    Oh my goodness. My brother's and I adore your videos, and your charisma always makes us laugh. We were just saying the other day how it's a shame we haven't seen a video from you in a long while and we wish you would upload more (assuming that your videos would just pop up on our front page when you upload). Little did I know that UA-cam hasn't been updating me on when you upload, so when I stumbled upon your channel late at night to find FIVE new videos for me to watch, I was thrilled and messaged my brothers immediately!
    I giggled so much. So true. It's so awkward when someone shows you a picture and you're sitting there thinking "Wow... that is not flattering at all." and you don't know what to say, but you don't want to lie to them.
    Thanks for the tip, boo!

    Compared to your more serious vids, this was very funny and wonderfully silly.
    People told my parents that I looked like Winston Churchill as a baby.
    It sounded like a compliment, but they really meant that I was ugly.

    • @audobone
      @audobone 6 років тому

      tsopmocful Well, Churchill was responsible for the deaths of about 4 million Indians, so you needn't necessarily take it as a compliment from the other way either. Lol.

    "Honey, hush!!", that's what my brother-in-law's Mom always said. Or you could always say what we down in the South say, "Well Bless your/her/his heart!". I always am sincere though when I say "BYH", but been told by a New Englander friend she hates that phrase. She says it's disheartening and degrading. I don't believe so, from me at least, personally. Although, I could see how it could come across that way if said by those small town Gossip types. Or could say, "If that doesn't just beat all!!" So, I'll say now, Honey hush!! I do so look forward to your future videos, with you being so intelligent and all (pretty too, lol!)!! ((hugs!)) 😉

    I try to find something to say that, while true, doesn't offend. Particularly young newlyweds who try making their own clothes, I will say, "Did you make that all by yourself? Wow!" Another good one is, "How original!" If it's a baby (and I don't do babies, to me they're all pretty lumpy lookin') I find something cute to say about how they have big eyes, or a lot of hair, or no hair at all, or whatever.

    I'm not sure I fully appreciate the difference between insincere attitude, and insincere words.
    While the things you said were true to the letter, the intent behind them was deceitful.
    If you can't trust that I speak in earnest, you have no way to know my intent when I say that I'm happy that you made this video.

    That is a tactic I found that works only on most people. Some are sharp enough to know you're really saying nothing. So I've learned to say very little nothing, or just nod, smile. btw that reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where a mother has no clue that her baby is ugly. "Elaaine! Ya gatta look at the baybee!" (Kramer nearly has a seizure from looking at it) Did you watch Seinfeld?

      It's funny how Seinfeld did not look like a possible winning show at all in the beginning. On paper, that is. I too would have thought it'll get cancelled soon. But it turned out to be my favorite sitcom of all time. Also, have you seen Jason Alexander in other roles, like in opera? I love watching highly skilled actors like him!

    Hi. I searched for your latest video in order to comment on an old one where you ranted about the pronunciation of ask. I am not nearly as scholastically educated as you. My highest degree is a GED, but as yourself, am a bit of a stickler concerning proper speech but I think we are a dying breed. It is true that a lot of black people say ax but it's hard to blame them as they have grown up hearing it said that way from infancy and it's become generational. The sad fact is that by no means only, but partly due to, the rap culture and those who follow it, which includes people of all races, Americans are growing dumber by the minute. There are MANY non blacks who say I had went and I had saw etc. Most people can't write a very short comment correctly, much less a proper letter, even with spell checks on their computers. Presidents say helocopter and nucular for goodness' sake. And I just can't seem to think of a single newscaster who can say February, or anyone else for that matter. Webster's dictionary may as well make the change now to FebUary. I really like your videos. Just felt the need to leave you with a little rant of my own :-)

    fblairmd66 It's so irritating when people make false assumptions about any given thing and expect one to react in a predictable, conforming fashion. Nobody likes to be "put on the spot", so to speak. Talk about a lack of objectivity....so often we err. Thanks for the video. Guidance always helps.

    • @briannab4770
      @briannab4770 5 років тому

      I completely agree! Unfortunately, I think it requires quite a sharp sense of social awareness to think that far ahead - to be able to place yourself in the shoes of others and quickly analyze how what you have to say will conjure any feelings of pressure or awkwardness.
      I'm not a particularly neurotic person, but I'm definitely wary about putting people on the spot. I notice people all around me not relenting with their deprecating or unfunny humor as the other party squirms in discomfort... and they're obvious to it! So I just have to interject to try and save the person embarrassment. Ah, if only we lived in a world where we were all socially aware.
      I would NEVER get off on how hot I look in a picture and just shove my phone in someone's face expecting them to shower me with praise. The thought just makes me cringe.

    I really enjoy your videos. I think you’re hilarious and quite brilliant. But, here, you are being very judgmental. You’re right: You are beautiful. But I promise you not all will agree. So who are you to think you’re opinion is right about someone else’s appearance? And, more importantly, why are you teaching others in this video on how to judge, based on appearance?
    All creation is by the hand of God and you have no place to judge it.
