We switched from an Airstream 24 foot tour to a Gretch 24 foot ion Strada tour. Airstream product was crap compared to Gretch. Just look underneath a Gretch compared to Airstream and you will know. We had so many problems with our brand new Airstream and all they would offer is us to come back and try to fix. It was a 3 hour drive each way every time we went for a repair . We asked them to take our Airstream back and give us another one to try, but they wouldn't budge. Their customer service all the way to the top was terrible. We are excited to be taking our first big trip in our Gretch this week. We will keep you posted.
Sorry you had such trouble with Airstream. So disappointing. However, your troubles are behind you. Enjoy the open road with your new Strata! Safe travels!
We looked at both the Interested and the Grech at the Hershey Show and although there are some nice creature comforts in the Interstate, the build quality is much better on the Grech.

Then saw Grech on livin your vision youtube and got hooked. Been following you guys once I saw your Turismo. Love your channel. Have not yet purchased the Grech but getting closer .
We love our Grech as well. We have a 22 foot terreno. Customer service is top notch and the van is beautiful, quiet and with the ion you can stay disconnected. Amazing experience in it.
Having purchased two Tiffin RV's from my "local" RV dealer and then purchasing an Airstream Interstate 19, the experience is night and day. Airstream customer service and dealership experience are far superior. The quality of the build is great and far exceeds earlier RV's I've owned. Also, having looked at the Grech a lot, I found the standard Interstate 19 with a generator and LP much better for camping. I like having a quiet little generator. Thanks. I will also say that followup from my Airstream saleman at Airstream of Salt Lake City was absolutely superb. Thanks Jimi.
I’m so glad your experience with Airstream has been superb! Customer service is so important. We had zero problems with Airstream while we had it and our 19 was grand. If it wasn’t for the generator we would still be Airstream 19 owners and probably loving it. Appreciate your comments. Hey quick question, would you be open to talking with us about your Interstate 19 on camera in our Van Grades segment? If so, email us @ wadeandann@howwevan.Com. We would love to chat with you. Thanks a bunch! Safe travels.
Great video! Very detailed explanation from the beginning. I feel very well informed on the differences between the two models. Thanks so much. Really enjoying your videos!
Nice Video. I think the comparison videos by people who actually use the vans are the best ones. I think the biggest con for the Airstream is that it was manufactured by Thor Motor Coach. I own a Thor van and the build quality is less than I like. I think they do a better job with the Airstream due to the price point, but it’s still Thor. You do mention the build quality and customer service of Gretch. As an end user, that is very important and sometimes gets lost in the moment when the original purchase is made. Again, love the video and appreciate your candid review.
Thank you so much for your comment. I agree! We hope GrechRV stays private and small so they continue to focus on their great customer service and attention to detail. In the end, things break in RVs (how can it not with all the shakes and bumps) but it’s how dealers and manufacturers handle them that keep a customer happy or not. I should note that we had a few things that needed fixed in our Airstream and the dealer fixed all of them quickly and to our satisfaction! Thank you for watching and safe travels!
Just getting started on our search for a van. This is a very informative video sharing all the pros and cons. The pictures at the end were really value added as it gave us more to think about. Really like the idea of the window in the bathroom. Also it looks like there is more room in the Grech to swivel the driver seat around. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for your comments and for watching! Glad you found the video helpful. As for the driver’s seat, it swivels but probably no more than Airstream’s. Good luck on your search!
Wade worked hard on the pictures. Appreciate you taking time to comment on that! I thought the photos really helped demonstrate the similarities and differences in each camper van.
Having the two-floor plan next to each other helps to see why we have less seating in rear or overhang or why bath little shifted removes the space for coat closet and pull out drawer
Only by checking the two-floor plans side by side, I could see that Turismo left some space behind the driver's side and also near the door and the deep sink is not sideways so this leaves small space on the back side and no third-person side seating. The same is true behind the driver's side where if they squeezed the bath near the driver's side then some dimensions update for the bath would leave room for a coat closet and pull-out pantry and still the fourth person seating around the TV area.
Thank you for your video! You have solidified our decision to go Grech. We are currently trying to decide between the Turismo and Terreno with the ion package. We are brand new to this and our travel needs seem similar to yours. Would you say the Turismo has enough room to accomidate a soon to be out of the house teen? We have a couple more years with our son before becoming empty nesters.
Thanks for watching our videos! Glad they have been helpful for you. In my opinion, the Turismo would not be big enough for three people for anything other than a day or rare overnight. Great for two. Tight for three.
Guys, thanks for this video. I have been waiting for a comparison video for some time. I have been researching vans for over two years and I have concluded that Grech are the best. The only negative on the Turismo is that it does not have a macérator. The larger Grech vans have it. In my opinion you left out the best feature of the Grech, it’s construction. Have you looked at the underside? Have you seen the videos on the factory construction process and the superior construction methods and materials used? That is the real difference. Yes, the items you pointed out are important, but they pale in comparison to the construction. I also wanted to point out your comment on the Grech not having a closet. That is why the bathroom is bigger? No space for a closet. You also commented on the counter space intruding on the bed. True, but in a Grech you get double induction burners. On an all electric Interstate you only get one induction burner. I see that you added Owl’s tire carrier and ladder. Also the storage boxes. Great products. Any intention of adding an owl front bumper with a winch and lights? Are those tires and wheels the original Grech wheels and tires? I did not see a video on the additions to your Turismo. Thanks!
So many great points! We are agree with most but Wade does prefer gravity to the macerator for dumping the tanks. We know many folks hands down love their macerators. We don’t plan on adding anything to the front bumper at this time. The tires are standard with the van. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Look forward to hearing from you again!
So glad it was helpful! We pulled some of the information together when we were making are decision and thought it could help others! Thanks again for your very thorough list! It is fantastic!
@@howwevan Something I noticed and I think Grech must fix it that there is no backseat headrest in Turismo and I think they used the pic from Terreno. We should point out this inaccuracy and folks here can view it well. I did ask my dealership and gave this feedback as well to somehow accommodate the head backrest for the future.
Loved your video! Great comparison with the two models. I also just found out about Grech. I have to do some more research on them here in the Chicago area to see if it will be easy to get any work done on it if needed. Thanks again!
Thank you for your very detailed video. I like the airstream looks. Can you bring passengers on the back sofa seat? Do they come with seat belts and will the ride be smooth or bouncy? Thanks,
Airstreams are beautiful inside and out. Yes there are two seat belts on the back couch. It was bouncy and loud in the back.glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching!
I think Grech should also take care of two things that you also highlighted in previous videos. 1. Floor Mat. They could use the full cab area mat that stays. 2. Better front cab blackout shades.
the bath window in the Gretch is very nice. since a large percentage motorhomes are resold within 5 years Id be curious as to how much value each will retain for resale.
Great comparison, thanks, we’re looking at something similar. Slight tangent but… where do you store the mattress topper when not in use? That’s one of the things we’re trying to figure out!
Hi … thanks for your question … we store our mattress topper on the ottoman on driver’s side under the refrigerator. We did a packing video of everything in our van if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/uD7oF3bVZi0/v-deo.html Thanks so much for watching! Safe travels!
Excellent content here: Thank you for doing such a comprehensive comparison. This is helping my wife and I to decide on picking one of these two top tier class B’s as “the one”. One question we keep coming up with is how you folks are using your refrigerator/freezer. Seems like we would love a slightly bigger combo unit and would appreciate your feedback on this specifically. Thank you
Thank you for the nice comment and your question. For the refrigerator/freezer, Airstream Interstate 19’s is slightly bigger. However, on our 27 day adventure we made ours work just fine. We had enough drinks for a few days as well as meals ready to go. I make sure everything in the fridge/freezer has a purpose and will be used. Every so often we would go to the store and tried to only get things we knew we had space for. Check out our packing video where I show how much we can get in the fridge/freezer: How We Pack {EVERYTHING} In Our Class B: ua-cam.com/video/uD7oF3bVZi0/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
I"m interested in knowing if the ride is different. I'm looking for the quieter cab and road noise insulation. Also...the tanks...are they heated sufficiently for winter travel.
The Sprinter is the same in both Grech and Airstream. The tanks in the Grech are heated. We have used the tank heaters in cold weather and been fine. However, with an extended period of cold weather or temps below freezing, we winterize the rig. Thanks for watching!
Btw, I am very familiar with Grech and they are an excellent company that has lots of experience in upfitted high end vehicles. I remember you well when the entire industry was experiencing delays and all the frustrations that go with it. I live in SoCal as well and it’s terrific having a manufacturer nearby. Good luck and best wishes.
Thanks for your comment. We are members of the AS Facebook group … great group of folks who are very helpful and knowledgeable. Appreciate that group and your participation very much! Thank you for watching and safe travels!
They both performed well. We have had the Grech longer and it has done great. The underside of Grech is better protected but they both have tank heaters and neither are all season RVs. Thanks for watching and for your question! Safe travels!
Grech’s reputation is rapidly growing. So, don’t think “no one has heard of a Grech” is accurate. However, Appreciate the comparison. Will definitely look at both before making a decision.
Agree. We were just trying to say relative to Airstream, Grech brand recognition isn’t as strong. But we agree it is growing. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Great question. We feel that given the boxes only add about 15 inches to the back, our camper van is still very easy to drive and park. Plus, I prefer the “outdoor stuff” to stay outside the rig. Thanks for your comment!
To be honest, I can’t remember. We saw a lot of vans. At the end of our search, we were debating Pleasure-Way Ascent vs Airstream Interstate 19. We landed on the Airstream. Then discovered Grech. Thanks for your question and for watching!
@howwevan They build limos diesel pusher buses and dynamite class Bs. Motorhome Specialists probably have the best deals. Check them out next time you make a move
Thank you for the video. Question: Could you provide the CCC (Cargo Carry Capacity) that is shown on the driver's side door jamb of the Grech? The same request to anyone else on here who owns a Grech including the Terreno and Strada. Thank you.
We haven’t had a good chance to test it yet as we only purchased our Turismo last October and one of our first big trips was in January, so it wasn’t great weather to test the solar (plus, we drove every day so the batteries stayed fully charged due to the second alternator). My guess is the solar might support the basic lights and refrigerator for an extended time if your staying somewhere sunny. But as soon as you start running the AC your going to want to plug in to shore power or drive a bit to top off the batteries. But if we ever get a chance to do a true test of the solar, we’ll be sure to make another video and share the results.
Hi. The one we currently use in our Grech, we purchased on Amazon. Now Wade had to cut it to size. Here is a link to the mat: howwevan.com/item?id=56&a=Wooden+Bath+Mat If you want the mat we purchased for the airstream, it was purchased online at airstreamsupplycompany.com. Thank you for watching!
This is a very helpful video, thanks for doing it. Was just wondering if you ever looked at the Pleasure Way Accent and any thoughts or comments you might have?
Yes we did. We actually put money down on the Ascent. But there was supply chain issues and we couldn’t get one the way we wanted. So we moved onto the Interstate 19. And loved it. Until we found the Grech. Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Hi guys, would you say the dometic AC noise is a deal breaker? even if it’s ran on low? We live in Fl. and need the rear ac about 85% of the time, especially when sleeping.
I don’t think it’s a deal breaker for me. Though for Wade it might be if we needed it 85% of the time … he hates it on when sleeping. I can handle the noise (there isn’t much difference between low and high to be honest). It is possible that the newer models are quieter. We looked at the latest Airstream and their air conditioner was much quieter. Grech had told us they were making a change to the AC in January…haven’t seen it come out yet. Just try it out before you buy it and see if you can handle the noise. Good luck!
Hi thanks for your helpful vids, I have a weird question… which of these two vans had the best indoor Air Quality? Or put another way which had the least chemical smells, the least VOCs or less new car smell… I’m super sensitive to chemical outgassing ( migraines 😭) so looking for van with best air quality… does Tourismo have a strong smell compared to Interstate? Which would you say has better Air Quality? Luxury things like solid wood and other materials like aluminum help make the air quality healthier…so looking at these two luxury vans…or any other company who tries to limit formaldehyde and keep indoor RV air non toxic to not aggravate asthma and migraines and for general improved health of the owners… we spend lots of time in them sleeping etc so hopefully all RV companies will care more in the future and make efforts to keep indoor air clean…
Hi … thanks for the question. Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you. I don’t remember a new car smell in either of the vans but I’m not 100% sure. Sorry can’t be of much help. Safe travels.
Grech Pros ========= 1. Color - Tenorite color is nice 2. Exterior - Wide Chrome band looks nice 3. Concealed Stainless steel Utility Center. 4. Bath Window gives extra room feeling 5. Combo Microwave/Convection/Air Fryer 6. Under the chassis stainless steel 7. Firefly system 8. Porcelain Toilet 9. Big deep sink 10. Lagun table mount near door allows outside use 11. Better rim and tires 12. Blue Accent Lighting 13. Fiberglass bath door along with mirror Grech Cons ========== 1. No side seating on the back due to the bigger counter overhang and little extra bath and leaving unused space behind the driver. Two cooktops in the Ion model are nice but not required compared to the side seating space in the rear. 2. No macerator 3. Build quality concerns: Several Roof Leaks and Side Sliding Door issue reports. 4. No Coat Closet and pull-out pantry 5. Microwave is on the bottom/lower side (not good to get on knees and at 60 mph) and not top open for that location 6. Small Counter overhang in kitchen blocking the open view 7. No Separate Kitchen Screen 8. Loud Dometic A/C without heat strip 9. No Backsplash and Ceiling aluminum finish 10. No built-in shampoo, conditioner, or body wash station 11. Front cabin shades don’t stick properly 12. No solar ports 13. No lighter interior color options 14. Smart electric connector not present 15. No large Dealer network 16. No full utilization of space on the roof for extrasolar. Could go to 300W or 400W.
Wow! Great list. I think I agree with almost all of these. We don’t have a need at this time for solar ports, Wade prefers gravity to the macerator, and we haven’t had roof leaks (yikes). Again fantastic lists! Thanks so much for your comments and for watching.
Useful video for our research. For several months we thought Interstate 19, but we fell on Grech and we like what we see. There's a few in the bay area to check out....thanks for more data points!
@@howwevan When someone is boondocking then he doesn't have to idle the engine to charge batteries plus timberline doesn't work with low diesel (I think lower than 1/2) so if I have the ability to connect two solar arrays on both sides then it will keep the batteries charged (without using diesel and alternator to charge) and if my A/C allows heat strip then I could use that as well under low diesel conditions with solar charging my batteries.
Knock on wood … we haven’t had to find out. We do have the extended warranty to help should we need it. Also Grech is pretty good answering questions and troubleshooting should you need it. Plus the Facebook group has very knowledgeable and experienced folks who also provide suggestions and help. Thanks for watching!
I thought your video was excellent and found very helpful. I also found the foam padding on the Grech not up to the quality of the airstream. Just too soft and for me almost a deal breaker. The drivers' seats are very comfortable and not sure why Grech doesn’t carry throughout the back seating. One thing I noticed on the Airstream 19 models is the driver’s seat does go back as far as a typical Mercedes driver’s seat because it is blocked by the bathroom. I am 6’2 and found it was a bit tight especially for long drives and could be a bigger issue for taller drivers. Also as noted in a previous post, driver’s seat does not fully swivel around for the same reason. As you point out, there seem to be several posts on the Airstream quality and customer service which is disappointing. Conversely, I received a call from Grech regional sales manager in a very positive way soon after a request for information. After looking at both the 19- and 23-foot Airstream and Grech models, I am leaning towards the 23 and wanted t to get your perspective on why you choose the 19. Are any significant limitations on the 23 when traveling? I was also looking at the Airstream Atlas which is not only 23 feet put a bit wider. Any insight on travel restrictions and consideration would be appreciated. Seems to be a great floorplan. Obviously pricey but offers more space and a full shower. Your video was one of the best I’ve seen, balancing an objective, unbiased comparison, so great job. Good luck with your adventure. Any advice you could provide would be appreciated.
Glad you liked the video! We didn’t notice a difference in drivers seat placement between airstream and grech as we can remember … both seats went back far enough for Wade (6ft) and neither swiveled around completely. I can see if you were taller than it could be an issue as Wade puts the seat back as far as it will go in both vans. We chose the 19 ft for ease of parking. We wanted something we knew we could park anywhere in a normal sized spot. Also for Mercedes larger models don’t come with a 360 Birds Eye camera and that was a must have for us. Atlas is a class c so a bigger RV all the way around. It seems like a great RV but we don’t have much experience with Class Cs. Years ago, we rented a Minnie Winnie for a family vacation and it was perfect for a family of 4 and a dog. But for Wade and I, a camper van is all we need now. Though would love a separate shower! 😀 Appreciate your kind comments. Safe travels and thanks for watching!
I’m in the market of buying my first camper and considering B van and the Grech. How do you respond to the biggest complaint, the price! Over 200k MSRP. And how do you deal with the overhang of the stove and fridge when sleeping?
Totally wish the price was cheaper! Camper vans are fun and convenient. We love our Grech. As for the stove and fridge, I (Ann) sleep on the side with the overhanging stove and sleep at a bit of an angle to avoid it (note that we add an inch or so with our mattress topper and probably wouldn’t need to sleep at an angle if we didn’t use that). The fridge honestly doesn’t bother Wade even with the mattress topper. Thanks for watching!
We had two issues in our grech on the Mercedes side which was 1) our air conditioner … first the heater stopped working and we thought Mercedes fixed it but then the air conditioner kept making a clicking noise, blow hot air and then go back to cool. All fixed now and both issues were covered under warranty. 2) the door was hard to shut. It is manual door. And they fixed it but that wasn’t under warranty. Thanks for the question. Appreciate you watching!
Just call up GrechRV (headquartered in Riverside CA). They’ll be able to quickly tell you where to go! Tell them HowWeVan sent you! Thanks for your question and for watching!
So we can’t speak to the Airstream underneath as we don’t remember it so can’t make a comparison. @wolfgangkruger1725 says the underside of the Grech has superior construction and mentions there are videos on GrechRV factory construction process. Hope that helps! Thanks for your question!
Hello to both of you. First of all, I want to thank you for your channel. Your valuable experience is precious in order to properly select the choice and options for all buyers. Although Grech is a new player in this high-end Class B niche, there are no dealers in Canada unlike Airstream. Therefore, is there a way to import one at an equivalent total cost of a new airstream similar to your opinion? Currently, the only possible option is to buy a Greek at the limit of our common borders, pay a US state tax, then a Canadian federal sales tax, a provincial sales tax, add customs fees and convert our currencies...! At the end of this, no Canadian will be able to acquire one, unless it is registered in an American state and the vehicle remains in the USA for more than 6 months per year. Could a Grech representative perhaps find a solution to this impasse? Thank you for your collaboration. Your Canadian neighbor located in Montreal, who dreams of spending his retirement visiting Uncle Sam's country. Best regards. Ps. The historic city of old Quebec is a must for your next trip.😉
Hello and thanks for reaching out. We hope to make a trip to Canada soon! Montreal and Quebec will be on the short list! As for your questions about buying a Grech in Canada and the difficulties… please reach out to Grech directly sales@grechRV.com. Hopefully they can help you. Good luck! Hope to see you on the road.
These days we stream more than watch dvds. But nice to have when you can’t stream or hook into cable. Honestly can’t remember the last time watched a dvd. 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching us over a DVD!!! 😆
Thanks for comparison. The layout and design is pretty much the same. They are both using the same template. I wonder if it’s both the same company just using different names
Your welcome! Yes, agree these two vans have similar layout and design. But they are in fact two different companies- Grech is privately owned and Airstream is owned by Thor Industries, a public company. Also lots of vans have this layout including PleasureWay Ascent and American Coach Patriot. Thanks for your comment!
Grech nearest dealership and service center is closed to 900 miles away! Airstream/Mercedes Benz dealership less than 100 miles, North Eastern USA. If you don't reside reasonable close to California or Florida, purchasing a Grech Van would seem a risky investment at this time. The company requires more growth and expansion to promote serious interest from this Easterner, but I can be patient.
I understand. That would be an interesting question for Grech! Airstream has a great product and getting service is very important. If we were in your shoes, we may not have switched. But we are happy with Grech, their products and service. Thanks for your comments and for watching!
I will to see your decision when you we stock in Kentucky to fix a problem how much you will like Grech !!! When it will be the time to resale, how much you will like the Grech. You compare a company that have bern in the trailer and motorized vans in many years and tell us they are the same. You have the typical newbies reaction when it’s time to compare two RV manufactured company, prefer the best because it’s cheaper and more important because you love it. Now imagine y if you fall in love with Roadtrek. I wish you the best, alway stay in California.
You didn’t really compare prices-ie “bang for buck”. May not be important to you two, but I can assure you, it’s important for many. For example, how about depreciation after a few years?
We did mention Grech was a better value or “bang for your buck” in our opinion but didn’t want to go into pricing as it changes quickly, varies based on features and dealerships. As for depreciation it wasn’t something we considered. Sorry if the video didn’t meet your expectations. Safe travels!
@@howwevan Please don’t think I didn’t appreciate this video-it was very helpful in providing pros and cons between the two brands. Appreciated your thoughts. Where we’re coming from: my husband and I are considering switching from Pleasureway (another well built RV built on a Mercedes platform) that has similar pros to Grech, but a HUGE price discrepancy. I’d love to see a comparison between those two brands.
@@howwevan Airstream added Teronite Grey for 2024 AWD models so it is good to have these two competitive models so that both can get better over time and learn from each other. I talked to Grech Sales about their interior layout and ability for side seats to sit, bigger refrigerator, coat closet and pantry but they were not receptive and were just defending the current layout which we know does have little bigger bath but lot of wasted space for small time I spend. Hopefully, someone better at Grech would read this comment and improve the interior layout. I love Grech so don't get me wrong but they need to improve in certain areas specially interior layout.
I’m sorry to hear about your airstream. We were fortunate to have had a good one come off the line but I understand how frustrating it can be when something needs to get fixed and the aggravation is made worse when customer service is bad. I’m not sure where you are located but the Airstream dealer in Santa Barbara was very helpful in servicing ours. Hopefully once the issues get resolved you can forget the headaches and enjoy your rig and van life! Good luck!
Yes Grech camper vans are produced in Mexico but they are headquartered in Riverside, CA and Greches can be repaired or have warranty work completed there as well. Thanks for watching!
Ugh, I don’t like that counter overlap. You could’ve and should’ve been able to use that as an additional set and it seems awkward. That was a bad design and a waste of a usable space.
I am actually considering a Grech right this minute. Top notch company that stands behind their product. Most RV manufacturers are a total SHITSHOW!! Thank you again for the review.
The Grech Strata and Terreno both have macerators. We had a macerator and now we don’t and we are OK. Wade actually prefers without a macerator he believes as there is less to fail, it’s faster, and a bit easier to use. But we understand wanting/needing a macerator!
What was the difference underneath?
We looked at both the Interested and the Grech at the Hershey Show and although there are some nice creature comforts in the Interstate, the build quality is much better on the Grech.

Great picture comparisons.
Wade worked hard on the pictures. Appreciate you taking time to comment on that! I thought the photos really helped demonstrate the similarities and differences in each camper van.
You two are adorable and enjoying watching you! Thank you for this video❤
Thank you very much! Appreciate the comment and you watching! Safe travels!
Love your Grech, love you two's energy, a great match all around!! ❤
Thank you very much for your comment! You put a smile on my face! 😊
Agree!
Really liked side by side comparison in table format
So glad it was helpful! We pulled some of the information together when we were making are decision and thought it could help others! Thanks again for your very thorough list! It is fantastic!
@@howwevan Something I noticed and I think Grech must fix it that there is no backseat headrest in Turismo and I think they used the pic from Terreno. We should point out this inaccuracy and folks here can view it well. I did ask my dealership and gave this feedback as well to somehow accommodate the head backrest for the future.
@@howwevan Yes your table was super helpful and your notes will help so many future buyers as well.
Loved your video! Great comparison with the two models. I also just found out about Grech. I have to do some more research on them here in the Chicago area to see if it will be easy to get any work done on it if needed. Thanks again!
Awesome! Thank you! We did a bunch of research too. We still enjoy going to look at different models. Good luck and have fun.
Great Video!
Glad it was helpful! Safe travels.
I agree that those two items could and should be improved in the cab area. Thanks for watching our videos! Appreciate your comments. Safe travels!
the bath window in the Gretch is very nice. since a large percentage motorhomes are resold within 5 years Id be curious as to how much value each will retain for resale.
That will be interesting! Hopefully we’ll still be loving ours in 5 years!
Thanks for watching!
We did a packing video of everything in our van if you are interested:

Thanks so much for watching! Safe travels!
Great video explaining your camper van journey. It’s really hard going through that process. Grech is a great brand.
Thank you! Appreciate your comment. Looking forward to watching another one of your videos @charliegraceadventures!
Check out our packing video where I show how much we can get in the fridge/freezer: How We Pack {EVERYTHING} In Our Class B:

Thanks for watching!
@@howwevan , a fridge packing video? What a great idea. 👍👏
Which is better in the cold weather?
They both performed well. We have had the Grech longer and it has done great. The underside of Grech is better protected but they both have tank heaters and neither are all season RVs. Thanks for watching and for your question! Safe travels!
What would be the best all season ban?
Sorry can’t answer that … only experience with these two camper vans.
What’s the rationale of adding boxes to the back instead of getting a longer model with storage behind the couch? Maneuverability and easier to park?
Great question. We feel that given the boxes only add about 15 inches to the back, our camper van is still very easy to drive and park. Plus, I prefer the “outdoor stuff” to stay outside the rig. Thanks for your comment!
Did you look at the Midwest/American coach too.
Will do! Thanks!
Thank you for the video. Question: Could you provide the CCC (Cargo Carry Capacity) that is shown on the driver's side door jamb of the Grech? The same request to anyone else on here who owns a Grech including the Terreno and Strada. Thank you.

How long dose your solar last?
We haven’t had a good chance to test it yet as we only purchased our Turismo last October and one of our first big trips was in January, so it wasn’t great weather to test the solar (plus, we drove every day so the batteries stayed fully charged due to the second alternator). My guess is the solar might support the basic lights and refrigerator for an extended time if your staying somewhere sunny. But as soon as you start running the AC your going to want to plug in to shore power or drive a bit to top off the batteries. But if we ever get a chance to do a true test of the solar, we’ll be sure to make another video and share the results.
Hi where did you buy your wooden floor in your bathroom?
Hi. The one we currently use in our Grech, we purchased on Amazon. Now Wade had to cut it to size. Here is a link to the mat: howwevan.com/item?id=56&a=Wooden+Bath+Mat
If you want the mat we purchased for the airstream, it was purchased online at airstreamsupplycompany.com.
How does the Gretch compare to Unity Leisure travel van? Very interested to know your comparison thoughts???😀
Hello … We’re not familiar with the Unity Leisure van so can’t compare them. Sorry about that! Good luck researching and safe travels!
Good luck!
Wanted to let you know that Grech has a new air conditioner in their new models that are very quiet. Retrofits will be possible.
Grech Pros
=========
1. Color - Tenorite color is nice
2. Exterior - Wide Chrome band looks nice
3. Concealed Stainless steel Utility Center.
4. Bath Window gives extra room feeling
5. Combo Microwave/Convection/Air Fryer
6. Under the chassis stainless steel
7. Firefly system
8. Porcelain Toilet
9. Big deep sink
10. Lagun table mount near door allows outside use
11. Better rim and tires
12. Blue Accent Lighting
13. Fiberglass bath door along with mirror
Grech Cons
==========
1. No side seating on the back due to the bigger counter overhang and little extra bath and leaving unused space behind the driver. Two cooktops in the Ion model are nice but not required compared to the side seating space in the rear.
2. No macerator
3. Build quality concerns: Several Roof Leaks and Side Sliding Door issue reports.
4. No Coat Closet and pull-out pantry
5. Microwave is on the bottom/lower side (not good to get on knees and at 60 mph) and not top open for that location
6. Small Counter overhang in kitchen blocking the open view
7. No Separate Kitchen Screen
8. Loud Dometic A/C without heat strip
9. No Backsplash and Ceiling aluminum finish
10. No built-in shampoo, conditioner, or body wash station
11. Front cabin shades don’t stick properly
12. No solar ports
13. No lighter interior color options
14. Smart electric connector not present
15. No large Dealer network
Happy to help. Good luck researching. You can’t make a bad decision! Let us know what you decide. Thanks for watching!
I have heard about how loud thre Grech a/c is. Also as an older person concernrd about dumping without mascerator.
Is Grech hard to find service on the road?
Knock on wood … we haven’t had to find out. We do have the extended warranty to help should we need it. Also Grech is pretty good answering questions and troubleshooting should you need it. Plus the Facebook group has very knowledgeable and experienced folks who also provide suggestions and help. Thanks for watching!
I’m actually leaning towards the airstream 24-GT E-1
That is a beautiful van! I’m sure you will enjoy it. Thanks for your comment and for watching! Safe travels.
Good luck!
Thank you! Been great so far. Thanks for watching and travel safe.
Appreciate your kind comments.
Have you had any issues with the Mercedes chassis or motor on either units?
We had two issues in our grech on the Mercedes side which was
1) our air conditioner … first the heater stopped working and we thought Mercedes fixed it but then the air conditioner kept making a clicking noise, blow hot air and then go back to cool. All fixed now and both issues were covered under warranty.
2) the door was hard to shut. It is manual door. And they fixed it but that wasn’t under warranty.
Thanks for the question. Appreciate you watching!
Where to buy the grech in canada?
Just call up GrechRV (headquartered in Riverside CA). They’ll be able to quickly tell you where to go! Tell them HowWeVan sent you! Thanks for your question and for watching!
Current AS production has a Firefly system.
Thanks for us letting us know Airstream upgrade from CZone to Firefly. That’s a great upgrade.
What’s the difference underneath the vans?
So we can’t speak to the Airstream underneath as we don’t remember it so can’t make a comparison. @wolfgangkruger1725 says the underside of the Grech has superior construction and mentions there are videos on GrechRV factory construction process. Hope that helps! Thanks for your question!
Excellent review
Glad you liked it! Appreciate your comment.

Ps. The historic city of old Quebec is a must for your next trip.😉

The Blu-ray DVD system I need with the Gretch.
Because you guys are funny 😂 but great job
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching and safe travels!
Truismo looks much better than the Interstate and exterior color options you can get with Grech are better in my opinion.
Good point! I do like our Tenorite Grey color as well as the stealth chrome band that hides some of the RV tell tale signs. Appreciate you watching.
Yes we will see. Safe travels.
Interstate I-19 is the only interstate in the United States in kilometers from Tucson to Nogales.
Didn’t know that interesting fact. Thanks for sharing and for watching!
You sure did do the right thing. Airstreams have been having a lot of trouble. The Grech NOT
Hopefully Airstream will get better because they have a great product! We are happy with our Grech.
11:43 I own a brand new airstream. I had nothing but trouble.
It is overpriced for quality . Customer service is horrible.
Good luck!
Incorrect info. Grech is build in Mexico not CA.
Agree! Not my favorite feature either! Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Grech looks like it just took the Airstream style, and made small changes.
Thanks for reaching out. I think that might be what Grech did too. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I am actually considering a Grech right this minute. Top notch company that stands behind their product. Most RV manufacturers are a total SHITSHOW!!
Thank you again for the review.
Glad the video was helpful. Let us know what you end up with. Good luck!👍🏻
Airstream People: Traitor! (in my Russell Crowe gladiator voice) 😂😂😂
Are you not ENTERTAINED!!!
There are too many different options you can get, so they aren't both the same
Never said they were the same … just explaining why we switched.
UNLESS YOU HAVE THE EXACT SAME THING ON BOTH VEHICLES, YOU CANNOT SAY YOU ARE EVEN COMPARING THEM...
We can only compare what we owned and had experience with.
9 gallons or 13 gallons is a joke
All depends what you are use to. Works for us. Safe travels!
Their both over price vans just a little different lipstick in each one lol
Thank you for your comment. Agree the vans are very similar. We find everything to be quite overpriced these days.

Wish the Grech had a macerator… I hate the gravity systems.
The Grech Strata and Terreno both have macerators. We had a macerator and now we don’t and we are OK. Wade actually prefers without a macerator he believes as there is less to fail, it’s faster, and a bit easier to use. But we understand wanting/needing a macerator!
