- Diana Ross perfomed at the Coconut Grove in LA from July 30 to August 13 DURING her debut tour, The Diana Ross Show. This is an ULTRA RARE track from her unreleased live album from 1970 titled "Live at the Grove". This is a cover version of "Is That All There Is?" by Peggy Lee who released this song in 1969.

This is a stellar performance by Diana Ross. She works the magic and mood for this classic song.
I was 25 in 1970. I was there ! I even got an autographed picture from Diana backstage ! I still have it. What a night. It was her first solo performance. She was magnetic. What a night !
Never forgot the advertisement for this Premier Engagement. "GET READY L.A. DIANA ROSS IS COMING TO THE COCANUT GROVE.
I've been listening to different versions of this song lately (wonder why.) Love Miss Ross's twists on the "story" parts!
Love her speaking voice! Great performance!
The rope broke... Hah hah hah. This chanteuse is sure taken by this song. Miss Diana wonderfully takes this episode down the fun house road. Thank you.
OMG i just saw this - if that live album were ever released it would set new sales records, her timing impeccable she is hysterical!
This is AMAZING! Omg. The greatest of all time. Listen to that VOICE!!!
Best version
This is an amazing and funny cover. My favorite part is the wedding night 😂
One can clearly vision "Super Star" just from listening to Diana's sultry voice! That woman knew how to please a crowd! She was beautiful and smart, and that's why she's the most successful out of all the "Supremes"! Diana Ross was born with that "IT" factor, just like Eartha Kitt, and everybody not born with that! Only a select few, and Diana was definitely one of them!
Now that's honest God's truth and she learned some from Eartha Kitt and Rita Hayworth she said
Love the piano
This old-man was actually there in 1970 when Diana Ross performed her first solo-shows. (Actually, the first was at the Fountainbleau in Miami). We saw this Coconut Grove show 3-times! She was amazing and dazzling in her Bob Mackie designs. And, I had also been at DRS's final show at The Frontier in January of 1970! Thanks for the posting these great memories!
brandx01 I would love to hear more from you about this show and the DRATS' farewell show!
Lots of amazing shows and incredible memories. I go even back further to the Hollywood Bowl 1967 appearance...I was there too!! (I was 16-years old!) Vegas was so bitter-sweet. It was so amazing to see them perform (it always was) but so sad that it was their very last show together. The Coconut Grove was pure joy! Diana was...DIANA ROSS in all her Bob Mackie-glory!!!
Me too ! I lived in Miami Beach !
Diana's first solo live performance actually was at The Carousel in Framingham, Massachusetts, just several weeks after her final Supremes January 1970 Frontier show. Must have been the testing of the waters of her solo show for those upcoming first big nightclub debuts as a single. :)
@@italoman9 How was her show? Is that the town with the famous steak house?

@@DianaRossFanClub Can I buy a copy from you?
Anyone knows wtf GSKD mean ?
Interesting take - not sure about the jokes - but it’s Her take. It’s at the Grove in 1970 - so…
It is a good song. Diana Ross has a good take on this one. Why not add a little humor?
A sparkling American Flag made outta her grandmother and 2 innocent bystanders. 2 innocent bystanders. 2 innocent bystanders. 2 innocent bystanders. Ahh Haha Haha haha . Laugh track thank you.
She's taken liberties with the song. I guess that's why Lieber and Stoller did NOT license this version. Ross took out all the subtlety of the song and turned it into Julia Sugarbaker's (DESIGNING WOMEN) dressing down of her sister's Miss Georgia competitor.
Oh please. Shut up
I guess this why I never desired to see Ms Ross in concert.
No. You have no taste. That’s why
Nope, not buying this version. Cant compare to Peggy Lee.
@Phyllis Dale Who gives a fuck what you think? This is for Diana's fans....go fuck off and listen to Peggy whatever-her-name-is. Only old people know who she is: clearly you're an old codger
@@jonsa270 who gives a fuck what you think? WHo cares if it's for Diana's fans! Clearly an INFERIOR version! Clearly you're a just a newcomer.
@@CDGalore that's quite rude as peggy is the one who wrote the song. In fact it seems diana and her were friends.
@@jonsa270 so much stupid in so few words. Well done.
@@alternateuniverse4412 And well done, you! You managed it in even less!
I love this version. I’m so glad she mocked the song because the original is truly awful, depressing and down-right evil.
Why on earth is this album unreleased? OMG
