Truly a bright shooting star. She had the surgery, she endured the chemotherapy, she was in remission for a very short while and then the disease returned with a vengeance. Such a cruel loss. I watched the wedding video with a great feeling of sadness. She had physical, vocal and spiritual beauty. There was a family that stood by her, and a fiance/husband. How devastated they must feel.
I get the feeling that Vlastimil knew even at the time of the mastectomy that the cancer had metastasized, and that he knew that it was likely to return quickly. Hence the rushed wedding.
I was watching this performance just yesterday.... absolutely stunning, powerful and full of such emotion. This world has lost a shining star who was destined for all the great operatic rolls but was sadly robbed of the chance of singing them 💔

I have been following Patricia for 10yrs now after first finding her by chance on UA-cam she was like a human nightingale to my ears it was always a real pleasure searching for hours for anything new of her on UA-cam even now it can be a bit of a mission to find some of the videos of her that aren’t well viewed R.I.P Patricia you were the real deal ❤😢

Patricia had such an incredibly beautiful voice, and in this performance, you could see how her voice had matured from the performances of her teenage years, which were excellent of course, but she was just coming into her own as a world-renowned opera singer when she was tragically taken from us and from her husband and family. Life can be so incredibly unfair. I love your analyses of her performances William. Thank you.
You are correct in everything you say, including your description of her being a lovely person. Her teacher once described her as being "very kind, very lovable and she's very humble'. I was lucky enough to meet her after a performance she gave in 2019 and she struck me then as almost supernaturally lovely.

The first time we heard Patricia in the Quando M'en vo was at her famous Vienna Style Holiday concert when she was 17, and already she was marvelous. But with the added power in deep chest singing, this one is absolutely memorable. Musetta would have been another great role for Patricia. And a word also for the originality and creativity of the Czech people. Who else would have thoguht to organise a concert for television at gate no 1 of a shut down airport during the pandemeic. And to you, William, I recommend you look for the absolutely outstanding performance by Patricia of the Quel Guardo, Il Cavalier in another concert in an unheated church in early spring, when Patricia is singing wearing a beautiful winter coat. She is accompanied by a piano only, but she produces all of the music. Unforgettable. That was during the pandemeic as well.
I dearly love Patricia's magnificent voice, and I am overwhelmed with grief at losing her. I appreciate the Bangkok Voice Coach for sharing this beautiful piece, too. I only wish that he wouldn't make his own comments while Patricia is singing. I found that distracting.

Nanette, I can’t bring myself to watch the wedding videos or the ones of her treatment. I will at some point but it’s too sad.
