of the very best.
My childhood is flashing before my eyes lol
Hot damn, this OST is absolute genius.
Ah, the power of the 8-bit sound tracks...
When I was a kid, I was a metalhead without even noticing! This ost rocks hard as hell!
Woodlands 2 is by far the best one,it has such a catchy tune to it
I would argue that the Ending has the catchiest tune
I always loved the track "Joe". So much nostalgia.
Edit: and Distant Thunder... so much epicness coming out of 8-bit sound!
Greg Tanner I love them both!
"Joe" is actually just an 8-bit rendition of "Long Distance" from The Super (Revenge of) Shinobi.
In any case, those are my two favourite tracks, as well.
Distant Thunder is best ever!
yes this is the one outside the ship :)
I've always loved the soundtrack to the entire Harbor level, but especially First Step and Distant Thunder
@@TOGS_Softworks great stage too! Fighting on the ship while it's pouring with rain
Definitely need Distant Thunder playing whilst my body is lowered into the ground... Preferably alive so I can listen to it. Happily knowing it could be the last thing I heard.
great soundtrack from a classic game
Masterpiece. I don't think I'll ever forget Distant Thunder (5:06), Ending (13:04), Joe (2:02), Woodland 2 (9:52) and First Step (3:42).
You forgot Spirit lol
@@pyrotechnick420 Let's get it in there!
@@pancon5 LOL very nice. This game was my childhood I spent probably a hundred hours trying to beat it rofl
@@pyrotechnick420 It was my favourite game by far back then, I loved it so much! I played it for months until I finally beat it.
I had a friend come over and go through Neo City as I was watching so I could figure out the best path, it was hell in there! Video walkthrough before UA-cam. :P
@@pancon5 Lol that's awesome I was completely on my own so I it took me probably like playing every day for 6 months before I finally beat the game
Don't need SFX if they're already in your head.
tu tu tuuuu, tuu tuuu tuuu tuuu tu tu!!!
Yuzo Koshiro is God. Change my Mind.
Im too!!
Sometimes I find myself looking for that elusive auto-replay button on youtube... We are all very lucky to find this awesome hidden gem of a soundtrack.
Not a single one that doesn't cause goosebumps, every track so distinct. Darkside - as menacing as ever... Though I'd prefer they looped longer.
une des meilleures ost de jeux vidéos et de yuzo koshiro ! ;)
This is ROCK
Hey everyone here that owned a game gear:
We were gods among gameboy owners lol
2:50: Boss Battle
11:42: Final Boss
6:31 "Double jump" and "walking on water" skills activated.
haha. Was that with yellow ninja?
@@AndrewTheTransformer Indeed. The green ninja does "double jumps", and the yellow ninja does "walking on water"
@@michaelwan4543 ah yes. Been awhile since I played this game. It is amazing and various methods to make this game more challenging by starting each level in a particular order or by using a certain colour ninja throughout the game where possible.
i've listened to a lot of chiptune and this is still my fav soundtrack
I don"t know why, but "Rush" gives me such Nostalgia
Best track in this game :)
for me its either joe or boss
I definitely have to arrange Distant Thunder. It's stupidly good.
I learned to play videogames with this one. So many memories. Feel like... Well. You know. You know.
The only thing bad about these tracks is that they arent longer !
Thank you for uploading this.
I have started a Genesis/Megadrive remake of this, as a little poject to learn how to code. You can see some of the progress here:
ua-cam.com/video/88veO4VykEM/v-deo.html
Epic stuff!
Bei 01:05 muss ich schon wieder heulen xDD Alle Anderen hatten damals einen Gameboy und ich den GAME GEAR \^o^/ und SHINOBI Geil!!
Was hab ich da geschrieben lol
I played my firend's copy of this and eventually got myself a copy. I liked the opening and enjoyed the different abilities each ninja specialized in.
Thanks for uploading this!
Awesome soundtrack to an awesome game! Thanks for the upload
1:01: Stage Start
An absolutely amazing sound track. SO evocative. And that final track!!
12:59: Game Over
Very good ! The version 8 bits !
Whenever I hear an 8-bit cover of Dragonforce or other speed metal bands, I'm reminded of this soundtrack.
Thanks a lot pal !!!
I'm so surprised to see there's no love for Distant Thunder in the metal cover community like there is for so many classic 8bit games. Someone get on this!
3:37: Stage Clear
13:04: All Clear
Que maravilla
12:55: Life Lost
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Maneiro!
regard from france
Who can remember the powers of the 4 colours? :)
03:57 悪魔城伝説に似てる
03:57 like Castlevania III
haha yes
In only sonic shinobi street of rage and shining froce.
I can't believe there music are form GameGear.
Even with the suck hardware sound but for professional, they still can make A grate music.
In G.G Shinobi, Streets of Rage and (I think) the Game Gear version of Sonic, the composer was the same person, Yuzo Koshiro. Legend!
@@lowmoralfiber9270 You forgot Batman Returns. This ost was pre-Motohiro Kawashima 1992. Anything Koshiro made after Sonic 1/GG Shinobi and Streets Of Rage 1 on MD Genesis was always with Morohiro Kawashima hence why the music changed a bit.
@@Oysterblade84 Thanks for the heads up!
ruuuuuuuuuuush :) stage 2 :p
何か切ないな
Ryu Hayabusa disliked this.
The Last Dungeon 👍🏻
Is it just me, or do the battle songs seem slightly different for each boss?
Are these the actual names? Seems like they'd have different ones.
Also, can't mention best soundtracks for video games without mentioning some of these gems.
3声だけの宇宙。。
First step sounds very castlevania ish to me
I would really like ua-cam.com/users/musicalbasics to play some music from this game track that was part of my childhood! It would be fantastic!
Brazil: Gostaria muito que o @musicalbasics tocasse alguma música dessa trilha do jogo que fez parte da minha infância! Seria FANTÁSTICO!
