Finally a good review using the Tab S6, I was really tired of only seeing apps review in iPads, I'm also a Tab s6 user and this was really helpful for choosing a note taking app for my college clases 😁🙌🏻
Then why didn’t you make a review? Go ahead make one. The reason why there are more reviews for ipad is because android users including you are endlessly complaining without making review, then of course reviews for ipad dominated youtube
LauraEtarhienyo nope! I was saying instead of complaining just try make one. I am not an Android user lol but I’d really want to watch more productivity video of Android tablet like this instead of only technical reviews. If you watch ipad pro videos, they do drawing, explain how to make digital planners on the ipad, etc but the Android side really lacks!! Give a chance for non android users to know and to think of buying Android tablet! It is at least better than complaining/bitching about ipad pro videos! And i am not saying that everyone can make videos about Android tablets because there still are many ipad users who don’t make youtube videos!
@@RegularTeenager And I wish Goodnotes will be available in Android, since it's one of the highly anticipated stuff for Android users, when it comes to note taking.
Whoa! I've been waiting for the android version of GoodNotes for sooo long and earlier today I decided to look up for something at least close as great as GoodNotes and then I found Noteshelf. So I've been watching several reviews & comparisons on youtube and thissss one is the most detailed one! And since you explained it with a pleasing crispy voice I subscribed immediately 😂 Thaaaanks!
Noteshelf got to be the best Android note-taking app. But I also noticed that after writing a lot of ink on 1 page, it starts to get laggy, and the strokes won't appear as we want to anymore. There's also an issue when you export the note into pdf if you have used the resize option bcuz the change in size thickness is not reflected in the pdf. Anyway, love your video! Hope you will keep us updated on new features of Noteshelf!
Honestly the first day after buying the app it was really laggy (which is a comment I've heard other people mention) but the next day it wasn't anymore. Idk what may be causing this problem but I can see how having a lot of ink on one page can affect the performance of the app. Hopefully developers can do something to fix it. I'll keep you updated if there's any new features in the app. Thank you so much for the support:)!
Okay I know I just received a reply on another video but I'll say it again YOU ARE A LIFE SAVIOUR. I was regretting buying an android tablet only half an hour ago, but NOT ANYMORE!!😁 I hope your channel grows huge. Thanks again.
I've been using the tab S6 since its release and Noteshelf is clearly the best handwriting app (for students). I started with Nebo but quickly switched to Squid. And then, Noteshelf came up! It still needs a lot of improvements because it's still a bit buggy and slower than Squid but it's the best imo.
Yeah, I also went from Squid to Noteshelf and I completely loved it. Right now I'm using it with LectureNotes because I do agree that Noteshelf is still a little buggy. Thanks for your comment:)!
For me it lacks one essential feature: You can not simply use a screenshot of something in your Notes or a PDF inside your notes... For example: Math, you have an equation and would like to copy paste it into your Notebook from a pdf. Only way to do this is to create a screenshot, export it into a file, switch to your Note, import it as image. Why not simply allow to copy screenshots?!?
The part you missed is that, while Noteshelf doesn't yet sync between devices, it DOES autosync to any notebook you choose in Evernote. That, for me, is a huge time saver.
Thank you very much for pointing it out, I wasn't aware of it because I personally don't use Evernote but I have seen the features and it's probably going to be helpful for some people!!
@@RegularTeenager Sorry to be coming to this a bit late. I communicated with one of their developers and they have multi-device sync on their near-term roadmap. Seems the app really is farther ahead on Apple, but that's how it generally is... Thanks, though, for a really great review. I've only been using it for a couple of weeks - having used Nebo prior - and learned some things from your video. Cheers!
I've been looking for a good note taking app on android for days now, and your videos have helped a lot (currently using OneNote and will switch to Noteshelf if I get the code) Thanks a bunch man!
I didn't know this application was a paid one. It came pre-installed in Tab S7. I deleted it and stuck to Samsung Notes because I thought I wouldn't use it much. But, after watching your video I have decided to give it a try and guess what? I downloaded it again for free! Phew! I am enjoying the interface of this app.
Planning on getting a tab s6 or s7 for my second year of uni for note taking. I just need to try out writing on a screen in store to see how I like it. Thanks for a good review of an app👍
I really enjoyed your videos, I've been brainstorming on which app to make permanent one for notes taking, yesterday I came across your channel and watched all your reviews, they were very useful. Thank you I wish I could win this giveaway.
OMG just what I needed. I am thinking on buying it for my TAB 6 lite. Do you know if you can add a page anywhere on a notebook or between the pages of a pdf? like if you want to write more and need a page just add it like you can do on an iPad with Goodnotes. I am really missing that feature in Samsung Notes. Thank you!
Hey, I've been using OneNote and I faced a problem with that, the size of the files are so fucking big, so today I decided to switch into this app and squid if I want to write in a limitless page. How about the Samsung note taking app itself, which one do you prefer?
I use the Samsung notes app just to save some of my thoughts or random ideas that I have, you have some pen options and a really good writing experience but I don't see it as my note taking app of choice, I keep liking better noteshelf and squid
Hey... Ur reviews are the best here on android platform... Can i also know whether u can edit the text as in... Change font size... Change font .... Change font color ....
Yes, you can edit the font, font size, and color of typed text and you can change the color and size of your handwritten notes. And thank you very much for your support:)!
Loved the review. Great job. Redo option is available, long press the undo button to reveal the all so special redo button. In forum they mentioned hiding it for aesthetics....No complaints.
I’m planning on buying new notepad as my previous iPad got stole in the hospital while I’m doing my ward round. But it’s quite expensive for me to buys new iPad as a medical student. I’m searching for some affordable pad that can function as much as iPad especially in note taking. Thank you so much for your video. You help me decide which one is better🥰
Still I'm using one note. As i have addons on PC such as programmer addon which i use to put example of programming a language (html/python/c++ and more) then it will format it and put line code automatically like a real IDE . Also i like to sync and write on my S6 tab. And one feature is important to me is infinite 1 page. Just scroll down rather than flip pages
Hi! Your video is super interesting and what I was searching for. I'm looking forward to buying a tablet to take handwritten notes in school and you convinced me to buy Noteshelf :) I just have one question: while you are handwriting and you get to the right side of the screen, do you have to move the screen to the left with your fingers to keep writing? Thank you very much in advance! Greetings from Italy :)
Heeey, thank you very very much for your comment, I'm really glad to hear that the video is helpful! Regarding your question: yes, I have to move the screen with my fingers to keep writing, noteshelf hasn't yet implemented a "zoom box" for this but hopefully they do in a near update:)!
Oh.my.god. I am convinced to buy this now. Before this I'm an avid user of Samsung Notes. Now, I'm enlightened after watching your video🤣🤣 Thank you for the review!
I noticed all your other note taking apps; which one is your favorite? I have tried all the ones I see in your video but not extensively; I'm trying to find the best one for digital bullet journaling.
Great video - It would be interesting to compare this to the new Samsung Notes 4 which is available for the Tab S4... It's a big step forward. I like the fact that it automatically syncs across devices. Otherwise I think it is a close call with Noteshelf.
At 11:31 you mentioned "onenote can show what you are writing when the audio was being recorded". Like notability's voice recording? Are there other note taking apps on s6 that can show what you are writing when the audio was being recorded like notability? (in other words, sync the writing with the voice recording?) I think audionote can do it but that app hasn't been updated since 2014.
I'm not aware of any other app unfortunately, and even OneNote doesn't offer that functionality for the tab s6 (just for the desktop version). Really sad for android users...
@@RegularTeenager Thnxx! Yeah I found them after writing the comment hahah. I do have one more comment about the app which I'm missing... And that's the zoom and write option, the extra area you get where you can write. This way you can have an overview of the page and you don't have to scroll back and fort all the time =( I really hope they'll add this in the future! The apple version does have this feature... So unfair, apple already has multiple great note taking apps. Android is so behind in this!
I'm looking for a new notetaking app and 1 really important feature to me is being able to insert and write on pdfs inside a page, so i have plenty of space to make notes. Does this app allow you to do that? Thanks for the awesome review!
I'm looking for an S Note/Evernote replacement where the app should have easy organization, online sync support and can type and sketch on the same page easily/simultaneously. I also prefer paying once than monthly subscription do you have any suggestions? Love your in-depth analysis and practical real world use examples, I trust your reviews so much!
Thank you very much for your support, I truly appreciate it:)! Based on what I've tested, the first option that I think meets your requirements is OneNote and the best part is you don't have to pay for using it. However if you're using it on an android device you lose some of the functionalities (although from what you mentioned, it doesn't seem like that can affect you too much). My second option would be Noteshelf, it'd be first if you didn't mention "online sync support" because that's one of its major weaknesses. Other than that, it has a really good organization, you can type and sketch, although I cannot confirm if easily because I don't use it for typing, but I can tell you the option is available, and it's a one time payment app. Squid would go under Noteshelf bc it's a monthly subscription app and I personally like better the writing experience in Noteshelf. With squid you can backup and restore your notes more easily, but there's still no online sync (at least not that I know of). Finally, I can also recommend you Nebo but it's not my favorite one. It does meet your requirements: nice organization, online sync support (through publication of your notes), you can type and sketch: they offer really good features for converting your notes to typed text but sketching is a little different... and it's a one time payment. With this one, however, there's no pdf support (from what I remember), idk if that's important to you but I think that's something you should be aware of. I think it's hard recommending an app through a comment and just knowing a few requirements because these apps offer some nice functionalities but they also leave others behind with few or no availability. Hope my opinion was useful:)!
@@RegularTeenager you are a rockstar!!! I swear you are the best seriously!! I'm going to help spread your channel on my social media! I have watched all your videos and you are a great reviewer, on top of doing school work, I salute you! So Lecture notes is almost perfect, except online syncing is a deal breaker because notes need to be updated because I am in the field everyday in case my devices break or run out of battery. One note is perfect except the mobile version and lacking at the moment and the fact that you are called at 5GB online storage unless you pay for a monthly fee right? So that leaves me with Nebo? But I am curious why you don't really like it hahahah. I am also looking at FiiNote or Lecture Notes based on what people commented in your videos, but I am hesitant since you haven't reviewed it and no one has done a properly good review anywhere else on UA-cam . I'm sure people agree that we follow your advice very closely and what you say has that much of an impact😊
I've never heard the 5gb storage limit from OneNote but I might be unaware of it because of my school email, although I doubt it's a thing. Maybe I phrased my words wrong, I think Nebo is not what I'm looking for in a note taking app. I think it is designed for a group of people that want to have all their notes on text and they additionally offer the feature of sketches and writing freely, rather than being designed for writing notes with the spen (or any other stylus) and having the option of typing text. However, it is an incredible app if that's what you're looking for. Again, thank you very much for your comment, you definitely made a positive impact on the start of my day. New video is coming probably in the next 24 hrs and I'll start developing the next one asap. I hope you have a nice day:)!
I’m planning to buy a chromebook (not sure which yet) with touchscreen + stylus, do you think this is a good app for a sort of laptop or could I get better ones?
@@RegularTeenager One issue with OneNote is the limited capability of its tagging. I have OneNote on my Chromebook but seldom use it. I will try Noteshelf.
Thanks for the review. Is there an option to edit the notes taken on a Windows laptop too? I would like to write on a s6 lite tablet, but for studying the notes I still prefer my laptop.
I just bought this app , but a major problem is when I wanted to restore my backed up files from drive , I have to click one by one and also there are no option to restore the categories too, So after restoring I have to again arrange them in categories . It would be nice if they bring the restore option just like how squid does . One click and all the notes arranged in the same folders will be restored . What do you think of this ?
Totally agree. Once, I had to restore some notebooks and it bothered me a little, so I can imagine how beneficial it can be when trying to restore different categories! Hopefully they implement it soon:)!!
Bro which is the best note taking app while taking print out..Im consider to buy a tab S6.And I Will take almost all the prints of the notes i writes down..so which app will be better for printing pages in correct A4 Size
Hi, Could you tell me whether or not the annotation (handwriten) we make on pdfs and pictures are searchable? Because in Evernote only the texts on the pdfs and pictures are OCRed and are thus searchable not my handwritten annotations on them. I am thinking of an alternative because of this limitation with Evernote. Please Note: By handwritten annotations I mean two things 1). writing digitally on digital versions of texted documents such as pdfs and pictures and also refers to 2). directly writing on the printed document paper then scanned and uploaded to noteshelf. And whether handwritten annotations on documents can be converted to text? 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Helloo, yes you can search for anything you write digitally, no matter if it's on the pdfs or a regular note, I cannot confirm scanned documents because I've never done it but I'll try it in a moment and reply again with the answer to that one. And yes, you're ink input can be converted to text, that was one of the latest features they've added, you can convert it to text in 65 languages. Hope the video and this comment were useful, I'll reply to you later with the scanned document answer!
Hello, I just tried writing on a document and scanning it and it didn't work. I used my phone, not a scanner but I don't think that would've change the result
You could use a" PDF to JPG converter" app (the one I use litterally has that name) and then you add the images in whatever size you want. I do that a lot because I can add the pdf image on the left side of the page in the conrnell notes, and just write what the professor is saying beside it. It's also really usefull when the professor forgets to send the pdf before the class LOL
Do you enjoy your tab s6? Are you finding it hard to enjoy some apps? Did you ever you use an iPad? How does the experience compare? Appreciate your videos. It's tough finding good tab s6 reviews
I like your questions. I do enjoy it, I like a lot the experience while using it and I think it is a really powerful and capable device. I sometimes don't enjoy the experience in some apps because many of them are not optimized for the device and many others (like adobe rush) don't even exist for the tab s6. I have used an iPad Pro last year for a couple of minutes and I think the writing experience is better in there and there's a coherence between apps-software-hardware, but that's mainly because apps are design to be specifically on the iPad whereas on android the device has to adapt to the apps... thank you for your support and I hope my opinion was useful:)!
Thanks for the video! i'm sure it'll be really helpful for everyone, since most videos about taking digital notes and similar are for ipad.... I like your other reviews too, thanks!
After seeing all your reviews... I'm still not sure which note-taking app I want.. What do y'all recommend? I don't care about the price but about the quality.
I am still debating between the ipad and the new Samsung tablet ;-; they both look amazing, but I feel like ipad has more and better apps TAT.. and I love Samsung
Same i debated for over 6 month now what to buy and i just ordered tue s6 like 15 min ago. All my other devices are samsung, i always had Android so it just feels somehow more right. But the ios apps really do look so much better ugh
@@TheRikkuShak true, and it still feels that apple products are still kinda limiting in comparison to android. I am waiting for the s7 which supposed to come out next month. hopefully the price is good.
Hi! Thanks for a great video, it was very clear and informative. I have 1 question though, does it support hyperlinks on the pdf and can you add hyperlinks to a page? Thank you!
I use Noteshelf, and it supports hyperlinks on the pdfs, but i don't know if you can add them in this app (probably not). Maybe you can use bookmarks instead! or edit the pdfs before, importing them after you add the hyperlinks.
I just checked and it does support hyperlinks on pdfs and I think you can also add them to your pages, I can't figure out how to do it right now but there's an option that says "disable hyperlinks when writing" which makes me believe that you can also add them. I'm glad the video was helpful:)!
First of all, good video. I have to say that you can redo your "mistakes" by holding the "undo" button longer. Unfortunately, the feature is not perfect, because it has problems re-doing it to the exact form. Also, the text mark features are really bad. If you mark something and convert it in pdf, you can see that the lines are uneaven ... but still, this app is one of the best note taking app for Android devices.
Thank you so much for explaining the redo process, I was really missing it. I've seen what you mention (the app having really bad or buggy features) on the reviews in the playstore, hopefully developers can listen and release updates for more people to enjoy the app!
Hey, I’m considering getting the tab s6 this week. Which note taking apps would you suggest? You made a video on squid and note shelf and I’d like to know which of the two you liked the most for college. And also does the s pen have palm rejection? Please and thank you.
Personally the one I've been using and the one I've liked the most is Noteshelf. It has a better writing experience and I like a lot the user interface and the extra layer of organization (plus it is constantly being updated, although that also means some glitches now and then). The way palm rejection works on the tab s6 is that whenever the s pen is closed enough to the screen (you'll know by seeing a small blue pointer on the screen), it ignores any other input, so even if you want you cannot interact with the screen with your fingers. Hope everything goes well with the tablet, let me know if you have any other questions:)!
I really want to chance my s pen outfit Or, just chance my s pen to another pen (cuter or bigger...) But i dont know which pen I can use with my tab s6 Can you tell me something about that? Thank you so much
I know that the Tab S6 supports the s pen of other samsung tablets, but I am not aware if it also supports third-party stylus. In my opinion, I would try to find the s pen of the tab s6 lite. From what I've seen, the writing experience looks better than the one from the regular tab s6, but you lose the air gestures. It's up to you which one of them is more important. I don't know much about that specific topic but I hope it was useful:)!
right now, samsung notes have just updated and it's much much better than most of the apps in the play store and it can be compared to goodnotes and notability
I have one important question. On the ipads with the app noteability you can take a picture from a working Sheet and it converts it directly to write on. Does the Samsung note app also has this kind of feature where you can scan a sheet of paper directly in Samsung notes and than you can write on?
I'm not sure if you meant Noteshelf instead of Samsung Notes but the good thing is that both apps allow you to take a picture and use it as a background image to take your regular notes:)!
Your vid is really helpful and i'll cheer for your next video^^ But I'm a bit confused with the autoback up feature. So does that mean when i accidently delete the note which i have backed up in the google drive, i can restore the note back? I'm talking if i still do it in the same device tho. Can you please explain? Thanks!
Yes, you can do that. Once, i deleted my class notebook, and i just restored it from Google Drive (you have to log in through noteshelf to activate the backup option), i was so relieved!! There is also a "trash" category from where you can restore your files :)
Hi from Brazil! loved this video, congratulations! I just have some questions, when I import a PDF, can I delete or add some pages in the middle of it? And, if my pdf has links on it, does it work? Does the PDF appears on the inicial page as a notebook? Can I create "links" for some page just clicking somewhere? Thank you so much!
Hii, I'm glad you liked the video, thank you so much for supporting the content, here are the answers: with this app you are able to add or delete pages anywhere in the pdf, the links keep working in here and yes, your pdf appears as a notebook which you can add to any category/group you want. There's a tool that says "disable hyperlinks when writing" (or something like that, I'm not sure) so I think there's a way to "create" links, but tbh I have never used it or seen how it's done. Hope I answered your doubts, let me know if you have any other:)!
Hey nice Video Is there something for geometry? And how does it works in the Multitask Mode? Do I have to zoom to write easy or why do you do it all the time?
Thanks! Yeah, you do get shape assistance, not exactly geometric figures but everything you draw is converted into a shape. I consider that it is a similar experience when on multi-task mode but in a reduced space. Hahahaha Idk why I zoom every 2 seconds, but you don't need it to write easy
Hey man, good vid. I recently bought a Tab S6 and I was looking for some apps for note taking and PDF markup. I really liked Noteshelf but the way it reads PDFs and the "papers" it's kinda weird to me (zero definition at all and only up to 400% zoom). So I was thinking about using it for note taking and other app for PDF markup but I want your opinion. Do you still stick with Noteshelf or are you using other app like Squid or a combo of apps? If you have a great recomendation for both of my needs, it would be awesome.
Thank you very much for your comment:)! I have experienced what you're mentioning about pdfs on noteshelf. At the moment I've been using noteshelf and LectureNotes for taking notes and Xodo for annotating over pdfs because it handles them much better and the ui is designed for having several pdfs opened (completely free btw)
@@RegularTeenager thanks for the reply! I'm also using Xodo as well, it's the best that I found for PDF's. I saw your video of Lecture Notes but that UI scares me haha. Actually, do you know anything that can improve the definition of the templates in Noteshelf? I've imported one (in PDF format) but it still looks like that Noteshelf treats PDFs and templates as images, not vectors.
I've personally never experienced any problems with template pdfs. However, as you mentioned, what you're trying to change is how the app interprets pdfs and Noteshelf doesn't offer too much customization so I don't think that's possible
just a thing i discovered - if you dont want the whole pdf imported, you cen use clever select and have just a certain area cut out and saved on your screen so you can put it on noteshelf and even annotate it there
@@RegularTeenager thx you for the reply. It was actually my young nephew ( 7 years’s old) who will be using his android tablet for the first time. I’m wondering if noteshelf features is simple enough for the kid around his age?
Yeah, I actually consider noteshelf to have a minimalistic and simple UI that contributes to it not being too complex to use. You can of course first try the free version of Squid to see if you like what it offers:)!

Hello, excellent demonstration. I was wondering does the app have handwriting to text feature and is it any good?
Yeah it does and from my experience it has converted my handwriting pretty good. It supports a lot of languages, I've tried German, Spanish, and English and all of them work fine!
Hi, you already have a new suscriber :). Thanks for making this video, i was pretty stressed looking for a video who talks about an android taking notes app, and i finally found it, it could be pretty helpful for android users, you to upload more videos talking about tips of taking android notes for college and that kind of things related to gakaxy tab s6. Thanks, Greetings from 🇲🇽. Congrats!.❤️
Thank you very much for your comment and subscription I really appreciate it. I am glad you found my video useful and I'll surely take into consideration your video idea, I think people enjoyed the previous one I made for tips and tricks so you can expect me to post a similar one soon. Saludos:)!
Technically no, but I've seen that if I go to "my files" app and open a pdf with noteshelf, the pdf opens like I'm still using "my files" app and I can have the actual noteshelf app opened to view another notebook. Idk if I explained myself well but what I wanted to say is that there's a way of doing it with noteshelf but it is not actually a thing with all apps...
Does your handwriting remain round and smooth when exporting as PDF? Mine gets messed up! I actually love the app but being unable to export proper PDFs is a huge drawback. Am I the only one facing this issue?
I tried this app on my Tab S6 today but after some testing i requested an refund. The size of the lines/squares is kinda weird in relation to the screen size. Also there is more latency than with other apps like squid so my handwriting is scrawly and hard to read. I also don't like the file management so I will stick with Squid and OneNote in the future. However, thanks for the video :)
Yeah, I can agree with the size of the lines/squares, that is why I tend to use templates, because most apps have a weird size for them hahaha. I also had some latency the first time I used it (right after downloading it) but it went away the next day, is kinda weird to explain idk if it's the app trying to set up in the device or what but I can definitely understand what you mean. Squid and OneNote are also really good apps! Thank you so much for your comment:)!
Yes! You can use the shapes tool to draw completely straight highlights! Previously there were at least 2 updates per month but now I've seen they have been publishing less updates 1 at most per month and I think there has been months with no updates...
For the paper templates that you use for your notes, if you use the stock ones or use the ones download them from the "noteshelf club" some allow you to choose the paper size. On the other hand, if you decide to use one you've download from other site, the final size depends on the one of the template. Basically, it all comes down to the paper template you decide to use:)!
Is it possible to use Din 4 sized templates with "normal" checked spiral bounted notepads, so the checks are 0,5mm high and wide? Yes, its a wired question, but i want to use my favorite formats to write :D
I think the default templates are not that sophisticated but you can create/download your owns and import them to the app so you can use them on any of your notes:)!
@@RegularTeenager Thany you for the answer :) For the math class it would be very nice to work with this special template :D But, i think for Math i will use a normal notepad, specially for the system of equations or something like this :D
¿Is it possible to draw straight lines?, ¿Is there a ruler?, And last but not least, ¿Can you change the paper type whenever you want? ( Lines, squares, clear page...). Hope you can help me
Yeah, the shapes tool can help you draw straight lines (there isn't a ruler feature) and you can change the paper template whenever you want. from either the preselected ones or any custom template you've downloaded:)!
In my opinion: if you are able to go for the s7+ you should totally go for it. If you're debating between the s6 and s7, they have some differences and it really depends on your preferences, and finally I would see the s6 lite as the most inexpensive option that still has the essential features:)!
This review is so useful, thank you! You mentioned that the app updates regularly, does it now have a zoom box or zoom while you write feature (like can be found with Samsung notes)? Also do you have to pay again if you download it on a second devise?
It is because I live in Brazil so... When I make the dollar-real convertion( i don't know If this word ia correct... Sorry hahaha) the app becomes very expensive
They are both really good note taking apps, I personally prefer noteshelf because of the templates and the handwriting experience, but a great advantage of Squid is that you can use it partially for free with the essential features
Does this app not do the zoom box for handwriting like it does on Android? That's a bummer. I use Samsung Notes but I would have switched to this for the different options.... but I rely on that text box at the bottom to see the whole page while I'm writing.
Hello, good day, thank you for making this review. I have a question, does this works with my Tablet A7? I've noticed a lot of people are talking about S6 and i wasn't sure if this was going to work for me because i was planning on getting it :)
well maybe this is gonna sound strange but make a review about the old Samsung app (galaxy S note ) I still use it to this day even though I have to install it throw apk. why ? because I still did not find a better app 😅. it has such a freedom when it comes to customization almost anything, literally I can download any photo and use it as cover for any notebook or even a background for any note book and don't worry I can adjust this background transparency, then I can chose a templet(lines, notes templets...) on that specific background. I can categorize my notebooks in folders. and the pen types selection are almost exactly as the Samsung current note app🤣.I can do more there !!!. that old app is still way a better opting and I'm still using it since 2013 😅
Yeah, I've personally used the app to try it once or twice and some people have mentioned it in the comments. I'll definitely include it in a future video:)!!
Yersterday I bougth matepad pro, but sadly using m pencil is more umcomftable tham I thought. Because of latency and automaticly keyboard open because of Palm. So do you think this app can make it better? I really feel a certain regret to not chose an ipad. Also I would like to use Notion app for organise my note but its also not supported huawei device because of Google conflict. :(
Hey, sorry for taking so long to answer your concern. From what I know, the palm rejection comes from the device (for example with the tab s6 it is activated once the spen in close enough to the screen) and I don't know if the app can do anything to fix it. Also, I've recently heard about taskade which is somewhat similar to notion but simpler:)!
Hey! I just saw your video because I was wondering if i would buy an ipad or a samsung tablet. I think i'll buy the samsung one, but do you know if you buy the app on ios it will work on android to? Or should i purchase it in both devices? Thanks!!
@@barbarasepulvedagarcia9373 At the moment I think they are independent apps. What you can do is use one device to store the notes on a cloud service (like gdrive) and you can download and restore them on the other device! Hopefully, in the future, they offer a simpler way of synching them but for now, this is the only method I can think of
Went straight to this video after you replied my comment. Do you notice bugs whenever you have too many writings or attachment that either they go missing or you cant even swipe to the next page? This app is lovely but still very buggy!
The first day I installed the app I noticed it a lot, but it was only that day. However, I've been recently experiencing a little lag when writing after spending plenty of time on the app but it fixes if I close it and open it again. The buggy idea of the app seems to be a common thought for some users, I can't say it has affected me a lot but I have noticed it tho. Thanks for supporting the content:)!
Hi, I've used squid for the last two years (10€/year), finally today I discovered this app, and I'm thinking about a change, which app shoud I buy, which is better? noteshelf or nebo!? (sorry for my bad english..)
I hope the video was useful:)! If I had to choose between Nebo and Noteshelf I'd 100% go with noteshelf, unless you're trying to take typed notes (which is the strong area of Nebo)
Was there an update that changed this or is the text function still that limited? Because I think the app looks really cool but I really want to be able to type text using bullet points
Finally a good review using the Tab S6, I was really tired of only seeing apps review in iPads, I'm also a Tab s6 user and this was really helpful for choosing a note taking app for my college clases 😁🙌🏻
Yeah many note taking apps reviews are made in iPads, I'm glad you found my videos helpful:)!
@@RegularTeenager And I wish Goodnotes will be available in Android, since it's one of the highly anticipated stuff for Android users, when it comes to note taking.
i feel the same like seriosly 🙃
Hahaha thank you for your support:)!
Try squid
Hahahaha well, I'm very glad my videos were useful in that way:)! Thanks for the support, I truly appreciate it
But it's disturbing . As you can't lay your hand completely on screen
OH MY GOD SAME
Nivedita Same feelings here 👍
I've been using the tab S6 since its release and Noteshelf is clearly the best handwriting app (for students).
Thank you for going through the trouble of reviewing all these apps for android users!❤❤❤ You're helping a lot of us.❣❣❣
Thanks to you for showing your support, I truly appreciate it:)!
@@RegularTeenager Really nice content, you have one sub more right now! I find really useful your video thank you for your work.
***[CLOSED GIVEAWAY] Giveaway winners announced on my ig stories!!***
Let me know your thoughts about the app!
i totally mistook it to be the device .Lol
Cheers!
Finally!! Thanks man for making the review about Noteshelf.
A pleasure, hope it was useful:)!
When you hold down the undo button a little longer, a redo button will appear :)
Thank you a lot for explaining that, I really needed to know how to do that hahaha
Omg yess THANK YOU!!! I never knew the redo button is hidden within the undo button 😂❤
Thanks man
not very intuitive :-/
I've been looking for a good note taking app on android for days now, and your videos have helped a lot (currently using OneNote and will switch to Noteshelf if I get the code)
Thanks a bunch man!
I'm happy my content was helpful, thank you for your support:)!
All the videos are real good, make more on tab s6 . Give us something new about tab s6 like new app, best feature, hidden features, etc . Keep doing
Thank you so much for the ideas and support:)!
Planning on getting a tab s6 or s7 for my second year of uni for note taking. I just need to try out writing on a screen in store to see how I like it. Thanks for a good review of an app👍
A pleasure, thanks to you for the support:)!
I really enjoyed your videos, I've been brainstorming on which app to make permanent one for notes taking, yesterday I came across your channel and watched all your reviews, they were very useful. Thank you
I wish I could win this giveaway.
I'm glad that my videos were useful! Stay tuned for the result of the giveaway:)
We're making the same content and i really love how you review it! Keep it up!!
Thanks, you too:)!
Thank you!
Yes! You can add any amount of pages anywhere in your notes:)!
There is only one Problem.
You cant select the endless Mode for the Paper, so there is always that DIN A4 Format.
Totally agree. Hopefully they add this customization option in a future update:)!!
Its free on the tab s7+
Hey, I've been using OneNote and I faced a problem with that, the size of the files are so fucking big, so today I decided to switch into this app and squid if I want to write in a limitless page.
How about the Samsung note taking app itself, which one do you prefer?
I use the Samsung notes app just to save some of my thoughts or random ideas that I have, you have some pen options and a really good writing experience but I don't see it as my note taking app of choice, I keep liking better noteshelf and squid
1. 6.57 - you can actually redo them. Just press and hold the undo button and you will see the redo option.
Thank you very much for pointing it out:)!!
Thank you!
I literally uninstalled the app cuz I thought there was no redo button lol
Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment:)!
I love the way it lets me write(if that makes sense). Way smoother than samsung notes
Yes I agree.
Can't believe somebody stole your iPad🤦🏻♂️ I'm glad to be helpful in some way and thank you for your support:)!
Which one you choose?
I really like your videos, I was thinking on buying a tablet for notetaking when i go to university... Really enjoyed this video :D
Thanks a lot, I'm glad my videos are enjoyable:)!
You can actually redo your things!
Just hold the undo button!

Right now, Samsung Notes is the one I'm liking the most:)!
Great video - It would be interesting to compare this to the new Samsung Notes 4 which is available for the Tab S4... It's a big step forward. I like the fact that it automatically syncs across devices. Otherwise I think it is a close call with Noteshelf.
That's a great video idea!! Thanks for the suggestion:)!
Great Video! Very helpful :) can't wait for my tab s6 to arrive
Thank you very much, I'm glad it was helpful! Hope you enjoy the tab s6:)!
Samsung notes (the updated version) has that function.
Finally a non Ipad video! Where can you download the custom templates tho? Looks really handy!
Link's in the description, but you can check them out here: www.janicestudies.com/downloads
I totally agree, hopefully they add them soon!!
I'm looking for a new notetaking app and 1 really important feature to me is being able to insert and write on pdfs inside a page, so i have plenty of space to make notes. Does this app allow you to do that? Thanks for the awesome review!
Yes!! This app does allow that, I would recommend looking at Flexcil as I think it is a better investment:)!
@@RegularTeenager thank you will do!
so this is the currently best note taking app on the android, am i right?
In my opinion, it is!🔥
@@RegularTeenager tab s6 stress test coming up 😁
Is it free
@@RegularTeenager thank you for taking the time to reply my comments! I appreciate it very much!
I’m planning to buy a chromebook (not sure which yet) with touchscreen + stylus, do you think this is a good app for a sort of laptop or could I get better ones?
I consider if you have a laptop with stylus you should take advantage of the full version of OneNote!!
S7 tab seems to be good. You can use dex mode with a Bluetooth keyboard to make it laptop-like. Too good for note taking.
Thank you very much for your support:)! However, I'm not aware if there's a tool for what you're describing
@@RegularTeenager it would be possible if we send a feedback to developer , I just sent it via app.

@@RegularTeenager Ok thank you!

Really interesting question, I've never printed my notes but based on the exporting methods, I'd say either squid or noteshelf
Regular Teenager does it have a scale to draw lines
Thank you very much Teenager. It helps a lot, really!!🤗
I need to learn how you moved the s pen like that at 0:45😂
Hahaha it took me so long to learn it and now I can't stop doing it
I can imagine it haha
Are these templates/notebook covers free or we need to purchase them as well!
They are free:)!
Is there a chance to cut out part of a pdf page and include it in my handwritten page? Do you probably know that?
I don't think that's possible with noteshelf tools. You could probably screenshot the piece of the pdf and include it as an inage on your notes:)!
Thank you so much for your support. I'm glad they're helpful:)!
After seeing all your reviews... I'm still not sure which note-taking app I want.. What do y'all recommend? I don't care about the price but about the quality.

I am. Hopefully all the leaks are true and they release an amazing device!
Oh that's great! Thanks so much!
Hey, thanks for the great review! I have got the table s7 and I wonder why some features you showed are not available for the Tb S7?
Regular Teenager thank you so much. 😊
I really want to chance my s pen outfit
Or, just chance my s pen to another pen (cuter or bigger...)
But i dont know which pen I can use with my tab s6
Can you tell me something about that?
Thank you so much
I know that the Tab S6 supports the s pen of other samsung tablets, but I am not aware if it also supports third-party stylus. In my opinion, I would try to find the s pen of the tab s6 lite. From what I've seen, the writing experience looks better than the one from the regular tab s6, but you lose the air gestures. It's up to you which one of them is more important.
I don't know much about that specific topic but I hope it was useful:)!
I heard you can use wacom styluses (Brad colbow), other s pens and the steadtler noris digital which looks like a real pencil
right now, samsung notes have just updated and it's much much better than most of the apps in the play store and it can be compared to goodnotes and notability
Yessir, I have a review of it on my channel!
@@RegularTeenager just watched it, it was a great review, just as I expected! Thanks 😊
Such a great video!
Btw how's your experience with the spen?
It's been good but my hand some times hurts after using the tablet for long study sessions
Awesome vid. Do you know if you can change the margins on the paper? Apparently you can with the iPad, but I don't see the option on my tab 6.
I think atm there's not an option for it, maybe they implement it in the future:)!
All in all for the lenovo duet do you prefer Noteshelf or Squid? Personally its Noteshelf for because the organization folder.
Noteshelf is far better than squid. Squid is also good but noteshelf is better.
Yeah, you can restore it from your drive and, as Eva said, there's also a trash category which holds all the notes you have deleted
@@BooksFallen thank you so much!
@@RegularTeenager i see, thanks!^^
Note shelf or NEBO or squid??? Which one is the best handwriting experience??
@@RegularTeenager Thank you! It really helped :D
I just bought the app after watching this. Can you change paper sizes or is it just a4 or letter?
It's just the predefined size, but you can use templates if you want to work on different sizes and styles of pages
Hey nice Video
Is there something for geometry?
And how does it works in the Multitask Mode?
Do I have to zoom to write easy or why do you do it all the time?
Thanks! Yeah, you do get shape assistance, not exactly geometric figures but everything you draw is converted into a shape. I consider that it is a similar experience when on multi-task mode but in a reduced space. Hahahaha Idk why I zoom every 2 seconds, but you don't need it to write easy
@@RegularTeenager I mean something like a triangle ruler
Is there anything to TRY the app out?
Loons great but I miss the Feature Fromm Onenote with the cloud so I can Work on 2 Devices At the Same time.
No, there are no rules in this app unfortunately and there's also not a trial version or anything like that for you to try it
@@RegularTeenager rules?
However, as you mentioned, what you're trying to change is how the app interprets pdfs and Noteshelf doesn't offer too much customization so I don't think that's possible
just a thing i discovered - if you dont want the whole pdf imported, you cen use clever select and have just a certain area cut out and saved on your screen so you can put it on noteshelf and even annotate it there
Any advice on whether Squid or noteshelf is more preferable ? I’m thinking of buying one of them
In my personal experience, I've liked noteshelf's features better than the ones you can find using squid:)!
Saludos:)!
Hey! Does the android version has the Multitasking split function?. Were you can view multiple notebooks at once
Thanks in advance
Technically no, but I've seen that if I go to "my files" app and open a pdf with noteshelf, the pdf opens like I'm still using "my files" app and I can have the actual noteshelf app opened to view another notebook.
Idk if I explained myself well but what I wanted to say is that there's a way of doing it with noteshelf but it is not actually a thing with all apps...
Does your handwriting remain round and smooth when exporting as PDF? Mine gets messed up! I actually love the app but being unable to export proper PDFs is a huge drawback. Am I the only one facing this issue?
Omg you're right, I recently used it to send a class report and didn't even notice. That sucks... thank you for pointing it out!
@@RegularTeenager well it's good to know I'm not the only one then! Hope they can solve this in a near future... Keep up the good work, great reviews!
9:15 important fact for pharmacy or chemic student😄
you can choose any color you want for the highlighter as with the pen?
Indeed
Can you do perfectly straight highlighter strokes? And how often do updates for android come out?
Yes! You can use the shapes tool to draw completely straight highlights! Previously there were at least 2 updates per month but now I've seen they have been publishing less updates 1 at most per month and I think there has been months with no updates...
@@RegularTeenager thats so cool thank you very much!
is there a feature to adjust the page size to printable size like a4 or b5?
I have a tab A7, and the app doesn't have half of the features shown in this video. Like handwriting configuration .....
¿Is it possible to draw straight lines?, ¿Is there a ruler?, And last but not least, ¿Can you change the paper type whenever you want? ( Lines, squares, clear page...). Hope you can help me
You can change paper type.
Yeah, the shapes tool can help you draw straight lines (there isn't a ruler feature) and you can change the paper template whenever you want. from either the preselected ones or any custom template you've downloaded:)!
What would u recommend for note taking and notes for a student
S6, S6lite, S7 or S7 plus ?
Waiting for ur recommendation
In my opinion: if you are able to go for the s7+ you should totally go for it. If you're debating between the s6 and s7, they have some differences and it really depends on your preferences, and finally I would see the s6 lite as the most inexpensive option that still has the essential features:)!
@@RegularTeenager Thank you for your prompt response
The Samsung Tab S7/S7+ comes along with the Noteself app
This review is so useful, thank you! You mentioned that the app updates regularly, does it now have a zoom box or zoom while you write feature (like can be found with Samsung notes)? Also do you have to pay again if you download it on a second devise?
I think they added Zoom in and out using the stylus
What do you think about squid app for notetaking? Is Squid better than noteshelf?
Yes! The app should work similarly even on different devices. Probably the main difference you notice may be caused by the lack of spen support
@@RegularTeenager Thank you so much! 🥳
well maybe this is gonna sound strange but make a review about the old Samsung app (galaxy S note ) I still use it to this day even though I have to install it throw apk. why ? because I still did not find a better app 😅. it has such a freedom when it comes to customization almost anything, literally I can download any photo and use it as cover for any notebook or even a background for any note book and don't worry I can adjust this background transparency, then I can chose a templet(lines, notes templets...) on that specific background.
Do u have any link for the custom a4 white square template?
Not really, but you can find one that you like through google images:)!
Ok,thanks
Does the highlighter go over or under the handwriting?
Really good question that I forgot to mention. It goes under the handwriting and it goes darker if you use it on the same spot over and over
Could you make a Noteshelf vs. Onenote?
I Think These are the best notetaking apps....
Nice video idea!!
I Think onenote is better for just use a Notes app
But noteshelf is better for school or Collage because of the better handwriting
And also for the additional features, which is something OneNote lacks on android. Thank you very much for the idea:)!
And the Problem hat noteshelf is that they only accept ondrive cloud hat Apple... otherwize ist perfect
How much storage does one take after taking notes of 10 A4 size selected pages back to back?
I just tried creating 10 pages (from the templates on the app) and writing and highlighting on them and there was no change in my storage
Hey! I just saw your video because I was wondering if i would buy an ipad or a samsung tablet. I think i'll buy the samsung one, but do you know if you buy the app on ios it will work on android to? Or should i purchase it in both devices? Thanks!!
If I'm not wrong, they are completely independent apps so you'd have to buy it twice if you want to have them on both iOS and Android:)!
Regular Teenager Oh :( Thanks anyways!!!!
@@barbarasepulvedagarcia9373 A pleasure, stay tuned because you might be able to have a chance of getting the app for free through next week's video!!
Regular Teenager Okay, last question. If i buy the app on both devices, can i synchronized the account?
@@barbarasepulvedagarcia9373 At the moment I think they are independent apps. What you can do is use one device to store the notes on a cloud service (like gdrive) and you can download and restore them on the other device! Hopefully, in the future, they offer a simpler way of synching them but for now, this is the only method I can think of
Why my noteshelf cant download free template. Just blank white wen i try click the templates
Thank you for the quick reply!! I'm an engineer so i have to handwrite a lot!! I will try noteshelf!
Was there an update that changed this or is the text function still that limited? Because I think the app looks really cool but I really want to be able to type text using bullet points
There has been a lot of updates but unfortunately none that expand the features of the typed text tool
Okay, thank you for your answer. I guess I will have to use Samsung notes then
