Replacing the stock rotten Onstar antenna with a new cover...hmmm...that sounded clearer in my head...lol...just watch the film, you'll get the idea :)
easy fix ! get a 9.5 outer shell - hard plastic - remove inners from old shark fin - very carefully trim about 2mm from old aerial - insert innards into 9.5 shell - epoxy in mount on boot or roof seal with silicone - did my 9.3 convertible four years ago - phone and sat nav works great 👍
I would add some extra adhesive between the new cover and the metal antenna underneath the old fin once removed. I purchased one of these and my first trip it fell off about 2 miles down the road. I will purchase another and add more adhesive. Lesson learned!
Just seen this video, can u tell me if the aerial was working fine or did u repair it the put cover on. Our radio is so temperamental, it works one day and not another, then it just keeps searching for stations. We gather it is the antenna because of lack of signal.
ive got the same problem you do man. Ordered the same antenna dummy from aliexpress and one question remained, how the f*ck do i change it. If that's all i have to do... its so god damn easy. Thank you! Btw, what kind of tape around it did you use?
replaced in my 2009 9-3 with oem saab 12762122.....58 eur + iva.....a whole other thing, believe me ... a car like that does not deserve Chinese junk for 2 bucks like that
Just finished rebuilding the cylinder head on my '04 9-3 Aero (US model designation). Went online to OnStar's site to activate it and their site indicates that OnStar service can only be activated on vehicles model year 2006 and later.

The antenna was work 100%...It was just a cosmetic fix.
