First strike is a good rune to take as Lux deals most of her damage if she wants within 3 seconds meaning you can get gold with the rune and therefore more items earlier. Secondly it scales well as the rune itself enables you to deal 7% more damage which is solid. Yozu was speaking about dark harvest, and other people take comet, these will ultimately deal more damage total but FS gives gold which for higher level gameplay where farming kills are harder and games that are shorter means thus rune provides more consistency, but can still enable you to do that bit extra damage due to the 7% (which is dealt in true damage too I believe which is very valuable).
