Stalking Carp In Spring - Wassell Grove Fishery

- In this video, I payed a visit to the fantastic, Wassell Grove Fishery, near Halesowen in the West Midlands. I caught some very nice carp, stalking the margins with float gear and using red maggots as bait. It was a memorable day and one which I will remember for a long time to come!

Very nice Fish Lee I have only ever fished Mereside in Earlswood never been to a Commercial Fishery so I am hoping to be going this Sunday for a few hours I am a beginner only been fishing for a few months but just live it even if I blank and dont catch Im learning all the time so be nice to pull a few out.
Thanks mate! Commercials are great for learning, just try and master the basics. It's great to always be learning, I have been fishing for over 30 years and theres still so much for me to learn. It's a great hobby! Good luck with your fishing!

Thanks! I hope you had a good day! I originally planned to fish for perch on the day but the carp were very active. I only had maggots and they were feeding confidently on them. I did contemplate going to the on site cafe where they sell tins of sweetcorn but I didn't in the end! I would usually use corn though as I agree, it's the best bait for this method of fishing!

sme sme yes I'm the same! I wouldn't usually have maggots with me but because I planned on fishing for perch, all I had was maggots and lobs! If I went with carp in mind I would definitely have a few tins of corn in my bag! Maybe keeping a tin of corn in a pocket of my bag is a good idea - something to fall back on or an extra option! Always something to learn from every session, that's what I love about fishing! 😊🎣
