Please get some consultation from an experienced boat builder. The design, as it currently stands, will not be stable. The distribution of weight (such as hot tubs) needs to be incorporated only where hydrodynamics and the equalisation of buoyancy permit it.

Chris, This type of build has been on my mind for a few years now. I think it's going to be great. although watching your first video on getting started I have a couple of observations I would like to point out. First. the L brackets you pointed out offer more than just a stabilizer when at anchor. They offer rigidity to the length of the toon. I think you should consider extending this across your weld several feet in both directions to reinforce your butt joint. Relying on your weld at midpoint of your PB (Party Barge) will be an opportunity for a failure. Also, you should consider running calculations on your displacement for the toons. Even though you offer four of them for floatation mostly at the rear, your design is going to allow for a great deal of weight (especially when loaded). I noticed you have what appear to be twin mercs in their crate. (Probably in excess of 200hp). A lot of motor for a PB (Remember your building a tooner not a tunnel hull) I get it, it's fun to go fast but under those strains and stresses you want to be safe first. The hot tub idea again is fun, but it's in the front of your design. too much weight. (Figure this. water is 8.33Lbs per gal. a regular hot tub will hold approximately 300 to 350 gallons. 8.33 X 350 = 2,915Lbs in the front of your design. don't know that one. what about holding tanks, Water, fuel, black water... where are they going to be located, underneath I assume. need space for them. Helm where is your helm station? this can be something simple, but you still need a captain's chair. (Think Fly by wire for everything) And lastly, remember this needs to be insured, your design will need to be approved by an overseeing authority the USCG, country / state marine enforcement ect.
"they accidentally sent us 6 pontoons, so they offered us a discount on the wrong 2 to avoid shipping them back" .. no, they made extra money by pawning off unwanted junk to someone who was already making an order. well played pontoon company

Something you might want to think about is adding a convertible top to the top-level so that way you can have some shade if you need it or no. Shade if you don't for say the weather changes suddenly. You can have a little bit of protection for your guests. You can also do some extensions from the very front of the boat to the very front of the second level to give it that structure. You might need.
if you want a lot of inspiration for how the arches and exterior look, look at benningtons. they look stunning, and they also have inboard pontoons so that can give u inspiration for the back. also, houseboats are another big inspiration for how you can build the layout and everything, just make it open instead of enclosed. plenty on the rivers, but the ocean is going to suckkkkkk for pontoons. i know from experience.

100% Zach is a good guy and knows his stuff, and maybe able to give some help
Chris,
This type of build has been on my mind for a few years now.
(Think Fly by wire for everything)
And lastly, remember this needs to be insured, your design will need to be approved by an overseeing authority the USCG, country / state marine enforcement ect.
"they accidentally sent us 6 pontoons, so they offered us a discount on the wrong 2 to avoid shipping them back" .. no, they made extra money by pawning off unwanted junk to someone who was already making an order. well played pontoon company
I love seeing 3ds max in use for this project. I have been using max for 25 years and have designed countless projects, including a kayak design. Most of my work was architectural. Lately I have been using Unreal Engine to get decent rendering really quickly. Excited to see this project play out!!
24min of yapping, 2min of timelapse 'building'. maybe t is for talk would fit better
Facts. Dude loves hearing his own voice over producing content that ppl Wana watch.. ppl come to watch cool stuff being built not some over inflated ego flapping his gums about stuff he clearly doesn't know shit about.
Just finished building a 11' x 35' House boat with my father, and currently adding a v-hull between the 2 pantoons for better flotation. Lots of work but worth it.
B is for Boat! No Yacht just big boat. 🤙
OR B IS FOR BOAT BUILDERS
This is wild, good luck and looking forward to seeing it out on the water!
This ought to be something
Great project. For the kayak, if you don't want it to tip over, you might want to plan a pendulum on the side. Like they do in asia and in the pacific
Small shop = more focus, forces you to finish a build before starting another
It's going to be fun watching y'all make the pontoon. I hope y'all cap those two pontoon front fronts that ya cut off, and and put them infront of the hot tub for extra stability and balance. 👌👍
Am i the only one who imagined Oscar listening to this and slowly shaking his head?
Give some really good thought to covering your yacht when not in use or storage in the winter. I own a pontoon boat and can tell you without doubt the sun and rain will eat into our investment big time. Plus bare in Mind that pontoon boats become sail boats when the wind is high,
Just my 2 cents,
I have been a subscriber for years, Best of luck with your build and always more views and subs,
Ralph
Mark my words. This will not end well
So pumped for this!!! Bathroom is a great touch for a party pontoon. I agree with others it needs a full kitchen!
Attaching cones to rear of pontoons will double gas efficiency. Water vortices have to steal energy from somewhere
I would love to see more of the pontoon ya NC on the water. And I think you should sharply the fourth of july for your family when you get the boat done for the summer time
Portland : homemade pontoon boat capsized/sinked, 40 people dead.
You all are insane in the best kind of way. Glad to hear you're working with an engineer on this. Looking forward to seeing it in the water!
This is so cool!
Put a front swim platform too. That would be nice. Won’t have to go over the engines to get back in.
Not a scrap kayak. I would totally build a "drop tank" car out of it. Built like a dry lakes racer.
This is amazing!!! I am so excited to see you guys take on a new venture. Good luck and I can't wait to see what problems arise!
"The good news is the water we're taking on is slowing down the electrical fire"
Much more fun to watch a new build. The first was a good learning experience.
This will fail harder than the yacht. That's my bet. But should make for good entertainment.
Make sure to include a rail on the topside along the edge of the passage for the stairs. Im sure you’re planning on it, but the rendering didn’t have one. Makes me nervous! lol Can’t wait to see this come together.
Water sports with a 44' foot long double decker?
I'm very excited to see how this turns out.
B is for Bnot finishing projects
Thank you for all the hard work in making these excellent videos.
If your going to make a few of these then maybe you should make a Jig for the pontoon lengthening process.
I love the idea and I'm no engineer but I forsee lots of problems going forwards.
Good luck..
I feel the channel should change its name to O for oscar because he does everything while whats his face just sounds annoying on camera 90% of the time
My 4 yo son and I love watching the B is for Boat series. He is going to be pumped about this new project!
Let me tell you the biggest secret about Boating. Find yourself a bestfriend with a Boat. Thats all. Never buy yourself a boat, it will finacially kill you.
Is it just me, or does nothing get finished anymore?
Something you might want to think about is adding a convertible top to the top-level so that way you can have some shade if you need it or no. Shade if you don't for say the weather changes suddenly. You can have a little bit of protection for your guests. You can also do some extensions from the very front of the boat to the very front of the second level to give it that structure. You might need.
I just finished watching Titanic and I say no, don’t do this.
Yes on the kayak. Can't wait to set the yacht done.
You’re not building anything ground breaking there… AND IT’S NOT A YACHT!
Right! Congratulations you built a giant pontoon boat. With the current plans that thing is going to handle terribly.
if you want a lot of inspiration for how the arches and exterior look, look at benningtons. they look stunning, and they also have inboard pontoons so that can give u inspiration for the back. also, houseboats are another big inspiration for how you can build the layout and everything, just make it open instead of enclosed. plenty on the rivers, but the ocean is going to suckkkkkk for pontoons. i know from experience.
So your building a house boat lol
Hope you can get it out of the garage, it's huge. Cant wait to see this build.
Why not build a trailer..then you could have built the boat on top of it.
I still can't figure out if this guy is serious with all the stuff on this channel or if it's a really dry goof for comedy. 100% bad ideas executed with wild abandon. Could go either way I guess!
Finish something.. FFS.
