Elver Galarga don’t like the harshness of the drive on it and the low end sounds disconnected from the top end to me. Some EQ would probably solve it easy but...
Its great that you used the same basslines as the previous one! I would listen to the previous one once in a while, just cause the basslines were so fukin lit!!
I'm supposed to like that Marleaux and that Fender but I really love that Ibanez. The other basses sound okay but that Ibanez just has a bit more beef to it
My main bass right now is an SR655 and it shreds basically any other bass I've played. My only gripe is that I haven't quite figured out how to get it to fill the musicman niche, but I'm not sure if that's me or the bass lol. The slim neck profile is addictive as well, I can't really stand the chunkier necks of P basses and the like anymore.
The Ibanez was perfect for distorted rock stuff. Marleaux was overall best balanced. Fender was solid. Wreck was beefy and unique. My favorite were Wreck and Marleaux. 👍 nice vid!
I really like the fact you used the same songs to demonstrate these as in the first they really display a full range of aspects in performance Excellent job Nathan
After years of owning and studying music, Im sorry but the Fender Jazz is a beautiful yet situational bass. That Wreck and even the Ibanez were the best sounding all around in my opinion.
@@mykemech i would rather say that, it fira everything but metal, its ratherly athe other way around. All the big rockstars however or all the big any genre bassist have always played on a fender, sounding Great. So i dont really see where this is coming from.
Linus Larsson ho i know it’s about people bitching on fender here and there but the thing is that fender is the main reason why we all play bass and not upright bass !
Agreed, even though it sounds bad compared to the other basses. And that's weird for me actually because headless basses usually they tend to sound punchier
@@steffomca762 well sometimes I get notifications, sometimes I don`t. Yes, Umansky and Spector 3 are awesome as well. PS 4 years, oh my! Felt like 1 haha
I used to own one of those Marleaux Consat Customs. Had the finest low B I've ever heard in 35 years of playing, and it's still a 34 scale bass. Way better than any 35/36/37 scale bass I've played or heard. Gerald Marleaux builds very special instruments.
This slap theme is amazing. I have even learnt it to play by myself. Enjoyed listening it again in this video. What about basses, my favorite is still Warwick. )))
I have an Ibanez SR755 (when it had the soapbars) and I dropped a Bart NTMB and CBC pups in it and it is - to this day - my favorite rock/metal bass tone. It sits beamed to hell, pickups held in with mismatched wood screws, missing knobs, electrical tape covering the remnants of a battery compartment in its rightful place of honor next to my Modulus. Not kidding. It’s that good and I trust that neck with my freakin’ life. It is rock-solid stable with a super low action and has been that way for years.
Never heard of Wreck basses, but that bass sounds lovely. Full and clear, maybe a little subdued in comparison to some of the others, but it was fitting and sounded great. Lovin these comparison vids, btw - You do them the way I like to hear them done. And thank you for including all kinds of playing styles, not just fingers and slap.
You should be doing this very exact thing w/ 4 strings and 6 strings w/ their signature riffs for each series Idk i think that would be a very cool idea, visiting different shops and different basses :))
Winners: Distortion w/ fingers: Ibanez Distortion w/ pick: Wreck Everything else: Marleaux The ones that sounded the best clean sounded the worst distorted IMO.
Best overall I'd have to say the marleaux because it retained its clarity. 2nd class, 3rd ibanez, 4th fender & 5th wreck. I would say although the wreck sounded pretty muted throughout when the overdrive kicked in it was the best. The class had a punchy tone to it throughout. The ibanez was very consistent in all areas but just lacked a bit of something. The fender jazz had nice clarity especially for slap but lacked bottom and sounded a bit thin especially when the overdrive was used.
I find the most interesting/definitively boutique instruments often have such a characteristically unique low end The Claas/Marleaux on this video and the Wood Guerrilla in the previous one demonstrate that quality so well, but I don't know how to explain it with words Woody maybe? If I was to pick any of these for my own use I'd probably opt for the Ibanez/Marleaux, or from the previous video the Wood Guerrilla/Peavey/Dingwall
Cool demo and comparison. \m/ I personally liked the Ibanez sr675, the fender american elite jazz bass, and the marleaux consat 5 custom the most. it even sounds killer with distortion.

Nathan Navarro i go for ibanez and my sponsor are ibanez :)
Ibanez and wreck mostly
I hate the fender sound
i have btb1905 premium with aguliar pickups best of basses
My favorite looking is the Fender, Favorite sound is the Marleaux, But, My favorite overall between this video and the last is the Peavy Cirrus
Ibanez for sure.
Best bang for buck: Ibanez
Best sound: Marleaux
Every time you played the Marleaux, I'd catch myself thinking "Oooo that one's my favorite!"
I was going like that until the drive hit...
Same here!
@@CarlosKTCosta What?? That sounds so heavy and great
Elver Galarga don’t like the harshness of the drive on it and the low end sounds disconnected from the top end to me. Some EQ would probably solve it easy but...
@@CarlosKTCosta Same here, but I assume that means the Marleaux will give you more dynamic range when choosing tone.
Ibanez sounded good. Especially going up against instruments worth 5-6 times more.
..costing...idk if they really worth..of course I'm not on Ibanez's d*co none either..
A mexico fender would do just as well js
Ibanez. In my opinion was the best.
I actually own this exact Ibanez, extremely bang for your buck bass and honestly his tone in this video does NOT do it justice
I own an Ibanez SR2605 and prefer it over anything here.
The Ibanez was right up there with basses that cost 3 times the amount. I'm impressed!

Yep. The drive bassline I keep coming back to, mainly the Marleux, Wreck, Dingwall and Stingray.
I'm supposed to like that Marleaux and that Fender but I really love that Ibanez. The other basses sound okay but that Ibanez just has a bit more beef to it

Get an ibanez with nordstarnd big singles. My sr2605 is my favorite bass I have ever played.

Ibanez + Marleux. Now I wanna see a Warwick vs Spector Euro 5
Júlio Salotti yes that would be so good
Looks like you got your wish!
That Fender is typically what I hear in my head when I think about bass. Amazing sounding instrument.
That Marleaux’s something else, man!
Love the comparison, Wow that Marleaux sounds Amazing!

people are talking about the specific model in the video, not the quality or validity of fender as a whole
You say that as someone who has a lot of experience... I hope 1999 is not the year you were born in
Ibanez all the way. And, for being probably the least expensive bass in the shootout, it's truly impressive!
Best moments (in my opinion)
Slap: 0:34
Bridge Pickup: 1:17
Neck Pickup: 1:25
Drive: 3:00
Drive & Pick: 3:23
The best of the bunch literally varied from one category to the next
1. Marleux
2. Ibanez
3. Fender
4. Claas
5. Wreck
yup and for the money the ibanez was best bang for you buck
The fact that the sub 1k Ibanez is up there with these boutique instruments at all is wild. Shows how much you can get for your money nowadays.
The Ibanez SR675 and the Fender Jazz Bass are my two favorite in this grouping.
That Ibanez sounds fantastic! Full flavor and a killer B-string. Excellent playing!
That headless sounds amazing
Loved the clean tone of Claas but marleaux with drive blew me away!
The claas is so unique and truly sounds like a paino
this time I`m not sure which one I like more but Claas has a sick design!

I was surprised at how versatile the jazz bass was, but to be honest the wreck left a lot to be desired in definition and clarity
not to mention bottom end. the Wreck was a total wreck lol
To me the jazz bass sounded like he lacked midrange

YYEEEEESSSS the first one was my favorite bass demo on youtube!
The Marleaux's slap sound ❤
2:15 when you're wearing headphones and that thing's low B hits you like a frickin truck
The Marleaux Consat to my liking sounds good in the slap. regards
Wow! I’ve never heard of Claas, but that bass is both a good looker, but also had a killer tone! Oh my gosh that drive was so good
That Claas has some balls to its sound. Nice demo! But damn, the Marleaux takes the cake for its clarity.

I loved the Marleaux with the drive especially. I think that and the Claas have to be my favorites.
The Ibanez, Fender and Marleaux had a great tone
I really love how all the basses sound, and the groove you put into it🔥
Finally ur back with awesome video
Love this series!

Hi Nathan, i like your choice of riffs for each section! Very unusual and awesome music! Drums are cool too! Thanks for the video!
I'll take that Fender period!! not only did it have nice high end,but mainly that growly low end punch!!
great video bro, I love it :)
I own the 4 string version of that ibanez. Top quality instrument
Ibby's never dissappoint.
That jazz is a beast!!!!!
I thought the fender could handle the low B a little better.
2:29 What song is this from? It really hits hard
Omg, I play bass and your my inspiration. You are awesome!,
I love the slap riff😍
I love them all. All different, all awesome.
That Marleaux sounds Huge!
Infinite money: Marleaux
No money, but I still have to buy one: Ibanez
All of these are amazing and that slap lick was amazing
The Fender American Elite Jazz Bass was my first choice for
Fender clean and Wreck distorted✌️
Marleaux for clean slap, the Fender for everything else. Tie between the Fender neck pickup and the Marleaux.
Surprised how well the Ibanez stood up against all the others, the Wreck was the best tho
The Claas has a Spector/Rickenbacker vibe to the tone that I like.
2:06 that's a bell! LOL
Marleaux sounds awesome!! Fantastic bass!!
2:47 justo listen yo that Low B string that the Claas Sounds omg
The cheapest is the best for my ears : Ibanez SR675. ;)
the single cutaways have the most oddly attractive appearence
Marleaux and Ibanez!!
I’d have to say the wreck is my favorite due to its powerful sound.
That riff you use to demo the basses under drive slaps harder than than a dad who drives a company owned pickup truck
Great grooves!
A perfect 5 strings bass review👍 It really helped!
Ibanez really good even fast note are clear.. thank you for this video I want Ibanez comparison.
Super SICK with it!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Marleaux- the most amazing sound here! then Fender
you should do an entire track of the bridge pickup with the wreck, marlauex, or ibanez.
Oh that marleaux sounds unreal. Great playing.

Distortion w/ fingers: Ibanez
Distortion w/ pick: Wreck

The ones that sounded the best clean sounded the worst distorted IMO.

Ibanez sounded the best to me; tight and punchy but doesn't sacrifice any low end.
Ibanez and Fender sounded great to my ears. Marleaux sounded kinda empty clean cause it had no mids but it sounded the best with distortion.
