In my neighborhood we have many avocado trees, Not sure what the environmental concern is. Once established that provide shade nesting spots for birds and are pretty drought tolerant. I know my neighbor watered hers maybe once a year in late summer. I do not know about cutting down other trees. That could e the problem. Solution is to buy California avocados.

Huge swathes of forest were being cleared for the avocado trees. Depleting other crops in an effort to irrigate them. In my neighborhood we have many avocado trees, Not sure what the environmental concern is. Once established that provide shade nesting spots for birds and are pretty drought tolerant. I know my neighbor watered hers maybe once a year in late summer. I do not know about cutting down other trees. That could e the problem. Solution is to buy California avocados.
