  • Today it's time to work on my 2007 Honda CBR600rr! Today's video goes over some general maintenance on my 2007 Honda CBR600rr. The first replacement is on the rear brake pads. These are most likely the originals and have lasted about 22k miles, but were getting very close to needing to be replaced. The uninstall and install took less than 5 minutes, very straight forward and easy to do. Next up I needed to replace the air filter. When I first bought the bike I had done this process to check the filter and it didn't really look like it needed to be changed, so I cleaned it out and left it in. After 3 years of owning the bike, I figured it was time for a new one. This is a bit harder to get to as you have to take most of the pieces around the gas tank off or loosen the bolts to pop off the gas tank cover. Other than that, it's just time consuming to go through, but easy overall.
    Last up was a fresh oil change for this years riding season! Again this is very simple to do for a bike!

    This video reminds me how nice it is to have a naked bike. Dealing with plastic I'm always worried I'm gonna break some little tab or something.
    Good video!

    Hey mate, just a question.
    My bike, cbr 600 rr 2004, is lately stalling in neutral at stops even clutched in and also while riding will lose power for a second or two or will jerk forward sometimes as I deccelerate.
    Do you have any idea what the issue might be?
    Thanks

    Once you remove everything to get to the air filter,can I get an easy access to the spark plugs from the top?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed

      That's a good question, I watch the video again and couldn't see from any angels. I wasn't looking for that when I did this so I can't remember, it would probably help though to get all that out of the way!

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Місяць тому

      Air filter can only go in one way. And the oil filter gets screwed in. Don't think you can mess it up ;)

    its awkward, but I put in 3 liters, which is basically 3 quarts, and its still show low oil. well first I put in 2.8 liters, idled for 3 mins, then let it sit for 5 mins and it still shows low. I'll check it later, wonder what the issue is. I can add more, just curious why its still showing low.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Рік тому +1

      You have to account for oil going to the oil filter as well, not a lot of course, but as long as the oil window is full after it cools down, that’s all you need to look for.

  • @BOMBON187

    Tin foil works better for doing the oil filter. No chance of melting. Shape it to direct oil

      Lol why do you think that? It’s in correctly.

    • @chrisdavies1712
      @chrisdavies1712 Рік тому +2

      If you look at the video the coloured side of the filter looks as if it’s pointing to the rear , i may be wrong as its only a quick shot .
      Also when doing an oil change you should warm the engine so the oil drains better , not a good idea to put plastic wrapping around hot pipes , use foil instead .
      Im not knocking ur videos just trying to help ,? Nice bike 👍🏼

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Рік тому

      @@chrisdavies1712 It was definitely in correct! And I had the bike warmed up! Always do that! And the plastic wrap I use has never been an issue, it’s not not the actual clear plastic, it’s much more durable! This isn’t the first time I’ve done it, just the first video on it! I have to use the wrap so that the oil doesn’t cover the entire exhaust piping. Kind of a bad design but that keeps the oil off! I’ve had some touch the pipes and it burns real bad!
