Has anyone actually looked to see if their game is using the amount of Ram they set? I had to do about 3 more things than any of these guides suggest to get it to work. I added -Xms 4096m to EVERY file that also has a -Xmx in it. I also have to run the Bat file as ADMINISTRATOR (64bit one) to play the game. Maybe a few other changes
so i just add the "Xms ___" to the .bat and .json file and then set the startup compatibility to administrator? and does that resolve stutter? and do i add the "Xms" file before the "Xmx" command?
You shouldn't add anything at all, just change what is there. If it only has Xmx (MAX) then change that. If it has Xms (MIN) you can leave it alone or have it match the max. You can see at the top of the console log if the Java container is launching with the appropriate parameters.
The controller functionality isn't dependent on a certain RAM setting. Do you have enough RAM for the amount you added? Maybe use 6 GB for the game if you are on a 8 GB computer.
You can open up the Notepad first -> Click Open -> Navigate to JSON file and open it. You could download Notepad++ to get it to appear when you right-click the JSON files. You can click "Edit" or "More Options" when you right click it. There are a few ways to get it done.
This does not mess with the in game settings. I would recommend playing the game on windowed mode anyway for a smoother experience, especially on a modded server. Change the settings in game to full screen and just restart the client.
Yes it is, since the programming itself knows how to recognize "g" it would be safer to use that since less bits are communicated, even though it is virtually meaningless lol. but yes, you are safe to use (1024 * number of gigs you would like to allocate)m
Don't click open on the batch file. You will need to open your notepad first, then open the batch file through that if you cannot figure out how to open it from the right-click menu.
Appriciate it, thanks man!
This helped thanks appreciate it 👍🏻
anytime, reach out if you need any help.

for some reason, the edit button doesn't show up for me whenever i click show more options. im on windows 11 btw
Did you try clicking more options on the right-click menu?
You could also download Notepad++ and always get access to an Open With... option.

Why do i only have one line where it says xmx in the batch i dont have 2
I have noticed that as well. As long as you are changing the Xmx (MAX) then it should be good to go. I did read your later comment.
Did this game loads faster but still stutters and now my controller doesnt work

My ProjectZomboid64 file where youre says -xmx8, says -Xmx3072m...
Yes, I changed mine from -Xmx3072m to -Xmx8g in this video. I use 16g personally.
How many ram does your desktop has? Is it okay to use 16gb on a 16gb ram desktop?@@p0mp0us
Won’t let the game go full screen after doing this
